  • Had a bit of a wait in the waiting area. (40 min or so). The eye dr. was pleasant and seemed thorough although he made it easy for me to leave without dilation saying I could come back anytime for that. Since I had been there a while I chose to leave and do that when I picked up the glasses. Glasses were expensive as usual, I got nice frames, but was informed I had to make an appointment for the dilation. So I left, having some trouble seeing distance, but thought it was due to new eye prescript and I would get use to it. To make a long story short I came back after the timeframe for returning due to problems with prescript, and had to pay for the lenses again. ($180 with a discount already deducted. (Dr. told me there would be little if any improvement, but the improvement was almost 100 percent) I'm not sure, but I thought I asked if it would be alright to get the dilation when I called and got a positive available which reaction, but that didn't happen, again I needed an appointment. Going back for that next week. They are very willing to do what is needed and good in regards to getting info on insurance . However, the wait each time was 40 min or more before being seen and there is noticeable lack of communication between staff. I would prefer trying another optical office, but feel they do, in the end, supply what is needed.

  • ked at. The fear of loosing my eye was immense. I am a photographer.
The very good retina specialist in Albany, found the retina severely detached and torn, but so far gone past the macula of the eye
that emergency operation was not going to change the odds.
I got scheduled for an operation, and the retina was found torn in seven places. The eye was  saved but will never be the same. A retina detachment is routine if caught in time.
Mine, neglected, misdiagnosed, resulted in an hour and a half operation with cataracts to come, and with a distortion in the vision
field of the eye that will never go away.
Dr. Hanovice should have sent me to the specialist right away. He is a very nice guy who made a very bad mistake and it cost me the
integrity of my vision for ever!
The above account has been dictated to me by my husband. I shared in the anxiety & trauma of long (3mos) recovery, and the expense.

  • .Dr. Adalman and his staff are very through in doing every test to determine everything is functioning as expected after my eye surgery.  He and his staff are very friendly and professional.  Patient has every opportunity  to ask  whatever questions he/she has about their care.

  • I was impressed by Dr. Hanovice's "bedside manner." I didn't feel rushed. I did feel like he listened to my issues and considered them thoughtfully. In addition, his staff was friendly and efficient.

  • At my first visit, a technician did a refraction. She determined a prescription which left me with blurred vision. I then saw the doctor. She checked the health of my eyes. We then discussed the ptosis and how it would be repaired. I scheduled my next visit to prepare for the ptosis surgery. My next visit was at the Kingston office where a specialist gave me some tests. After sending these results to the insurance company, the surgery was scheduled. That was done at an outpatient facility that didn't even have a bathroom for people in the waiting room to use. But, once inside, everything went smoothly. I had a follow up the next day, I had a very long wait to see the doctor. Another follow up a week later, another long wait. My six week follow up was made first thing in the morning so there was no wait. I had a long discussion with the doctor about how awfully the practice is run. She agreed and was attentive, took notes and I'm sure is interested in improving it.

  • My overall experiences have been excellent. She corrected my cataracts so she has performed two surgeries on my eyes. She is an excellent physician because she is very caring and she concentrates solely on you when she is with you; you get the feeling that she listens to what you have to say.
