    Piano Man
at age 77 decided it was time to learn piano. Searched and found Sal Alfano, The Piano Man. he helped me find and purchase a keyboard. It was in excellent condition and at a fair price. In addition, he has been my teacher for three years. Because of his teaching style, patience and encouragement, sustained forward/upward progress is being made. I value the relationship that we've developed. Sal receives my highest recommendation.

Mary Handley is a hidden jewel. She is an extremely accomplished pianist, having performed with many prominent orchestras, including the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. She will gladly provide her resume, which is truly impressive. Having played professionally for years, she knows what it takes to perform, and she will teach those techniques to you or your children. Mary sends her piano and theory students to the prestigious Royal Conservatory of Music in Canada for examination. There is an examination fee which varies, depending on the level of the student. The examinations are held a couple of times a year at a couple of different locations in Niagara Falls, Ontario, by appointment. Our son also takes music theory with Mary, and it is amazing what he has learned. Mary teaches at her home in Amherst. Mary's fee is $50 an hour for piano and $25 for a 45 minute theory lesson. She has a teacher who teaches many of the beginning students in her home. His fee is $40 an hour.

Mr. Mekinulov is a wonderful teacher for the serious cello student (no beginners). He is a graduate of the Julliard School. He is the principal cellist for the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Many of his students have been accepted at various prestigious music schools. My son's playing and confidence have improved so much since beginning studies Mr. Mekinulov. I feel so lucky to have such a wonderful resource for him. Thank you! Mr. Mekinulov is very prompt. He expects a lot from his students.

Robert and his instructors, particularly Thomas Baum, have been teaching my 13-year-old son bass guitar for a couple of years now. They are all great instructors. My son really enjoys his lessons and always looks forward to going. The lessons are 30 minutes long and cost $16 each, which I believe is a great value. Payment for the entire month of lessons is required at the beginning of the month. Checks are made out to the individual instructor. There is a one-time $25 registration fee before your first lesson. Although they teach lots of kids from the very young through college, I've seen adults there taking lessons as well. Most of the instruction appears to be for guitar, but they also teach piano, keyboard, and drums. I know they also recently added a voice teacher, and have brought in a guitar teacher from California who also has extensive experience in record producing with some well known artists. He will teach guitar and record producing.

    Noteworthy Music
perfectly. My daughter had a previous teacher in NYS. The teacher was cruel, impatient, and ineffective in teaching my daughter piano, except as a performing robot, which my daughter excelled at, but was unhappy doing. My girl wants to learn music, from top to bottom. Noteworthy music treats my girl with kindness, intelligence, and patience. My daughter is happy, and I am happy as a result.
