House Painting reviews in Liverpool

    ERIC ZIVERTS
Eric, Is a super person very pleasant and very professional. I grade Eric A+ if I could. He did and excellent job , prepping, painting and clean up . Very Reasonable pricing. My neighbor saw Eric's work and hired him on the spot to do some deck painting at his house staring the next day after he finished my deck. Eric was the smallest company from the recommended providers , he contacted me within 20 minutes and was at my house within the hour to give me an estimate. We both live in the Liverpool area which made it convenient . i plan on using Eric in the fall for some inside painting. 1st Time I ever used Angie's list / Home advisor, Will definitively give them a call again

    Affordable Solutions by Brian
Brian and his team were excellent. The job was done professionally and Brian was great at explaining what needed to be done. We did have to wait about 2 months to have the work performed because his schedule was so full but Brian was honest about that when he came out to do the initial free estimate. I would definitely recommend and use this company again

    DH Ferrarone Company LLC
David walked through the house with me on December 18 and said that it would take him a few days to get a complete estimate together for the inside of the house. He quoted $500 to cover the stain in the kitchen, move a light fixture and hang a ceiling fan, hang the microwave, and caulk the upstairs tub. He came and did the work on Dec 22. I had to ask him to come back and fix the ceiling job because you could see where there was speckling that was not smoothed out as well as paint that was too smooth. He said that he thought it was done, and he would come back on Dec 23 to finish, and at that time we could talk about the rest of the repairs. When he came, he had nothing to say about the rest of the repairs. On January 2, I still had no estimate for the rest, so I asked him if he had a quote for the rest of the inside work. On January 3, he said that he would get back to me the following day. He did not. I texted him on the 3rd to let him know that the ceiling also still did not blend. Five days later, he got back to me saying that he had had the flu, and he would get back to me the next day on the 10th. He did not. He also said that he would be by on the 11th to fix the ceiling again, and he did not show up. I left my door open all day, expecting that he would be there to do the work and lock up on his way out, as he did the first time. He did not show up. On January 16 he finally got back to me with an estimate for work on the roof leak, the fence gate, stairway, hall at the top of the stairway, and mudroom tiles, saying that he had been waiting for the snow to melt!!! I responded that the snow had nothing to do with it, I had been waiting for an inside estimate, it had been two days short of a month since he had walked through the house and the estimate included less than half of the inside work. I also told him that I had left my home unlocked all day on the 11th because he said that he was coming to do work and was a no show. His response was that he was giving me a great deal on the work that he quoted, I had asked him for an estimate on everything inside and out (I have texts to prove this is not true), I should have told him if I was leaving my door open, and most contractors would tell me to go pound salt. I told him that I had no idea if he was giving me a good deal because after a month of working on the ceiling stain it still did not look right. Also, I left the door open because that's how we did it the first time, and it's my understanding that whether someone is going to be home or not, you should call if your plans need to change and you are not coming. He knows that I have a job, so I must have been leaving the house unlocked- unless I wasn't supposed to believe him that he was coming??? I asked him to just finish the ceiling that I had already paid him for. It looks almost good now- some globs of paint in one small area, I am thinking about scraping off with a knife. Anyway, if you think that I am crazy and a month is a reasonable amount of time to wait for a partial estimate, and people are entitled to keep saying that they are going to do things and not doing them, then give this guy a call.

What impressed us the most was the talents and skill of our painter Eric. He kept in communication with us and went above and beyond our expectations. He did those little things that make a big difference. Eric's advice and reassurance was very comforting. When the job was completed and we did our final inspection, Eric would not leave until we were 110 % satisfied. CNY Handyman takes HUGE pride in their work and I would recommend them to anyone. They came with great reviews from Angie's list and did not disappoint.

The first part went well.....the shed, and he told me they would be here today to do the work and they are NOT........he says I only paid for a repair of some boards which he has not followed thru on, let alone get it painted.

Paid deposit. Job not finished. Waiting for deposit refund and reimbursement for paint. Waited over 2 months to get project started after deposit. Was promised I would be prioritized so it would be completed before the weather changed. As it needed to be covered in a non slip surface for safety reasons. Owner was nice and knowledgeable. However communication between the owner and the worker was lacking. The worker called me to set up a time to tear down my chimney....is was a deck repainting...he hadn't read the work order. So instead of coming the next day to start he pushed it a week (without telling me). I had to call the owner to find out why the worker didn't show. The 2nd time the worker came over to look at the deck. He told me the wrong type of paint to purchase...told me to get a stain instead of the resurfacing paint that the owner and I had agreed upon. He sent me to the wrong store. I had to call the owner again to verify the actual correct material to purchase. Wasted 4 hours. Same discussion the I asked the worker to make sure to check the weather to ensure he didn't paint it on a day it was supposed to rain due to the cure time. Worker agreed said he or his brother would be out the next morning to paint. The next day he didn't show, had to call the owner to find out what was going on. The worker then showed up after 4pm when I was away and painted the deck right before a downpour (within the hour...very obvious it was going to rain. ) wasted 3 gallons for $40/ gallon resurfacing paint. And the deck looks horrendous. I texted the owner that night with Owner and said to call me the next day with a gameplan on how they were going to fix. 2 days later I had to call the owner as the worker had blocked my number. Was told by the owner he would ensure it would be recleaned and painted and they would replace the paint used. A week nothing happened. Plenty of time and good weather to come and clean the paint off and repaint. Called the owner and was told they couldn't finish and would have to wait until spring. I'm an engineer/landscape architect. The lack of attention to detail and follow-up is unexcusable. I've requested they clean the deck, refund my deposit and the cost of the paint. I put my trust in this company based on the reviews on here...after dealing with them...I have no idea how they have such high ratings.

    JERMAN'S PAINTING AND WALLPAPER
Terry and Chris did a wonderful job and we are completely satisfied with the work that they did. We were impressed with the respect that they had for our property, consistently covering areas (including the garden plants) and cleaning up at the end of each work day. Over the course of the work, Terry and Chris kept us informed of progress, so there were no surprises. The house looks amazing and we are glad that we found such competent, experienced and respectable people to do the work. We highly recommend Jerman's Painting.

    Affordable Solutions by Brian
I selected Affordable Solutions by Brian based on the reviews posted on Angie's List and I am so glad I did. I initially contacted Brian to estimate repairs to my basement and screened porch. But, by the end of our first meeting, we worked our way through my entire to-do list. Upon receipt of my estimate, Brian responded quickly to any questions. Because I felt confident that I had chosen the right professional contractor, I opted to accept the entire estimate. His team, Jeremy, Kevin and Jason arrived early each day prepared to start work on time. They were polite, efficient, thorough, and cleaned up at the end of each day. Brian and I discussed each day's progress and addressed any concerns along the way. Brian's goal is your satisfaction and I am happy with the end result. Look no further, choose Brian and his team, you will not be disappointed.

I met with Patrick O'Toole to review the work I needed to have completed. He was very friendly and appeared to be knowledgeable. Patrick told me he would have the man come to do the power washing within the next week and that it would be a few more weeks before the deck could be taken care of.  During our conversation Patrick indicated that the job would take two days and that he would have two people working on it.  A little over a week later I was contacted by the man who does the power washing.  He came out and did the job as planned.  He then told me that he would be out the next day to begin staining/painting the deck. The first two days the worker came out, but only stayed on site a short time as he was called out to do another job.  I changed my mind about the color which did set the work back about 5 hours.  Then there seemed to be some sort of a problem each day...it was too hot, he got tired, had to help out elsewhere, etc.  It ended up taking 8 days for the job to be completed.  This wouldn't have been a problem except that I have dogs and needed to keep them inside over this time period and it also held up other projects I had planned.  The quality of the work was okay.  I found a lot of runs and a wet line was not maintained.  Also, I asked on several occasions about a second coat as that was the product recommendation.  I was told that he would apply the product thick and that a second coat wasn't included in the price.  I also was left to pick up the cardboard, broom and paint that was left behind...so the work site was left a bit messy.  I was  concerned that the quoted price did not reflect the product recommendation.  Another concern was that the power washing caused the paint to come off the shutters.  It can be fixed with paint and I understand that these things happen, but I wish I was told (it was fairly obvious) rather than having me discover it on my own.
As part of the project a piece of siding was also to be replaced.  To date, this has not been completed.
