    Hilltown Carpentry
We have had a successful experience with Bob King for several smaller projects in the past and decided to hire him for our new kitchen. We had selected and purchased our new cabinets and decided to go with Hilltown as our installer because of Bob's proven reliability, craftsmanship, and skill in custom carpentry. As part of our remodel, we had planned a custom, movable island to be outfitted for use by my husband, who is disabled. Bob successfully executed our initial design and then downsized it when we decided that it was too large. The end results are just beautiful. Bob's ability as a problem solver really stands out.

    Bennett Contracting Inc
The 2 carpenters- Ric (no longer w/Bennett, I understand) and Julian- were great. They showed up every day, cleaned up behind themselves each time and were easy and fun to work with. The job took about 4 weeks longer than planned- 4 mos instead of 3. I have no idea why. It wasnt mentioned, but by week 10, it was clear to me it wasnt getting done on time. Each time I asked- So, how much longer? I got a list of things yet to be done. The take away answer in my head each time was as long as it takes. So, thats how long it took. I was tired of the disruption, but, since I liked the guys, it was tolerable. It cost what was estimated except for a few unforeseen issues, such as a buried hunk of concrete where they were digging the foundation (probably left over treasure from the addition the prior owner did) an add-on job (replace front porch deck) and, for some reason, an additional $500 for the oversized kitchen counter (which was the same size it started out to be- so, not sure why that was a surprise). Minor problems were dealt with and solved without much problem (E.G. kitchen faucet hole was drilled too close to the edge of the counter- water wouldve overshot and hit the floor when I swung the faucet from side-to-side), so, I ended up with a soap dispenser in that hole- way better than waiting for a do-over!). I was not happy with how the excavator covered his tracks, because he left some big ruts in the yard and didnt put the rock retaining wall on the street back very well. I believe several of the rocks were left in the path of the big trucks, got crushed, and couldnt be put back. The returned portion of the rock wall isnt even with the untouched part of the wall. There was about a 1 ft dip from one part of the yard to the temporary access road created and used by the trucks during the project. I covered some of that with 2 yards of soil I bought the following spring, but with all the dirt they carted away from digging the foundation and the equipment they have, I think they couldve done a better job of grading the soil and saved me $100 for top soil (and some back pain.) As I understand it, the excavator was not part of Bennett- that part was contracted out. The only other issue was the letters from the town a year after the job was begun (June 2018) because Bennett forgot to get the last inspection done at the completion of the job (Oct 2017). No huge problem in the end, but the letters threatening legal action if I didnt respond and needing to call the PM a few times to get updates and a final inspection date so long after the fact was frustrating. However, overall, it turned out well and Im happy with the results. And, from what Ive heard and seen from others, for the size of the job, it went pretty smoothly and they took care of A LOT of details.

    V & S Tile LLC & Bathroom Remodeling Co
Sergey and his team are the best. From the initial consult to the final touches no detail was left to chance. We had an extremely tight budget and big ideas and Sergey was able to make it happen. He modified a very small bathroom to a slightly larger bathroom and updated our 1980's full bath to a timeless gem. Thank you!

    Kitchen Express Plus Corp
Were very happy with the work they did everything went as promised and were easy to work with. They removed the old cabinets sand installed the new ones in four days. Most of the time two men were working but to remove the cabinets there were a few. They kept the house clean and the cabinets look great, the price seemed very good to us, Two minor comments, they typoed the design and had to come out and remeasure, make sure you check the blueprint. Also they were prompt maybe a little too prompt came about 1/2 hour early on a couple of days

    C & M Home Improvement
We knew it would take a while to get on Matt's schedule, but it was worth the wait. Matt recommended a cabinet and tile place that he had a good relationship with. He finished the job in 3 weeks, as promised, and everything went well. We were gone most of the time he was working, which was good, as our place looked like a disaster zone. But when we needed to be there his guys cleared things out enough so we could use the place. Our new kitchen is beautiful and we love it. Matt charged $24,000. That did not include cabinets, tiles and appliances.

    American Kitchen and Bath Renewal
They were quick to return calls. Communications were excellent.  They were able to quote the kitchen redo in initial visit.  Installation was completed when estimated and installers were meticulous in their work and did everything contracted for.  I highly recommend them if you are looking for a quality cabinet product and professional installers.

    Kitchen and Bath World Inc
This is the second job we used this company for and they were again excellent.  We had a decaying, out-of-date bathroom and Kitchen and Bath World completely gutted and replaced it.  Sara was a big help in helping us to choose new stylistic and space-saving features, and Mike, who did all the work, was again the consummate professional.   If more were like him, no one would ever complain about their contractor.  I recommend this company without reservation.

    Atherton Painting & Construction LLC
Original price turned into more than doubled due to inherent issues with the bathroom structure.  The worker (one) worked his tail off, but some of the work needed to be redone due to some inexperience.  The final job is fine though.

    Jamcore Home Improvements
It went very well. Jim provided a detailed, professional 4 page breakdown estimate of each part of the job, as I requested, with
amounts due for each part including deposits and the due dates.  He was the only contractor I interviewed (of several) who did this. This way there are no problems later; everything is very clear in the beginning.
Jim was always on time, and worked with the highest professional standards of workmanship, accuracy, competence, and helpfulness. I was completely comfortable with him and he is very friendly and personable, which is a big plus in my book. (Other workers I have had in the past had no inter-personal skills - sullen, grumpy, sloppy, unfriendly, etc.)  I asked Jim for his input on several decisions and his answers were always good ideas. Each day before leaving he cleaned up completely and put everything back in place. Everything was done on schedule with no delays. He even did some extra things I had not asked him to do but that needed to be done,  with my consent, such as extra wall insulation.
His workmanship is excellent. The new kitchen is beautiful thanks to Jim Cole. He pays careful attention to small details and remembered some things I didn't know were important. When the cabinets arrived from the manufacturer one set of pantry doors was cut slightly askew. He sent them back and ordered new ones. I didnt have to worry about anything with Jim doing the work.
He did some extra things I had not asked him to do as well,  with my consent, that needed to be done
I highly recommend Jim Cole  and Jamcore Home Improvements for your next job.

    Pokey Construction
Steve from Pokey Construction is by far the best contractor I have worked with, both personally and professionally. He gutted our second floor bathroom and transformed it into a beautiful, functional space. He knew what would work well and what wouldn't. We liked all of his suggestions. Steve is an educated, skilled craftsman that did it all- the carpentry, the plumbing and electrical.
After he had carried the 115 lb bathtub up the stairs and placed it, he noticed a slight mark on the outside and suggested we get a replacement. The supplier delivered one the next day and Steve carried down the first tub and carried the replacement back up the stairs. I doubt we would have ever noticed the mark if he hadn't pointed it out; that's how detailed oriented and professional he is. He also uncovered mold and rot below a window and re-framed the area.  He does what is right, not what is convenient.
We never had a construction job done that we didn't dread, until we hired Pokey Construction. Steve shows up on time, leaves before dinner, but not before he cleans up the work area. We barely knew he was in our home unless we heard a power tool or a hammer. Steve was so efficient and hard working that he finished 1-1/2 days early!
Pokey Construction came highly recommended by two former co-workers. I showed his work to a neighbor and she had him do her kitchen. A little over a year has past and we've had time to use the remodeled bathroom,  we love it as much as the day he finished and would not change a thing.
