Charles Krull & Son Inc Plumbing & Heating
Excellent. The flushing of the water heater & installing the shut-off valves were scheduled in advance. But the night before the scheduled appointment, we discovered the corroding drain pipe in the basement ceiling & the Krull team was able to take care of it on the same visit. They called to ask of they could come early, they took care of everything on one visit, left everything clean & neat. We can always depend on them for good work & fair pricing.

Prompt and professional service. Delivered as promised. We had received three estimates for a water heater installation, and Chris Krull was the only one that really listened to our needs and provided an alternative solution to the other two that best fit our requirements .

The customer service at MaKo is phenomenal! We had a very old water heater. Many companies did not carry what we were looking for. It was very difficult to find. MaKo was the 4th company that we called. Adonis from MaKo was fantastic! He was knowledgeable, patient, he listened to our needs, and most of all he followed through. He kept in touch with us throughout the entire process. He worked hard at trying to find us the water heater we were looking for, which wasn't easy. We were extremely impressed by Adonis! I would HIGHLY recommend MaKo.

I really wanted to get a tankless water heater, but after discussing this with them and understanding that it was not possible to install in my house because of construction issues, they gave me a great recommendation for an alternative, which I researched and decided to install. They came the next day and installed my new and AWESOME indirect BOCK water heater in a record time - left everything top notch clean and service was excellent! They even labeled every pipe and valve so if I need to shut something off I will know what and where.

He was wonderful. He came and fixed a water tank that was all corroded and he had to put new parts in it. What's nice is he does everything! He gave me a 12 year warranty on the work. He's very friendly and trustworthy. he was referred to me through my mortgage broker.

Above all else, I found Mako to be responsible, responsive and professional- a far cry from many others in the business.  The initial response was quick (thankfully, as we had no heat), the diagnose correct and the sizing and planning for the new system was done timely.  They came back as promised, were extremely friendly, knowledgable and courteous, and did a neat and professional installation (I had a friend in the business review photos of the piping, etc, and it was done extremely well).  I actually found an old quote from keyspan from ~8 years ago and it was a couple thousand less, but for a less efficient boiler and water heater.   So Mako might be on the high side, but adjusting for 8 years and the fact that Mako has really top notch pros working for them, I think thats a wash at worst.
All in all, these are the guys I would send to my Mom's or kids houses if I wanted to  sleep well knowing the job was done correctly and safely.  I would also point out that these installations are inherently hazardous as the equipment is heavy, there are gas and electric lines, and of course hot water or steam.  The last thing you need is having some goofballs in your house getting hurt, or hurting you.  Mako guys know what they are doing and thats one less thing to worry about.  Worth every penny.

The technicians were on time and very professional.
The care they demonstrated when removing the old equipment was much appreciated.
Excellent price and value, I highly recommend this company.
I am also hiring them to install mini-split ductless air conditioning in my home.

Bill Grimley is the ultimate professional.  Courteous, kind, and efficient.  I have used him twice for plumbing issues in my apartment (once in bathroom and once in kitchen) and I would without question use him again.  My parent's always used him in their house, which is where I got his number.  Highly recommended!

The owner of the company (Ron) insists that > the original boiler (which he discarded for us) had three motorized > return valves. That was the basis for his assumption that the house had three zones. The house never had three zones. It had two (one for the basement and one for the top two floors). He should have evaluated the house and determined that from the start. The piping in the walls was improperly configured when the house was built. Ron installed a three zone boiler for a two zone house. We called in a plumber to evaluate the installation. The plumber told us that the boiler was installed incorrectly and that Ron should take responsibility for fixing the problem. He wrote a letter to that effect which we sent to Ron. Ron then chose his own consultant (a person whose nickname is the "Boiler God" on Angie's List and who has more rave reviews than any heating specialist I've ever seen). His name is Doug (with Bruni & Campisi) and he also told us that the installation was performed incorrectly by Ron. Doug and the plumber we chose both formed their opinions with an awareness that the house was piped incorrectly when it was built. But they both said that Ron should never have installed a three zone boiler for a two zone house. Before Ron wrote his initial estimate for the job, I asked him to assess the house fully and make sure the estimate covers all expenses. Instead, he surprised us with approximately $2000 over the initial written estimate. We accepted that. But then he told us that fixing the current zone problem which he caused will cost us four figures more. When I objected, he offered to come to our house to discuss the matter. Since then, I have called him and sent him countless emails. He responds to maybe one email in ten, promising to call us to come over soon. He never came. I finally gave up. When performing the job, Ron was generally very nice and eager to please. That's why I'm finding his current lack of responsiveness disappointing.
