    Exit5 Auto Group
Exit 5 in Latham recently did work on my car and when I got it back my car was leaking oil. They did things that were not authorized and they killed year old motor. They wouldn't even fix the 1000 part they put in md y car that was under factory warranty. I wouldn't trust them with any car. Poor customer service. They reminded me of slimy used car sales men. Talked to the owner and he wouldn't do anything. This costed me my car and 4000 dollars worth of work and the car had to be sold for whole sale. The killed my Subaru. This is a discussion for court!

They do good work and are knowledgeable, but I wouldn't recommend them because they push services not required by the manufacturer, such as transmission oil and brake fluid changes. In addition, on one of my cars they proposed lubricating my brake calipers - something that based on internet research is not necessary except in rare circumstances. They changed an air filter and cabin air filter, and charged me $100. The two parts at local stores are about $40, so I think the total cost including labor was excessive.

Service person failed to properly close access door on shield below engine. As a result, shield was damaged when door flew open. Manager gave me a hard time about replacement, claiming that I was better off without the shield. Then he tried to convince me to put a used shield on. I had to contact area manager to get satisfaction.

WARNING ABOUT THIS COMPANY!!! This is the third contact my family has had with this company since March 2016. We visited three different locations, a) Latham, NY for a muffler repair, b) in Albany, NY for new tires and c) Saratoga Springs, NY for a tire repair and a NY State inspection. In each case, the service manager attempted to convince us that additional repairs were necessary for inspection, such as replacing both control arms (cars has 80,000 miles on it) and full replacement of brake rotors (only pads were actually needed), a complete exhaust system for $1800 vs. the actual repair after haggling, which was over $600. In the case of the replacement of all four tires and balancing, the service manager attempted to convince me that my right front CV joint boot had torn and needed replacement. This was two weeks after I had a 100,000 mile service at a reputable service station. At that time, I was assured that my entire drive train had been checked and was sound. It is clear that the company itself is encouraging their service managers to "pad" their estimates. All three service managers at three different locations employed the same subterfuge to attempt to induce a higher repair bill.

It is a car dealer. Everything was very sloppy, and disorganized, and didn't seem like anybody knew all of all of what needed to be done. I don't know if the Lincoln part is new to them so maybe they are getting used to it. It wasn't as professional as I expected. I wasn't really that impressed with the service.

    Caruso's Auto Repair Inc
I was in need of a auto service that could do a timing belt replacment on my 2002 Acura MDX. Caruso's had a great rating on Angie's list and when I called them they were great to talk to. The quote that Joel gave me was better than the dealership and so much more friendly. While at the shop they called to tell me that the front  struts were in bad shape. I ok'd them to fix that also. They were able to do the timing belt and the strut replacement all in one day. After I picked it up and drove a little bit I noticed a squeaking nose from the front end. I took it back to them and Caruso's stated that they would have to put in for a warranty replacement for one of the struts. They got the replacement part and a few days later I brought it back for service. I had a good experience using Caruso's auto and would definately use them again.

They performed the oil change but were unable to find the cause of the rattle which they did not hear when they test drove it. The rattle seems to be slowly getting worse so i try again in a few weeks, i now these kind of issues are hard to find.

They were the only ones that came back with a quote. They called me and told me about the car. They gave me the accessories at their cost. They had the car within two days. They gave me a really good price. There were a lot of incentives. There was a little scratch on it and they offered to fix it. I decided not to buy that car and they got me a different one right away. It has all of the bells and whistles. I was very happy with them. I thought that they were going to tell me to take a hike when I decided not to buy the other car. They did not do that. I would use them again.
