Phil did an amazing job of repairing the damage and making them look like new. I appreciated the time he took to explain to me both before and after the work was completed what had been done and why. I also highly recommended him to a family member for a similar job.

    Pioneer Masonry
Pioneer Masonry removed the step from porch and even out the steps height so they were both the same height (original steps were not the same height) and replaced a portion of the top step. This was all done within a day and they were very professional. I would definite recommend them and hire them again if I had a need for their services.

    Hunter Springs Landscape Co Inc
They did a find job of leveling the property, but they seeded it on a day when two inches of rain was predicted.  When the seed washed away they said it was "an act of God" and they were not responsible for that.

The owner worked with us to devise an estimate that met our needs and budget.  He had many great suggestions.  Work started promptly and was done by the owner with another worker or by the owner himself.
He leveled the area where the patio ended up, kept us advised of any potential issues and put flagstones in an area that needed then to allow access to the faucet without waling in mud.
He went above and beyond what we had expected from him.  He was pleasant and always professional, and worked many hours until the job was done (and this job involved moving a lot of large stones around.
I highly recommend him and only feel guilty that it took so long for me to write this review.
During the process, several neighbors stopped by to get his info as they were impressed with the job in progress.

Robert Pascal Chimney & Roofing Restorations

I received estimates from six contractors but chose Bob Pascal because of his obvious knowledge of the work to be performed, and also because of his great reviews here on Angie's list. It was a very good decision indeed.
Bob showed up when he said he would, and he completed the work on time and as promised. He and his brother Jack did all the work themselves, and were professional and courteous during the entire project. It's clear that they really take pride in the work they do. Customer satisfaction is obviously their number one priority.

On the first day they dismantled the old chimney, carefully removed all the concrete and bricks and then placed all the debris into their trailer. On the second day on-site they built the new chimney with great looking bricks, made the forms for the concrete crown at the top of the chimney, and poured the concrete. I was amazed they were able to accomplish that much in one day. On the third day they installed the new copper flashing around the base of the chimney and replaced all of the roofing shingles that needed replacing. Because the concrete crown was not adequately dry on this date, they returned the next day to remove the forms and finish the job.
I watched their progress throughout the entire project and am convinced I could not have found anyone to do this job any better than they did. At the end of each day they carefully cleaned up the entire area, - driveway, yard, etc.
I am very happy that I chose Robert Pascal Chimney and Roofing Restorations for my chimney project. I definitely recommend Bob Pascal for any project you need to have done.

There were several cracks and cap separations on our chimney allowing water inside the fireplace. They repaired the damaged areas, re-tarred the chimney to roof, swept and inspected the inside of the chimney. I feel the price they charged for the amount of work they did was a fair deal. They were prompt, had good people skills, and did a good job!

    The Chimney Doctor
I did not contract for services.  The Chimney Doctor came out to my home no less than 4 times and the price for services went up each time he visited the property.  First meeting he was totally unprepared and did not bring his complete book of samples of his work to review.  He reviewed the chimney and stated he could do the stone veneer for $3500-4000.  he did not even measure the chimney. I asked him to measure however he stated he's done many like this and his estimate would be good.  Second visit he showed up with a couple of his field crew to measure chimney and he did not discuss any change in his ball park estimate.  I then provided him with type stone surface we wanted to have on the chimney and when I called him he did not even remember looking at the chimney so he decided to visit house again.  Upon visiting house again he then stated he would provide me cost estimate in a couple days.  I waited and he called with a final estimate of $4500 within 3 days.  I told him I needed a written quote and he stated it would take him a couple days to get it to me.  He arranged to meet me at my home and at the meeting he tried jacking price up another $500 on the job after he looked at the chimney for the 4 time.  At that point I told him to just give me the written quote and thus ended the process with the Chimney Doctor.

    CNY Masonry
We saw a hole in the wall in the corner of the basement.  The hole was probably about 6-12" wide.  We called CNY Masonry on a Saturday afternoon and Jay came to the house within a few hours to look at it an give us an estimate.  He said he could do the job on Thursday.  He came on Thursday as scheduled.  He finished on Friday morning.  He had to dig out more area of the wall and put in blocks.  The sump pump is in the same corner; he replaced the hose and cleaned out the crumbled concreted that had fallen down into the hole with the pump.  He cleaned up the area of the crumbled concrete and dust.  Very professional.

    WAYNE J BURGESS MASONARY
Initial work on front steps, porch and walkway went well. Good solid masonry work and fixed drainage problem. Replacing basement windows led to unexpected and expensive additional work for foundation repair and replacement. Problem with cut and repair of house foundation sill above basement window. Jacking the house for replacing 3 rows of foundation block led to some cracks in interior wall plaster: no warning given of potential problems with jacking. Costs rose significantly above initial estimate. Eventually we called in a foundation specialist for further structural repair.

    Fire Development
I signed his contract and gave him a deposit check which he required.  He immediately cashed the check and never returned to perform/complete the work he agreed to perform per the agreement.  After many phone calls, he said he was not going to do the work but would refund the money.  He never did.  He never responded to my or my attorneys' attempts to contact him.  I subsequently won a judgement against him in City of Syracuse Small Claims Court.  He has not complied with the court order to pay the money back to me.  If you want to see a copy of the judgement which is a public document, it's on file with the City of Syracuse and has also been transferred to Onondaga County.
I would strongly recommend that you use another contractor for work you need performed.
