    Crown Construction Inc
It started 5/7/18 and is not done yet. There have been numerous mistakes in ordering material, very poor quality work, damage to our lawn and landscaping, work site not cleaned up, no follow through in resolving problems. Communication is non-existent. Nothing has gone the way we were told it would. This project has been a disaster.

    KC Construction
Everything went fairly smoothly. They did a nice job with the siding. I would have liked them to be a bit more thorough picking up after themselves every day (i.e., I found several nails and/or other sharp objects around the house which is problematic when you have pets). In the end I felt like they were rushing to finish because the job ended up taking longer than expected due to the lead crew member being consistently pulled off the job to cover for another employee with an absenteeism issue.

    KT Construction
They have done such a beautiful job. I got them off Angie's List and I was extremely happy with the work. It was a big project. He did everything he promised and a couple of extra things that I came up with while they were here. But they were on time and very conscientious and courteous when they were here. They kept the place clean and their workmanship is beautiful. I have already talked to them about my kitchen remodel. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

    KT Construction
KT Construction worked with us to define what we needed done, defined what options were available, created designs based on our descriptions, acquired materials and did the work as we discussed. We are pleased with the results and the conduct of the work. The cost of the work was fair and competitive, and included working with us to purchase some items directly, and other items on our behalf. Any concerns we had were addressed immediately and to our satisfaction. We highly recommend KT Construction.

    KT Construction
It went very good and at a reasonable price. I had two previous contractors I had to let go. Then we found KT construction, they did a great job and were the first contractors that were respectful of our home and of us while they were there. I interviewed many contractors in the Ithaca area and found Kelly to be the most trustworthy. I wanted to also thank Bob and Zack for their great work as well.

    Sunset Exterior
They do mainly vinyl siding and they are excellent. They have wonderful equipment and they are very competitive. They cleaned up every day after they were done and they completed the job within schedule. They were very flexible and the job came out really nice.

    Crown Construction Inc
I had a guy come on Wednesday to give me an estimate for the siding repair work I needed, and since he quoted $180 for the job (he said most likely, assuming it didn't take more than 2 hours), I signed the contract and asked how soon it could be done.  He told me sometime within two weeks, but he would try to squeeze me in sooner.  The siding guy called me at 8am this morning and asked if he could stop by around 9 or 10 to do the work.  I was thrilled! After he worked for a little while, he called me outside to say there was a problem because the spare pieces I had were bent and cracked in several places and that there wasn't enough to do the job.  I asked him to just cut off the bad pieces from that and salvage the good pieces from the stuff that fell down and see if there was enough to finish that way.  He was able to finish and did an extremely good job with the pieces he had.  He was able to get it all done for $180 estimate, which made it even better.  He was extremely polite and willing to work with my needs.

    ASI Renovations
ASI were a pleasure to work with. They did an excellent job. But they also get an "A" for the many other things that they did:
All my questions (even the dumb ones) were taken seriously. We discussed the work to be done, and both of us signed a contract specifying exactly what we had agreed on, the price and the timeframe. This gave me peace of mind, as I knew it would not end up like other projects (by different contractors) where the cost kept rising, and the end date of the project somehow kept getting extended.
When the inevitable unexpected snags that occur in any project came up, ASI worked hard to take care of things, without any fuss at all. The workers were all nice, regular guys who came on time, did the job they were supposed to do, and cleaned up after themselves.
I would highly recommend this company-they are a breath of fresh air to deal with.

    Colgan Construction
Mr. Colgan freed the door (which had become jammed in a damaged frame), removed several rotten boards from around the doorway, and installed a moisture barrier around the doorway. Then he built a new frame and rehung the door. For this work, which included some off-site priming, we were billed for about 30 hours' labor (at $39 per hour), or $1160, plus about $560 for materials (with $140 tax, the total bill was $1860). The project was not completed (we were told that would have cost more, and he would not give an estimate for the additional cost or time to completion), and all garbage and debris (rotten boards, dirty rags, and so on) were left in our yard and car port. Ultimately we paid $1860 for a partially reinstalled door (we reused the original door). During the roughly two weeks the project was ongoing, we requested an estimate for the total cost several times, but he would not give one. Finally, the project was terminated (though unfinished; there are still gaps around the door on both sides, rough wood protruding in several places, and the rotten siding and trim that was removed has not yet been replaced). It had already cost much more than anticipated and there appeared to be no upper limit on further charges, especially for labor. Mr. Colgan seemed willing to continue the work only on an open-ended basis, without providing even a rough estimate of the total time and cost to completion. Given that the work done so far was both slower and more costly than expected, this was not acceptable, and we are hiring another carpenter to complete the job. Update: After hiring another carpenter to finish the job, we still have a large amount of lumber and other materials (for which we were billed by Mr. Colgan) remaining in our car port (see photo below). What Mr. Colgan was planning to use these for is unclear; there is no space remaining around the door for any additional lumber, and the carpenter we hired to complete the project used only those materials left on-site by Mr. Colgan.

    PJB Contracting LLC
It went perfectly from start to finish. Quotes were accurate, work was conducted in a timely and considerate fashion. PJB advised on various other home improvement concerns and recommended skilled people who turned out to be excellent (for example, for drywall repair).
