    H&V Collision Center
    Nothing went right from the start.  No loaner vehicles available for more than a week. H&V was not able to provide a ride home despite website stating that a ride would be available. While not H&V's fault, Enterprise Rental Car had no vehicles available until the next day which forced my wife to leave work to pick me up.  No insurance was involved so H&V quoted and charged full OEM prices and, in my humble opinion, excess labor hours.  H&V indicated that at time of quote that they would work with the parts vendor to price match the OEM parts but final bill was full OEM pricing. Gentlemen at check-out desk cluelessly stated he "doesn't know what they do back there."   H&V was fully aware that an insurance company would pay them significantly less than they charged me but no accommodation was made. Lastly, repair took way too long to complete. Promised vehicle would be ready on a Friday but was not delivered until the following Monday - nearly 2 weeks from drop-off for repair of lower front fascia and radiator replacement of a Honda Accord - not a difficult vehicle to get parts for.
    The repair looks good which I would expect from OEM parts.

    Broadway Auto Clinic
    I go to Broadway Auto for all my car service needs. The staff is friendly and professional and the work gets done on time. In the dozen or so times I've been there I only had one problem (a dashboard dial stopped working after a repair) but they fixed the problem immediately. They provide rides to/from work while your car is being worked on and help reduce the disruption that car repair can mean to your day to day activities.
    The cost is a little high compared to other garages I've been to (maybe 10-20% higher), but the reliability and high quality of service makes it very much worth the cost.

    It did not go well.
    This was my second year in going to this Auto Service Garage for an  auto inspection..  For an inspection, the garage mechanic indicated my rear springs/suspension in the car was at fault and it was not safe to drive.    It cost me $1200.00 the first year.
    Trusting this was a one time event, I made the appointment for the inspection  the following year.  Again, the cost was over $1300.00 for a front end suspension, bearings, repair, etc.    As a result, my electronic system for my control panel /systems check was damaged. They informed me of this with an apology and could not repair the system.  The garage mechanic smiled and said, IT ONLY COSTS $130.00 PER MONTH TO RUN THIS CAR.  I was stuck;  I needed an inspection.
    The other issues is:  one has to drop off the car in the am and pick up at the end of the day.  This year with my auto inspection coming up I checked with Angie's list and found a great place nearby.

    Adirondack Tire & Service
    The service went very well.
    It was a last minute appointment as my vehicle needed a NYS inspection. I suspected the front end of the car was out of alignment and was not surprised when the service man showed me the damaged tires. The cost of the new tires was reasonable and the alignment was completed within one hour of time so i could have my car and go to work that same day.
    I plan to use this company again next year for my inspection.

    We have been long time customers of this location. Even after moving out of the area we still went out of our way to bring our cars here. The mechanics are top notch and the management WAS great. Our car was brought in due to to some electrical problems and we made an appointment for the car. I called in the early afternoon and my car wasn't even looked at yet. Then I was told that they didn't have enough time for the mechanic to identify the issues, even though I made an appointment. We gave the manger a list of things we wanted looked at and he said they briefly looked at all of them. He then tried to brush me off and said I should take the car to the dealer to get repaired. We were confused, did they look at the car or not??? After returning home my husband decided to look under the hood and see if he could identify any issues and our battery cables were barely hooked on. So we are assuming that they very quickly looked at our car.
    The new manager seems to be bothered if you come into the shop and could care less if you are a returning customer and I honestly do not think he knows a thing about cars. We used to suggest this shop to everyone but not anymore. We feel like we can not trust them for an honest repair under the new management.

    Firestone Complete Auto Care Store
    We went in for a routine oil change and ended up with an oil leak. We had to go back for numerous visits because they forgot to put in a filter and then a gasket and then they didn't have the part and then they bent our oil pan. The store management was very helpful and even offered to send staff over to clean our driveway and we really appreciated that but they should have double checked the work of the mechanics after they preformed the work. We didn't mind returning once but after 3 different visits were very annoyed.

    Friendly and helpful staff that actually know what they are doing and explain things to you! 
    I've had no issues with work done - unlike with my dealer. I will be returning soon for more.
    A bit of history and why I won't return to my dealer for work.......
    Dealer told me that my parking brake cable was broken and the part was obsolete. So, they kept my car for 3 days while they tried to locate the part - which they failed to do. I picked up my car, went home and searched Google and found the part they told me was obsolete in about 30 seconds.
    This set off a red flag obviously, so I didn't order the part. Instead I decided to take the car elsewhere. Turns out it  wasn't the cable at all!
