The Brothers That Just Do Gutters
These guys were fantastic from start to finish -- their communication was excellent (via text and phone which was super helpful), they showed up when they said they would, and their work was absolutely top-notch.

I saw their name  on Angie's List and at the same time, my handyman suggested I call them as several of his customers used them and were very happy with their work. I called and the  gentleman who comes and gives the estimates, came the next day at a time that was good for me. He was friendly, polite, professional and straight to the point. He gave me an estimate of $400 for both sides of my house [80 ft]. When I asked about whether they were enclosed or what was used to stop leaves building up, he said that wasnt included in the original price and then explained what options were available. I chose the screening, which was  aprox. $250. I had to have some extention guters to feed the water away from my neighbors driveway and mine also. Which was a little extra. However, after the 10% discount from Angie's List and then he cut the price by a little more, it brought it down to $650. They came  when they said they would. They started working immediately. The man who gave the estimates [I assume the owner / boss] was right there with his men. He said they would be done in 2 hrs and they were. They were reasonably quiet, quick and cleaned up as they went. I would definitely recommend them, especially if you are on a fixed income [retired] and wanted good work at a great price.

    Minor Home Repair co
I want to mention upfront that my house is a 1930 house where it appears that multiple previous owners did most of their own house repairs which i believe is self-explanatory in regards to the condition of my house.  That  being said, Don is a very talented craftsman. Handyman does not fit the level of his skills, work ethics or his business sense that has him putting the needs of his customers before the dollar. That includes being honest and upfront about issues or problems with the job, followed up by any alternative options of what can be done. Punctual, professional, friendly and a very detail oriented person. Cleans up as he goes. He has done work at my home a couple times and always leaves his work area clean before he leaves. He comes prepared with materials for possible unexpected issues. His prices are very fair and with the highly skilled work he does, makes the prices' value even better. After  a number of failed attempts to hire a handyman, I contacted Don and have been nothing but happy with all his work. I do wish I had found him first, it would have saved me a lot of time and some frustration.

The Brothers That Just Do Gutters
Workman showed up on time. New gutters look good. Waiting to see how well the gutter guards and heat tape work. Cleaned up work site as promised. Only complaint was some of the shrubs were mangled and branches broken off. Also found it surprising that they did not show up with enough of the blank material that they were forming the gutters with and had to send one worker to get more resulting in a bit of delay at the job site.

    Remodeling Concepts

This project involved a historic stone building, built in the 1700's, and located in a designated historical district. (Just for a little background, this building was burned by the British in 1777.) Everything went very smoothly for a project of this complexity. Derek and his crew are all very professional and he has a contract that clearly spells out all rights, responsibilities and remedies available to the contractor and property owner. I've been in property management for over 25 years and this is the first time I've seen this. I've dealt with a lot of contractors over the years and I can't think of one that comes close to the excellent experience that I've had with Derek and his employees.

Everything was completed, weather permitting, in a timely manner. All debris was removed and the site was left in perfect condition.

He will also go above and beyond in order to get the job done right. In this instance, he had to bring I a heavy duty lift to safely perform the highest work. Unfortunately the weight of the lift broke some of the bluestone walkway that surrounds the building. Derek never tried to skirt responsibility and it was decided, after talking to the city building inspector, that the affected stretch of sidewalk would be fully replaced with an asphalt surface. After it was finished he sent me a pic and the work was excellent.

HOWEVER, a couple days later the Dept of Public Works came by and said it all had to come up and be replaced by bluestone. The city, thankfully, would supply the stone. Now, mind you, this was in no way Derek's fault. He had gotten prior approval from the building dept. That notwithstanding, the beautiful brand new asphalt sidewalk was removed and replaced by Derek.

In my opinion, after dealing with many contractors over the years, you'll not find a more professional, competent or skilled contractor than Remodeling Concepts and Derek Loughran. I used him again for a rather large roofing job on another building and the experience was also excellent. I'll be posting a separate review for that project. These projects are not our last ones together.

I hired ez flow to clean my roof based on the excellent reviews on this site. The people I spoke with on the phone as well as in preparing the quote were very professional and easy to deal with. There were some issues with the quality of the job when complete- issues I might not have been able to completely identify. Rob the owner proactively contacted me to inform me and apologize. He said it was a unique outcome and not up to his quality standards. He then proceeded to remedy the situation all at his own cost (it was very expensive to him). All the while, he stayed in constant communication and went above and beyond my expectations.

The result was a high quality job. I see why his reviews are better than most/all. I would use him going forward for any projects as he proved to be a very honorable business person.

    Five Star Exteriors Inc
Joe at Five Star worked with us to prepare a scope of work and estimate, and was creative in generating a scope of work that addressed all of the issues yet kept the project within our budget. I was pleased that the work commenced within a couple of weeks of signing the contract, and Five Star put a competent and large enough crew on the job that the work was successfully completed within a few days. The work was well done, the crews were highly competent, and the job site was cleaned well upon completion. The agreed upon estimate was met with no overages, exceptions or hidden charges.
Joe was a pleasure to work with, and I highly recommend his crews and his company.

    Kingston Seamless Gutters
This was the low cost estimate for my job.
Showed up when he promised me.
Did the work and everthing met expectations.
At the first rain, some two weeks later, all of the corner joint on the gutters leaked.
Was promised a return visit several times but since my waife and I both work, I don't know that he ever came back.
In any case, the gutters never stopped leaking.
Repeated calls and messages went un returned.
Article appeared in Poughkeepsie Journal indicating that MANY other customers had problems with this contractor.
I filed a complaing with the NYS attorney generals office but my leaking gutters remain.
I would never use this contractor again.
