The 2 carpenters- Ric (no longer w/Bennett, I understand) and Julian- were great. They showed up every day, cleaned up behind themselves each time and were easy and fun to work with. The job took about 4 weeks longer than planned- 4 mos instead of 3. I have no idea why. It wasnt mentioned, but by week 10, it was clear to me it wasnt getting done on time. Each time I asked- So, how much longer? I got a list of things yet to be done. The take away answer in my head each time was as long as it takes. So, thats how long it took. I was tired of the disruption, but, since I liked the guys, it was tolerable. It cost what was estimated except for a few unforeseen issues, such as a buried hunk of concrete where they were digging the foundation (probably left over treasure from the addition the prior owner did) an add-on job (replace front porch deck) and, for some reason, an additional $500 for the oversized kitchen counter (which was the same size it started out to be- so, not sure why that was a surprise). Minor problems were dealt with and solved without much problem (E.G. kitchen faucet hole was drilled too close to the edge of the counter- water wouldve overshot and hit the floor when I swung the faucet from side-to-side), so, I ended up with a soap dispenser in that hole- way better than waiting for a do-over!). I was not happy with how the excavator covered his tracks, because he left some big ruts in the yard and didnt put the rock retaining wall on the street back very well. I believe several of the rocks were left in the path of the big trucks, got crushed, and couldnt be put back. The returned portion of the rock wall isnt even with the untouched part of the wall. There was about a 1 ft dip from one part of the yard to the temporary access road created and used by the trucks during the project. I covered some of that with 2 yards of soil I bought the following spring, but with all the dirt they carted away from digging the foundation and the equipment they have, I think they couldve done a better job of grading the soil and saved me $100 for top soil (and some back pain.) As I understand it, the excavator was not part of Bennett- that part was contracted out. The only other issue was the letters from the town a year after the job was begun (June 2018) because Bennett forgot to get the last inspection done at the completion of the job (Oct 2017). No huge problem in the end, but the letters threatening legal action if I didnt respond and needing to call the PM a few times to get updates and a final inspection date so long after the fact was frustrating. However, overall, it turned out well and Im happy with the results. And, from what Ive heard and seen from others, for the size of the job, it went pretty smoothly and they took care of A LOT of details.

From the start I should've recognized the warning signs. The first person who came and gave an estimate (Bill) quoted $3-$4,000. We agreed and he started the work. A week and a half in he'd only boxed out our egress window and did a little patching of the walls. We were already close to the estimated amount and had paid that. We were then told that Bill had to do some other work and another guy came to assess what needed done. He came and said he'd start the next day. Well, he never showed up and we were told he was no longer with the company. A third guy came (Tom) and he did more patching of the walls, boxed out doorways and tore out existing ceiling. He was an excellent worker. But now we have paid over $7000! When I asked Tom how much he anticipated it would cost to finish up the job he said "around the initial amount quoted." So that would mean the final amount would be upwards of about $11,000. So what we agreed on at $3-$4000 turned into at least $11,000. I fired them once I was told the final amount. What Todd Brower is doing is CRIMINAL. And to add to all of this, his workers did not put drop clothes down when doing the work and our basement floors are completely covered in white spackle/putty/plaster. DO NOT HIRE TODD JOBS unless you enjoy being ripped off, having different people do the job, have it take forever and for a mess to be left for you to clean up. I have never met a more unreliable, unprofessional contractor in all of my life.

The painting looks wonderful. One bedroom needed a lot of patch work done (teenage girl did a number on in hanging posters, etc). You can't see a thing. It looks like brand new sheet rock. Cutting in with an accent wall is perfect. Both baths are great too. In the laundry room, the paper was going to be removed. After consulting another person who does drywall, it was decided the paper had been put up on unsized walls. So, rather than gouge the sheetrock necessitating a lot of repair, they decided to skim the seams, prime it and paint over it. You would never know the paper is even there. Cabinets in that room were also painted. The workers were respectful of our time, courteous and reliable. We had an emergency with a flooded basement when they were here and they worked around it to get the job done. I would def recommend them and will use them again in the future.

Most of the work was done by John, and he was awesome-very prompt, very neat and worked with us throughout the project.  Plus he's a very nice person!  A good thing about this company is that their employees show up on time and do their best to do the work to your satisfaction. Also, we needed a repair due to the floor installation late in the process, and there was no problem in getting it taken care of.

I needed a major exterior wall repair done due to water damage.  I contacted Tony for an estimate and he professional and prompt with returning my call in a reasonable time frame.  He showed up as promised for the estimate, was very thorough in the details of what he would do and also offered some other advice on what to do.  Tony emailed me a written estimate later that day which was exact to what he said it was going to be.  I hired Tony to do the work and he showed up exactly at the agreed upon date/time.  Quality workmanship on the finished product.

Great! He got everything he said he would get done, done. I am really pleased with how everything turned out. When I originally called, I expected to leave a message but he answered the phone while hanging Sheetrock! He came to the house and gave me an estimate when he said he would, the price was more than fair and he got on it right away when I explained I had a deadline.

It went great we are extremely pleased with the outcome, especially with the tile floor. Instead of laying the tiles in a straight pattern they suggested a brick mold pattern which looks much better than the conventional straight pattern. Highly recommend.

It was not our plan to go through a full bathroom renovation before Christmas but a leak turned out to be something worse.  We have used Farrell Brothers two other times for heating and plumbing issues so when we found out that they would be able to do a full renovation we signed up.  Our full bath and 1/2 bath share a wall and plumbing so we decided to have both renovated during this job.  I set up the contract with Randy and picked out all the materials before the renovation started.  On the first day of the job I received a call that there was bad news (not surprising considering other things we've seen in our house since we bought it).  The wall between the bathrooms was completely rotted and need to come down.  So, that wall came out, the floor in the full bath was partially rotted due to years of water leaking so that came out, and the ceiling was coming out too since it was not in great shape. There was previously no access to the plumbing in either bathroom so they built that in. We have a window in the shower/tub of our full bath and it was not in good shape so that got replaced along with the framing of the window which was partially rotted. Everything was completely replaced in both bathrooms, toilets, sinks/vanities, flooring, lights. The heat run in the full bath was way too large for the size of the bathroom so Matt (the guy in charge of this job) cut that down to something smaller.   This entire process took 10 business days. It was slightly traumatic since we do not have another bathroom or shower and had to beg/borrow/steal shower time with friends.  It was totally worth it.  The bathrooms look incredible, beyond my expectations.  Farrell brothers was easy to work with.  This was our first large interior renovation so I don't have a frame of reference but wish I could upload photos to show the difference.

We could not have been more pleased with how this part of our remodeling project went. Mr. Daigle arrived on time each day, went right to work, thoroughly cleaned up and overall, did an outstanding job installing and taping the sheetrock.. He was very professional in performing the work and pleasant to deal with. He made it a very positive experience and as a result, we would highly recommend him to anyone needing this type of work.

My phone call was returned and the next day he showed up and looked the job over. He was going to price the materials needed forthe job and call me back with a price . Two days later I received a call with the price and when he could do it. They showed up promptly when they said they would and finished the job when they said they would.  Very nice to work with and plan to use them again.
