Real Estate Agent reviews in Long Island City

After being contacted by them to view a property for sale in Astoria, I made a FULL asking price offer on the property with 40% down.
The next day I was contact by Yvonne who said that the owners did not accept my offer because the current tenants did not like me when I went to see the property. I thought that was extremely strange and offered to speak with the owner to assure her that I was a good person, like a fool I even took references from previous tenants I had been a landlord for. Still she said the owner did not want to sell to me.
Fast forward a few months and I run into the super of the property and he tells me the property was still under contract and did not close. I found that so strange since I had already purchased another place! I then asked him why the tenants said they didn't like me and not want me to purchase the place. The super could not believe his ears. He is a family friend of the owner and said no one ever said such a thing!
Turns out these deceitful brokers, Yvonne Anzolone & Joseph Casella DID NOT PRESENT MY OFFER TO THE OWNERS!!!!
I was furious!! I can only make a few assumptions.
Either the people they did present the offer for offered them cash to push their offer through or they thought the other buyers had a better chance of making the deal go through. Either way they are deceitful and not to be trusted. They didn't even do right by their client (the sellers of the property), because by having 2 full price offers they could've gotten more money for the seller, but they dit not do that either.
Stay far away from these two.

Marco Gomez & The Reach Team (Keller Williams)
Marco was amazingly responsive to my needs and questions. He stayed in touch
throughout the whole process -- and believe me, buying a coop in NYC is a
long process. He and his team -- especially Robert! -- walked me
through the negotiation process, stayed on top of all the details, and
consistently pointed me in the right direction. If the top score is a
    10, Marco is an 11.

    4 Sale By Johanna
My wife and I have been looking to buy a multifamily house for a while. We had had some bad experiences with other agents, and weren't sure how to proceed. I found Johanna here and saw many good reviews. We reached out to her. At first she was fantastic. Her only flaws were that she made us go to her office in Jamaica a couple of times (we live in Astoria), and every time she would make us wait while she finished something else, but she was very helpful and knowledgeable. In fact, she already had one house she was trying to sell that we liked a lot. Later it turned out there was an issue with one of the tenants and she was the first one to tell us not to buy it because she wanted to protect us. We were impressed with her honesty.
Unfortunately, after that she went silent. We thought it was because she hadn't found more properties. We called her and wrote to her to check status and she didn't answer. Some weeks later when we found her she told us of a series of unfortunate events that happened in her personal life and she explained why those events forced her to set her work aside. It would have been great if she had told us in advance or even change her voice mail recorder so we knew what to expect when she couldn't work but otherwise it's all understandable.
Based on our brief experience and all the other reviews I would still advice you to contact her.

This company is highly corrupt; run away! They bully and extort their co-op unit owners, and are just plain rude and nasty in the process.
I was a sublessor in a building that collected a $500 move-out deposit from me, ostensibly to cover possible damages to an elevator. After my move, the super inspected the elevator and found no damage ? then refused to return the check and someone cashed it before I could issue a stop payment. When I inquired as to the reason, the very rude manager claimed this was the building's policy (to "cash the check and then refund you," even though she'd collected the check claiming the opposite) and then hung up on me when I protested.
In addition, the building was horribly maintained, filled with roaches and constantly broken plumbing, despite seemingly constant capital "improvements." These people should be put out of business.

    Plaza Realty
My daughter went to NY to find an apartment in the Queens area.  After an absolutely awful and frustrating few days with miserable results and dealing with agents who were negative, tried bait and switch tactics, and had her running around on her own, she found 'Angel'.  She was wonderful to work with and my daughter called - really excited about where they had gone and what they found.  The bottom line is that she found an apartment in Astoria, close to everything she needs, close to transit options and, most importantly, where she feels safe.  I would recommend Angel at Plaza Realty (a family owned company) to anyone looking for housing in the area.

Their agents (I work with one agent in particular) are professional, prompt, courteous in returning phone calls and in scheduling appointments for viewing apartments to be rented. They seem to extend that same professionalism to building owners as well as to prospective tenants, making everybody happy.

We bought our house from them twelve years ago. I had various dealings with the people in terms of recommending contractors and things like that. I keep in touch with the brokers. They are terrific. They know our neighborhood very well. Our neighborhood is a little bit special. The house has a futurist design and certain specific characteristics. My attorney was very impressed with them. They didn't charge me to refer me to a contractor. I would absolutely use them in the future.
