I recently had a flood in my finished basement a friend referred me to your website I hired Gotham to do the work in my basement they were true professionals with me and they handled the insurance adjuster, from the cleanup phase to the finishing phase and in the interim I found out I had a mold issue in the basement and that was a great health concern. they waterproofed my basement and treated the mold in the basement. it looks beautiful now and I have to thank Andy Jackie and Charlie for their help and guiding me through the different phases of the project from the cleanup to the insurance adjuster waterproofing and mold to the finishing of the project thank you Gotham and Angie's List forever

After getting a few other estimates, I chose Dur-All to remove asbestos insulation from my basement.  The other estimates I got varied wildy, and this company was the most reasonable, and properly licensed and insured.  It took 2 phone calls and a few days to get a return phone call, but once I heard back, we set up an estimate quickly.  During the free estimate, I was told exactly what the removal entailed, and was relieved to hear that it would be a small job- only 4 hours.  The crew arrived the next week right on time, with all their gear, and ready to work.  The basement was tented off, and the two men finished right on time.  Afterwards we toured the area, and all of the asbestos was removed and the pipes were stripped clean.  There was no mess left behind, and the basement was neat and tidy when the work was done.

We are moving into an older house with asbestos covering on the pipes. A representative from JBH came in for an estimate and gave us a very accurate idea of the overall cost. Something that we were not able to confirm at the time of the removal...we were told this was a family-owned business and that someone from the family would come in to do the removal. Neither of the men who showed up introduced themselves as part of the family... The men from JBH showed up on time (very polite guys), removed all the asbestos, and then brought us down to show the work they had done. We were supposed to bring in an independent contractor for air monitoring, but the people we reached out to never returned our calls (they'll get their OWN review on Angie's List). In all the craziness of our move, we forgot that we never actually booked an air monitering company. We called JBH the day of the scheduled removal to let them know about the situation and to see if we should reschedule - they ended up calling someone in on our behalf to do the monitering. Not the ideal scenario, but it was great that they did the extra legwork with practically no notice. We did have to call JBH ourselves to follow up on the air testing results, which was the one downside.

We felt very confident in our decision to buy a home as a result of PBI's inspection. Upon his arrival, Paul was greeted by me, my husband, the listing agent, our agent and my in-laws. I was worried that he would be overwhelmed by our presence, but Paul took it all in stride. He asked us to let him look around the home and its exterior by himself and promised to return and take us around to talk about the details of his inspection. We had a million questions, which he answered patiently. He asked us not to take notes, and to focus on asking questions and paying attention to everything we saw - he assured us that his report would cover everything he spoke about. We were with him a good two hours and there wasn't a hint of annoyance, even when our sentences started with "But I read in my book on home inspection...". There were no scare tactics or pushes to use his contacts for contracting work and he even suggested timelines for repair ("beyond due for repair" vs. "in the next five to eight years", etc.), which was very helpful in renegotiating our offer on the house. His verbal report was just as thorough as the written report, which followed via email later that day (with pictures)!. The reporting was beyond what we had expected and Paul was highly professional, with a great "bedside manner." Paranoid first-time buyers, we asked for all sorts of additional tests over the phone - mold, radon, lead paint, etc. His partner, Scott, discouraged us from going overboard and suggested we wait to see how the inspection went before ordering testing - no hard sell, which was refreshing! Once on site, Paul gave us his reasoning behind not ordering a handful of tests, which he thought were unnecessary, in our case. We ended up ordering an environmental profile on the neighborhood, which thankfully only turned up minor issues. Best of all, we were told we could call any time - even years from now - for any follow up questions regarding the inspection and photos, which will be helpful as we make repairs and improvements down the road. I would highly recommend Paul and Scott's services!
