    The movers loaded the truck quickly while in D.C. Unfortunately, they arrived shortly before 5:00pm (left D.C. at 9:00am), due to traffic and rainy weather, causing my new co-op building to charge me a fee for moving in outside of regulated hours. Also, a few of my belongings were damaged (CDs, a lampshade) due to them not being properly secured in the truck. Apparently, the bungie cord came undone and the boxes rattled around for the duration of the trip. Real Deal Movers sent me a cheque to cover the damages, which was very considerate of them. All in all, the movers were friendly and professional, and I'd use the company again, if I could.

    The Right Move 4U.
    They were very good. They wrapped my stuff very well. Once he got there he asked me for tips for the workers. I found that a little strange. If I had to use them again, I would ask them up front if that includes the tip for the workers.

    Burke Light Moving Inc
    I wouldn't recommend him. He was okay, but I used him because he was going to move direct. I did not want my furniture to go to storage. When he got here he had an assistant with him, but he needed additional people and he just got people from off the street. They picked it up and drove overnight, straight through. It was there the next day. Once they got there they had to unload it, which took the whole day, so they were really exhausted. Some of my floors got scratched. If they had stopped, they would have been better rested for the job. They extended themselves too much. I do not think anyone could do a good job when they are that tired.  I did not have any problems contacting them or them responding. If I had to move again, I would look for someone else. The workers were courteous.

    Shea Moving is everything I was looking for in a mover. Julie Shea is a down-to-earth real person who had my concerns uppermost in her mind throughout the two weeks from estimate to move-in. I must have called her a dozen times, and each time she reassured me that what I was concerned about was no problem. Shea's men are friendly, professional, and hard-working (i.e., not "grunts"). Again, real people. I needed to have them out of the new building by 5:00 PM or I would lose my refundable move-in deposit, and they moved heaven and earth to meet that deadline with time to spare. They performed a miracle by managing to get an impossibly large couch in the elevator. They reassembled everything that they had to disassemble -- except for the bookcase shelving, which Julie herself took care of a few days later. (That might have made the difference between being done by 5:00 or not.) There aren't enough stars to give Shea Moving. (My cost-of-service includes an 18% gratuity, which I was very happy to pay.)

    This company's level of service and competence is what EVERY company in the U.S. should strive for. Too bad moving is such a rarity because I would be very happy to work with them again.

    I cannot praise them enough - Mike my main point of contact, Ari the foreman of the load out and every person that answered the phone and provided updates along the way.

    They did everything they said they would exactly when they said they would. Exactly what you want in a mover! No surprise costs, no drama. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Courteous and professional. I contacted another well regarded mover and the cost would have been $250 more so I also think I got great pricing.

    Best moving experience I've ever had. The guys were speedy, efficient, polite, and careful withour stuff. Flat rate is for real - no hidden charges or last-minute extras. Communication was excellent. Price was remarkably low, especially given the quality of the service.

    I recently performed a move with Roadway Moving and my family and I could not be happier with the way were treated by their entire staff. I have been transferred to Los Angeles with little notice from work and had to research transportation companies. With a tough work schedule, father of 2 children, and husband to a wife who just got used to living in New York, the task of searching for a quality company was appearing to be a difficult one. I did extensive research through the Department of Transportation, Google Reviews, Yelp, Angie's List, the Better Business Bureau, and other reviews sites and came up with a very short list of what appeared to be reliable moving companies. I called Roadway and 2 other companies for quotes. I spoke to Chris at Roadway and explained my situation of being taken advantage of before with a company that held my items hostage after a large price increase. I mentioned to him I was on a tight relocation budget and could not exceed it because of other expenses needed to be paid out in California. He eased my mind tremendously explaining that Roadway's prices are guaranteed and would not change as long as all information had stayed the same. He arranged for a walk through with Ben from the company within 2 days from the initial call. Ben was on time, pleasant to my family (even my dog who would not stop begging to be played with), and very detailed when it came to his proposal. Chris and Ben were always responsive through email and phone calls when it came to my many questions on the move. All of the 3 quotes obtained were within $500 of each other so I chose Roadway based on the interactions with everyone so far. My move was near 5 thousand dollars and included packing. Customer service confirmed my move 2 days prior and it felt much more comfortable than my previous moves. Mitch with 4 other gentlemen arrived on move day in Roadway uniforms and were all very pleasant in their appearance (a first in my experiences). The type of men who have come over to my homes in previous moves were never in company uniforms and literally looked to be as if they were day labor. Mitch and crew labeled, packed, inventoried, and loaded all my belongings within 5 hours and with their attention to detail I was certain my items would get to California safely. 3 days after the move I received an email and a call explaining when my items were scheduled to arrive, phone number to the driver, and explanation of how I can pay my final balance. I spoke to Stacey in customer service who reconfirmed my delivery window and took my final payment by credit card. The driver called me 48 and 24 hours prior to delivery with his ETA for delivery so my family and I can plan for his arrival. Once the delivery arrived the crew set up all my goods, reassembled all the furniture, and did light unpacking services. When leaving my home looked as if I have been living here already for months. They took all of the debris that comes with unpacking and wished me well at my new home. I certainly will be moving again in about 2 years and will make sure to call Roadway moving to bring my family and I to the East Coast. I deeply thank all of their staff for the wonderful service I received and for making it smooth relocation for my family and I.

    All American Van Lines Inc

    All American Van Lines did a great job.  Chase, Barry and Frank arrived on time.  They were very careful with all items and very professional.  We ended up with more boxes than our in-home estimate predicted.  However, they completed the job in less time than was contracted for.  They did an amazing job. 

    In addition, two weeks after our move, I called All American to see if they could dispose of items that were supposed to go to charity.  It was the end of the month and we needed immediate assistance.  James not only found a crew to help us that day, but he honored the price that was provided with our estimate.  We ended up not needing their assistance for disposal.  I cannot say enough that James went out of his way to get us service on such short notice.  When I informed him that the charity did indeed pick up the items, James was happy for us.  He could of been upset that he made such an effort and we did not use them.  Instead, he was gracious, professional and wished us the best of luck with our new home. 

    All American is a company that I would use again and one that I highly recommend.

    They were excellent. The person who came to give me a quote, I asked him about the storage. He told me not to store it up because it was too far away. He said that it will cost me more. He told me that if I need storage, I should go to a local company. He's very professional. He tried to save me money by not getting the storage fee. He's honest and helpful. The only things that were damaged were very fragile things. The furniture was in good shape. They did a good job in every account.
