    Pantalone Construction Inc
My concrete porch and stairs needed replacement. Mario came and evaluated the job. Discussed the process and possible complications. He gave me a fair estimate of the job. He and his crew arrived at the time he indicated. The job was done in a timely manner and exactly as he predicted. He and his crew of Shane and Dillon did the job and cleaned up after. I was very impressed with the fact that Mario is old school. All the concrete work was hand finished. They were very careful and meticulous. I would definitely have them do my next project.

    Vinny & Son Contracting Corp.
Vinny and his son came to give us an estimate (recommended by my neighbor as they had looked at her sidewalk as well.) They were well under some of the other quotes we had received and had good references so we decided to hire them. They got the necessary permits which took a couple weeks. They worked on our and several of our neighbor's violations at the same time. The job was completed in 2 days, and our sidewalk/curb looks great!

    LUIGI COTUMACCIO MASONRY CONTR
I had a DOT Violation and needed the sidewalk replaced.

I did my homework before I went with Luigi.  He wasn't the most expensive nor was he the cheapest.
His price was fair and he did the right thing.  He didn't try to take shortcuts or shortchange me.  I've seen my fair share of shady contractors in the past.

Luigi was there every step of the way.
He was courteous, professional and he took care of the work with pride.  It has been over 4.5 months since his work is completed.  My DOT violation has been dismissed and my concrete looks great.

I'm really happy that I chose him and will definitely look forward to hiring him for future concrete/masonry services.

    Vinny & Son Contracting Corp.
The job is went very well. They were honest with when they would be able to start and how long the job would take. They worked efficiently. We had a large job and added on more details as the project went on. Overall we had a good experience working with Vinny & Sons and would work with them again if we needed more work done!

    CENTURY GENERAL CONTRACTING
Went great. William and his crew are all great guys and did an excellent job. William was very patient throughout the process, despite our many changes along the way. The crew showed up every single day as promised. It was a very big job requiring a lot of digging out and leveling to address significant sloping (originally, backyard pitched toward house). They were able to pitch the patio and driveway to best handle water runoff, but still managed to make the patio surface feel completely even. In the end we are very happy with the concrete pour in the front and thrilled with the quality of the stone work in the patio. We had a fairly complex arrangement of stones and the guys did a beautiful job laying it out. Price was very good. Not the cheapest guy we talked to, but cheaper than most of the guys in our neighborhood (Whitestone) and did as good or better than any job we've seen around here.

    Luca Antonelli Contracting
BEWARE Angie's List members. This guy is not an ethical businessman, and he tried to rip me off. I didn't do the job with this contractor because Luca pulled a bait and switch on me on the day construction was to start, which is ILLEGAL! He scoped out my stoop job himself, gave a quote in line with others I got, we signed a contract, and I paid a deposit. He was a local guy with good reviews, so I thought the job would go well. Then on the day he was supposed to start work, Luca looks at my brick steps again and says that he "made a mistake" when he quoted the job and that he needed to cut the bricks to build my steps--driving up the price by 30 percent! In other words, although he priced the job himself, he tried to drive up the price at the very last minute with a false claim. As all the other guys who priced the job told me, the job just required a smaller brick than the one he wanted to use to make the correct step size. Luka clearly tried to get more money out of me because he was dealing with a woman and just assumed he could rip me off. I resisted his pressure to just go through with the job at the higher price, and I give him credit that he gave me the option to just cancel the job, which I did--and he returned my deposit quickly. But I would never, ever recommend that anyone do business with this man after the way he treated me.

Gave me a better price than the other local outfits and did a terrific job. He didn't cut any corners - he gave me a solid (not hollow like the old one) base and proper sloping for drainage and he even did the concrete on the top area so it looks like a mat! He is a craftsman.

    D'Avanzo And Sons Construction Corp
We booked the job the last week of June 2015 with a l20% deposit and was told by Edmundo, part of firm owning family, it would be a 3 wk minimum til work would start. Edmundo was very personable and made my husband and myself confident that we had selected the right contractor for our emergency project. While we were informed that Davanzo worked on houses in the order they were booked, we never dreamed it woule take 3 months rather than the 3 weeks we were told. Edmundo did answer our emails, however, sometimes 2 to 3 days after they were sent. For 3 months Edmundo was unablevto give us a start date. As this was our first project over $3000.00 we had attempted, we stressed out about whether we had chosen wisely in going with Davanzo and had nightmare about having to go to small claims court to recoup our deposit. Three quarters of the way through September when we were at our wits end when we received a call from Edmundo on Friday nforming us that work would begin on MONSAY.
Thankfully the crew of 3 (minus Edmundo) showed up on the Monday. The crew arrived between 7 & 8a.m. everyday for the next 9 days, leaving @ 3-4p.m. The men were excellent, non obstrusive workers. They went above and beyond on every detail of the job. It was our pleasure) to treat them to pizza a couple times as well as tip them a small amount ($40. each) to show our appreciaton.
All well that ended well and barring the lengthy wait, we are 100% satisfied with services rendered by Davanzo & company. I would reccomend them providing you have the patience to wait as they are, with good reason, in hifh demand. The only thing I would suggest to Davanzo is that more contsct with clients, even if its just to allay fears, would go a long way.

    LUIGI COTUMACCIO MASONRY CONTR
Our garage floor was severely cracked, and more importantly, so was the drain pipe that went down the center of the garage, causing flooding where it exited.
Two sections of walkway had cracked and "come up" from the bad weather this past winter making it impossible to fully open the small door leading to the garage from the backyard.
Lastly, also due to last winter's weather, the step at our front entrance had split apart from the bricks, and there were additional cracks in the concrete by our window well in the front yard.
Luigi came by to give us his estimate, describing how we could repair the front without harming the bricks setting up the door jam.
We also discussed the rerouting of the drain pipe in the back to the side of the garage when the floor was redone.
He came back with the contract and a 1/3 deposit was required to confirm the job.
He and his team showed up on time both days it took to complete the work; they helped bring all the heavy items into the back yard and dismantled a shelving unit in our garage in order to do the job properly.
Because the cement delivery was running too late, Luigi rescheduled it for a second day.
Unfortunately, the pipe could not be rerouted as the pitch would have sent water into our neighbor's garage, but at least it was replaced and the new garage floor is smooth and easy to take care of. Luigi was quick to redo part of the front step when I expressed concerns that the cracks underneath needed repair.
He called to make sure there were no problems afterward, and even came back with his team to help put back the shelving unit and heavier items into the garage.
Luigi supervised the work, and definitely followed up. Nice job!

    Non-Typical Home Improvements
The work only took a few days.  They dug out the damaged section of the foundation, which was at the corner of my garage. They braced the ceiling of garage and the second-floor living space above it, and then removed damaged concrete blocks and replaced them.  The workers were a bit sloppy about leaving tools sitting out overnight and forgetting to replace sheetrock in the garage ceiling that they had removed.  When I asked for Tim Warner to come by and check the work before I made the final payment, he reattached the sheetrock quickly.  Overall, the work appears to be satisfactory.
