    My daughter had an issue with her jeep yesterday and we had call Gil's to come get the car.  the young man who came to tow jumped in to make sure the issue was not something silly, he drove it a bit and heard the grinding noise and jumped underneath the car and discovered the plastic firewall piece had fallen off and was stuck in the tire.  He removed the piece and left with no charge to us.  This is the kind of professionalism and honesty you can expect from Gil's.  we have been customers for some time and have had nothing but great experiences with this organization.

    I could no longer deal with the service department at the local Nissan dealership so I decided it was time to give Gil's Garage of Halfmoon a try. I dealt with a very professional man named Tom.  I am completely satisfied with all of the work that was done. This is a first class operation.  My experience was excellent from start to finish.

    Highly reccomend. I was going to go with another company (name rhymes with Dole's - their commercials are always on TV) but I went on Angies list and checked out other reviews and saw Elmo's and decided to try them out. Their estimate was half of "Dole's"! Not only did they do great work, they have awesome customer service and detailed the car before we got it back. How great is that? I say that's super great!

    They did the work promptly, it took just a day to finish the job. They are very efficient, do a good job and their prices are fair. They are not chatty, they could be a little pleasant and their waiting room is not good. All the minor thing that I have got them repair was very good. I have no complaints about them.

    Lower than dealerships. Does minor work, first major repair that's been done with this company. Prices reasonable, did the work and got it done in a timely manner. !2,000 mile warranty. Would bring a lot of business if the have more locations.

    they asked me if I was having any problems with my car, and offered to check it out- I was having what I thought was a problem, but it wasn't.  They showed me the air filter for the engine and offered to change it (for an exttra charge)- I accepted.  He talked to me about mileage, which I think is low for my make and model car- he agreed. and thought I may see an improvement with the new air filter.  They took time to explain what they were doing and that I would need new rear tires by around January.  I will go there for my second oil change (part of the Ange's deal) in 3.000 miles. I would recommend them to others.  Caruso's is not local for me, but it was definitely worth the trip. (They gave me great directions to get there.)
    PS I am not 100% sure about the cost of the service (which included the air filter), but it was a great price for 2 oil changes and tire rotations.

    My SUV would suddenly stall out (due to the sub zero temperatures?) after being fully warmed up and driving about 12 miles; could not restart and had it towed in. Since it was intermittent, it took them a couple days while they test drove it, ran it on their test rig, and still could not reproduce. They determined it was most likely the crank sensor and replaced it, then let me drive it around a couple weeks before charging me just in case they hadn't really found it. I also asked a dealer about it (Keeler) and they said these kinds of intermittent problems are nearly impossible to diagnose, don't get trapped out by the code system, and (their experience) might be the crank sensor (so Gil's got that right). No problems since then.
    I've been regularly using Gil's for both of my vehicles for regular maintenance and found them to be honest, professional and very competent. Not the cheapest, but I don't have to worry about half-assed jobs either.

    Up to the sale, the dealer was pleasantly low pressure. We did our research online and waited for them to get a similar vehicle in stock we could test drive. Our first pleasant surprise was this wasn't the usual 'drive it around the block' test drive, but 'take it for the afternoon, drive it home, show the family.' Once we were sure of the model and options we wanted we used consumer reports pricing service to determine a fair offer, which the dealer turned out to be one of the certified dealers under the program. So we got the 'fair price' without any arguments or further negotiation. They located the car with the options we wanted at a relatively near NY dealer, added a few dealer installed options, and we made the appointment for pickup which despite the usual mandatory lecture on high-profit items (maintenance agreement, rustproofing, etc.) went quickly and fit our schedule.
    Overall we were very pleased with the dealer and would be willing to buy a car from them again. We've not yet had any maintenance performed on the vehicle, but plan to use this dealer to do so during the warrantee period.

    They called to say vehicle was finished but then recommended front brake svc when I picked up the vehicle. I would have liked them to fix front too instead of an additional appointment but overall pleased.
