I was impressed that he was so meticulous. His work is excellent. He responded quickly, he stuck to his estimate , and he completed his work quickly. He also did a few extra things without charge.

Entire project went as planned. Contractor inspected the project and presented a quote and time frame. Workers showed up as scheduled. Demolition was carefully done with tarps and dust barriers appropriately placed. Demolition debris was quickly removed. Reconstruction began as planned and completed in an orderly manner including replacing of the previously removed crown molding. The crew cleaned every evening before leaving the job site. The project was completed on schedule and looks great. There were a few minor scope changes that were discussed, priced and easily worked into the project. The entire project was completed in a little over three weeks. We were very pleased with the professionalism of the crew, cost control, attention to detail and cleanliness. We would highly recommend this contractor.

The house was purchased in January 2013.  We called four contractors and and Norb Miller was selected,  based upon his estimate and how he inspected the house and offered solutions.  He began work in April 2013.  As demolition was underway we experienced a need to change original outline of work on kitchen flooring as well as in other areas of the remodeling work. This increased the cost of the the original estimate.  His expertise and on how to approach the work was right on target.  He understood at what level we wanted to maintain the remodeling work.  The house needed major upgrades to meet code and it was done well and met final inspection.   Mr. Miller did many additional pieces of work to improve the situation that went above and beyond estimated work.   A fire wall was required in the basement for the garage and he finished both sides of the wall.  Another example of above the effort was with the installation of the wall between the kitchen and living room.  He heard me say that I did not like the open room concept because of noise and the house had a two-story entryway so sound can carry.   He installed the wall and to lessen the noise added insulation to the wall to reduce sound between rooms.   This wall also required an extension to meet the new kitchen design.  His team installed all the kitchen cabinets and appliances and took care of issues regarding any damaged material.  He added decorative headers in the hallway to define it, etc.  Mr. Miller quickly learned the color scheme and I let him choose the tile for the back splash in the kitchen and for the tile around the fireplace.  He handled overseeing the installation of a new gas fireplace in the house and coordinated the installation with the provider.  He took on little things to make sure the house would stand against the elements.  For example, there was a downspout that ended on the deck, Mr. Miller, made sure the spout drained through the deck and away from the house.  He saw that a gutter needed to be replaced on the back of the house and did this work so the integrity of house could be maintained. Working with Norb Miller was very easy.  The main thing about this renovation/remodeling job was that it was done from a distance and he guided me in what needed to be ordered and when.  Periodically I would meet with Mr. Miller at the site to go over work and next steps, but I could confidently walk away and know the work would be done.  We communicated by telephone and email.  He really cares about his clients.  For example, I needed to order two light fixtures for the kitchen.  I found a style I liked, however, the store did not have two of the same, so I ordered my second choice.  When I met with Norb, the lights were up in the kitchen and I just mentioned that I had originally picked  some others, but could not figure out a way to get them since the pick-up store did not have two.  When I saw pictures of the kitchen on Angie's List, I saw the lights had been changed to my first choice.  Now that is above and beyond--but it is consideration and understanding of a client.  He suggested storm doors for the house and I let him make the selection because I knew he would make a sound choice.  He has a good understanding of his clients and is able to  ascertain their likes, dislikes and does not offer solutions that are out of line, but are good and functional.  Mr. Miller has been back to adjust items as we have found them that were part of the job and has done so to make sure the job was done right. We would definitely use Mr. Miller's company again.

Dry wall was replaced; a large area of tile was put down and waxed; painting and finishing touches were done.  The workmen were quite personable and very patient having to deal with any number of different people who came through the church while they were working.  Norb worked around some building usage issues, which was very helpful.  Overall, it was an excellent experience.

Milton installed new hardscape around the trees in the backyard & the garage. He maintains the lawn weekly & does a great job with the lines in the grass & blows off the sidewalk & driveway for us as well! They also installed new carpet in the family room in the basement, installed porch railings on the front porch, painting the interior of the house for us with great ideas on colors & products especially with an allergy dog, he was very considerate of the smell & made sure all my dogs needs were addressed with the painting in the house. We also had the kitchen & laundry room ceramic tile completed by ABG Contracting, it turned out great! We are in love with it still! I look forward to having him complete our kitchen addition & roof in the spring! The designs for the landscaping exceeded my expectations & The guys were extremely polite, thorough and professional! I'd use them again in a heartbeat!! Competitive pricing & very quick to get the work complete if you are on a deadline! ABG Contracting was very prompt and courteous!

    Finishing Touch
The guy is Joe Yurschak and he is doing some roofing for me currently. I have an apartment building that has two small roofs that were old, so he ripped off the old ones and put new ones on, as well as some re-shingling on that roof and some of the other roofs. He has also done painting for exterior and interior and tire work. I also have another guy who I use for roofing for apartment building that are very high up and I have one guy who does general carpentry and poach roofs. Everything with them is excellent and if they were terrible I wouldn't still be using them. I think their pricing is very reasonable.

Roofing was installed, new floors were put in, including the complete structural framing, electrical and plumbing was installed, dry wall, and painting, you name it, and it was part of this project until it was finished. This contractor played a major role in seeing to it that the planning was done correctly, supplies needed were ordered and purchased, and then scheduled the projects to be completed in the proper order and with excellent supervision. And, everything was done with excellence.

It all began with a very tired-looking kitchen. I didn't have high expectations for the "wow" factor, but I was wrong. I ended up "wowed" by the contractor, the extremely reasonable cost and my new kitchen. One of the things I liked most about working with Tom was his insistence on quality. He knows the right way to do things and doesn't cut corners. He's very picky about the finished product. It was almost a contest to see how precisely his mitered corners would come together. Tom is very knowledgeable so he can anticipate and point out problems. Our kitchen design called for the plumbing to go along the wall behind the cabinets and bend around behind a corner cabinet to reach the dishwasher. I never thought about it, but what if a pipe behind the cabinets sprung a leak? Thanks to Tom's recommendation, the dishwasher ended up next to the sink so the plumbing is now accessible. The change meant moving the electrical box for the stove and the ceiling exhaust ducts to the other side of the kitchen, but his crew did that quickly and efficiently. And his recommended changes actually resulted in more usable countertop space. Bonus! Another great thing is that when he gets a sense of what you like, he suggests options you may not have known about. When he mentioned that I might want to check out some vinyl tiles that looked like stone and were groutable, I turned my nose up, but looked at them anyway. They were perfect! The result looks very high end and our guests have even asked if we put in heated floors because the tile doesn't get cold under foot. In the end, these little touches made the kitchen look upscale and expensive, when it wasn't. My husband works nights and Tom was very accommodating, moving his work hours to match our schedule. He and his crew always arrived promptly when expected. His attitude is 100% "No problem, can do." He means it, and delivers. Having a full kitchen installed in under a week was unbelievable and far exceeded my expectation. Tom and his crew are friendly, customer focused people. They are always looking at what's best for the homeowner and go out of their way to fulfill requests for the extra little things you think of along the way. And at the end of the day, he checks around to make sure his crew cleaned up the work site before heading home. It's service with a smile that left us smiling, too.

We are 12 years into a whole house rebuild, most of which we had done ourselves. Unfortunately, we ran out of youth. We had the master bath left to do and just couldn't find a starting place. We heard about Frank Pentz and asked him to come over and talk to us about the things he could do for us and the parts we wanted to do ourselves. Even though it is probably more difficult to do bits and pieces of a project, Frank did not hesitate and worked with my husband to get the project to exactly where we wanted it to be. He was personable and enjoyable to work with. He is competent and capable. He offered many excellent solutions to blending our old house with a new addition. We intend to have Frank come back and help us in the future, perhaps many times. The whole experience was enjoyable and he helped make the impossible possible!

Was very happy with kitchen installation last fall and hired Burden again for our bathroom renovation and some additional work. Not only do they show up on the day you expect them, they are punctual and come at the exact time they say they will. Tom is great at cabinetry and turned two individual cabinets into an island at our request. He custom made the top and put a small breakfast bar on the side. During the process, he had me sit at the countertop to be sure the height and overhang of the seating was comfortable before he made it permanent. While upgrading the bathroom with new everything (except tub), he was always paying attention to the details. If he could improve the way something functioned, he did. That included fixing the toilet flange in the floor so the toilet didn't rock or leak any longer. Even a small thing like the placement of the locking screws in the towel bar was considered. When he saw that mildew had attacked the sheetrock over the showerhead, he insisted on cutting out that piece and replacing it with blueboard. He also doesn't go crazy and suggest that you replace an entire wall. He is considerate and recommends doing what needs to be done without stretching the project budget. In the past, I've had trouble even getting electricians to show up. Tom's crew is always happy to help. Our house is quite dark and they installed overhead lighting for us in a number of trouble spots. It meant putting wiring in a lot of places where it didn't exist, including the basement ceiling and the bedroom closet. They've been in our attic more times in the past few months than any of us have in all the time we've owned the house! If you have any "extras" to add on to the project, Tom will accommodate you whenever possible. And the length of time required to complete projects has been shorter than expected. My friends' projects always seem to take months. Mine have taken days. And the quality is excellent. He really pays attention to the details.
