Rich & Tom's Ground To Chimney
The racoon mother retrieved 4 of her babies, but 2 were left. They responded quickly the next day and contacted a rescue group who came immediately and retrieved the final 2 babies. Everyone was extremely pleasant to work with. We were very satisfied.

My family decided we wanted to adopt a dog. We were thinking we would like a border collie. So we started searching on the computer. We came across a border collie at Little Shelter. We called to see if the dog was available for adoption. They told us she was so the next day we took a ride to see her. When we arrived at the shelter we were sorry to hear that another family was interested in adopting the little border collie. The staff at the shelter encouraged us to take a look around, and maybe we would see another dog that we'd like to adopt. One of the girl's that worked there showed us a litter of puppies that were only 6 weeks old. Make a long story short we ended up taking one of the puppies home with us. That was 14 years ago! Going to the shelter that day was the best thing we ever did. That was the day Jade, the name she was given by the shelter, came into our lives, and the day Maggie became a member of this family. After 14 years of being a loyal friend and companion Maggie has passed. We love her and we miss her. If we ever decide to adopt another puppy you can sure Little Shelter will be the first place we go. The people at Little Shelter were very kind and helpful. They went out of their way to help us and make sure we were happy with our selection. Over the years we'Ve told many people about Little Shelter and recommend them highly.

Animal Care and Control of NYC
This dog is the greatest dog ever. There are so many wonderful animals at this shelter. The animals have been through so much and they need TLC because they have been through a lot. But once they have adjusted, they can blossom into wonderful pets. When you adopt from here, you are taking a pet off of death row. They also have a bank in Brooklyn and Staten Island for the same shelter.

    Beagle Freedom Project
Some of the beagles have been rescued from testing labs. They need a lot of love and patience, which is gladly given. They have just come out of years of being in cages and not seeing the sunlight. I think that Shannon, the founder, is the most wonderful person in the world for rescuing these dogs. We should have more people in the world like her who manage to get several dogs from animal testing labs. Animal Rescue Media Education Corp is the mission company they are also associated with.  She works through negotiation and legality. Recently, the Beagle Freedom Bill has been passed in CA and Minnesota.  It states that when the laboratories are "finished"  with the beagles and now other testing animals, they will not be put to death, but given the chance to live, be fostered and adopted, by Law!  There are many people wanting these animals all over the country, Yeah!  Yes, Shannon is a Hero among all she comes in contact with through the Animal Rescue Media Education Beagle Freedom Project!! Using Petfinder I found my first cat in April, 2010. She came from the Rockaway Animal Hospital in Rockaway NJ. She caught my eye, we bonded and home she came. In May 2010 I went online again and saw a kitten sponsored by K.I.S.S. (Kitties in need of someone special) from Hopatcong NJ. When I went to see that kitten in person, she ignored me completely; there was no chemistry. But the little guy in the next cage was a charmer. He joined the family. In December 2012 we were looking for a dog.We found him, again, on Petfinder from a place called Double Dog Rescue in Connecticut. Each experience was different, but good. All three rescue groups had different requirements for vetting potential owners and cost, but all quite reasonable.

    Friends of Randolph Animal Pound
They were very thorough in their adoption process in figuring where the animals had to be placed and which ones should go where.  They knew the animal’s personality and they fit the animal with the person.

New Rochelle Animal Hospital is a no kill shelter. They gave me a list of free spaying. I love them. Their facility is clean and the animals are well taken care off much better than at other shelters. They were good. Cleanliness stands out. I can't stand when you go to shelters and they small and are not clean. All the animals are clean and well cared for. It is almost like a home environment for the animals. They have volunteers who pick up the animals. It is what to me a shelter should be. Their price is fair for what they do. I don't have any complaints. I had no problems with them. I would go back if I needed to adopt and I would recommend people to go there.

We would highly recommend them. They are very thorough and caring. They are mostly volunteers and if they don’t have an answer, they would make sure and find the answer. They are willing to help.

They are very thorough and offer a very good service. I have also had friends adopt pets from Jersery Shore Animal Center. I really like that they do background checks and make sure that the individuals adopting the animals are taking their pets to veterinarian visits regularly.

I was actually invited to a tricky tray by a friend of mine who had adopted somebody from NOAH’S ARK.   The people I met there were wonderful.  I was looking to add a cat to my household.  In the tricky tray they had a number of little pieces on a board as to who is available.  They were very nice in explaining all the pros and cons of some of these cats that they knew and I went over to the shelter and they were really nice.  They took me on a tour of the whole place.  They didn’t bring the animal out to me they allowed me to go in and see where everybody was and things like that.  It wasn’t a secret visit.  They allowed me to go through and see some of the other animals.  They had a lot of trainers who were socializing the animals and playing with them.  We get a better feel of what each one was and they weren’t pushy.  They were very nice as far as making sure the pet goes to the right home to.  They were very good in that way.
