Alex was great to work with. He was prompt, helpful, and professional. My chairs were literally falling apart, and he did an expert job of repairing them at a reasonable price. Pick-up and delivery were free. I would definitely use him again.

    Floating Piano Factory
I have been looking for a piano tuner for some time since my last tuner retired.  Given this, my piano was more than a year overdue for a tuning.  I found Floating Piano on the internet and took a chance.  I made an appointment with Tom, who was listed on their website.  It was convenient to make the appointment as everything was done on line.  Tom immediately went to work  and very competently tuned the piano.  He told me that my piano was in good shape given that I had missed a few tunings.  The price for the tuning was very reasonable and I was extremely happy with the final result.  I intend to schedule Tom for all future tuning that is needed for the piano.  He's a great find.

I cannot speak to their service except when it comes to collecting money as they are not responding to phone calls or emails.
On the other hand our 4 machines are working.  The dryers now run for more time that no one asked for.

    Oscar Deco Inc
I hired O-DECO to produce custom-made doors for a built-in 110" clothing closet that is currently covered by basic curtains.  I showed them pictures of my vision for my very small space.  I needed mirrors to brighten my poorly lit apt, but did not want to go with standard Home Depot or IKEA stuff.  I wanted something special. Oscar and Andrew are both highly talented; they took measurements and provided me with a number of color samples based on my current decor and the wood they would be using.  They also took into great consideration that I did NOT want to mess with or dismantle the current molding.
Oscar is as much of a designer and curator as he is a woodworker and has lots of ideas and suggestions for materials & finishes before beginning a job.  He doesn't push these things on you; he just has ideas you'd never have thought of that make complete sense.  Andrew handles the client end -- he's highly intelligent, uber-responsible in returning calls & emails, and is constant touch with Oscar to provide solid answers in a very timely manner.  There is a certain tango of each talent that makes things run smoothly.
No. It is is not a cheap project.  But it's a difficult project no less.  The doors have yet to be installed, and I've probably driven these guys nuts with questions & re-assurances on one occasion or another, but if this family-run business doesn't make you feel at least like a close cousin, I'm sure there are few out there who will.  Very warm, professional, easy-going.  Both being kind, flexible drop-dead gorgeous, intellectual and artistic on so many levels surely doesn't hurt.  I'm very excited about the project at hand, have a few more things in mind and could not recommend OscarDECO.  I will update with before & after pix once the work is complete.

I had went into Home Depot and found a refrigerator that I liked. I went home and ordered it online and said it would take 3 weeks to deliver. I found out that the model I had purchased had been discontinued and they still had it on the website. I had to choose another refrigerator because they no longer made anything smaller than 18 cubic foot. I believe it is wiser to deal with a sales person at the store so that way they will know if the item is available.

The salesman at Sears was very accessible and put me at ease when I was buying my stove. He helped me get a Sears card to save and told me if I waited until next week I would save more money. I would say when shopping at sears pay attention to the sales promotions.

Extremely pleased with the work, particularly since the big store that I bought the original $1700 sofa from just couldn't help at all. (Although they still stocked the same product and work with the same vendor, it had changed fractionally in the seven years since I bought it; the fabric ours was in had been discontinued - basically it would have cost a fortune even if the companies involved wanted to help and it was clear that they didn't.) The turnaround was four days, the cushions look like new and I feel that the price was reasonable considering the expertise and equipment needed to do the tufting. They were also extremely personable. A really good experience that made me sorry that I wasted my time and energy on going back to the original retail outlet that sold me the sofa to try to get help.

I had a few hiccups along the way - a dented unit, my first choice being a tiny bit too big for the space, so had to choose a different dishwasher - but although those delays were frustrating, everyone at PC Richards (the sales rep and the different delivery and installation guys) were very helpful. On-time, friendly, calling when they said they would, made it easy first to reschedule the installation and then to get a different model, etc. My only complaint was the first installation being canceled because they said they only realized the unit was damaged after they left the warehouse - leaving me at home waiting for nothing. After that initial mistake on their part, though, they handled the incident well.
