Excellent. He was able to revive the fan motor and the unit is still working three months later. Ken was punctual, personable and professional. Not only did he help me get my aging refrigerator back in service, but he was also able to give me a good recommendation for my replacement unit. Well worth his fee!

Ken is great -- very friendly and professional, he arrived exactly on time and fixed my dishwasher after County Wide Appliance had failed to fix it several times in the past. His price for doing so was also very reasonable (less than the over-priced county-wide!). Highly recommended.

In the midst of a flea infestation requiring I wash and dry everything in my home, my dryer started making a horrible noise.  The most commonly used local appliance repair company had a three week wait period for repairs, so I found this new repairman locally who was able to be at my house in 24 hours.  He arrived exactly when he said he would, took the dryer apart and found the problem didn't even require a new part.  He fixed it, put it back together and I was using it again in about 30 minutes.  The cost was half what I expected.  I couldn't be happier.

The technician (Jim) called to schedule the appointment, and arrived exactly when he said he would. He explained what he was doing, and worked quickly, but with obvious experience and care.

My 10 year old Frigidaire wall oven wasn't heating so I called County Wide on a Thursday. The repairman came on Monday and told me the control board was broken. He also said that since the board was no longer made, he couldn't repair the oven, but if I were to track down the board I could call him back to repair it. He took $90 for his troubles. I found the board online after 1 Google search for $300. As a last ditch effort before ordering the part, I took out the bad board, resoldered a bad connection, Put it back in, and the oven works! As a working professional with two kids in preschool, I say shame on County Wide for not earning their ridiculous service charge, shame on you for not finding the part for me, and shame on you for not taking a quick look at the board. I spent two half days to fix this. Once again County Wide fails because they think(know) they are the only game in town. You can do better, but never again for me.

    Lowe's Of Ithaca NY
They hired a subcontractor for the job, who hired cheap labor, and Lowes had a falling-out with the sub-contractor so no one took responsibility!!. The wood floor is incorrectly installed (I have a  concrete subfloor), they are still figuring out how to fix the huge gaps in the floor. After taking full payment in advance, the Lowe's project manager suddenly stopped responding to my messages! The work was delayed by days, refrigerator delivered faulty and then took me three trips to the store manager to get a new one. The current person is actually responsive and is working with me to try and fix the floor, let's see where this goes. If anyone wants to hear details and locals want to see my floor, please feel free to contact me.

    Halco
When I finished my basement, I enclosed the boiler in a new utility room, which prevented the boiler from getting enough oxygen to burn properly. The boiler got so filled with soot, it ended up overheating and a switch failed. I had Halco out to clean the fouled boiler and repair a damaged switch. The boiler was so badly fouled, even up the exhaust pipe, that it couldn't be cleaned well enough to pass the carbon monoxide test in the exhaust flue without breaking the entire boiler apart (not for lack of trying). They red-tagged the unit, and the next morning the service manager came out to see what could be done. I was offered a list of choices: break the old boiler apart, clean it, and retrofit for operation in an enclosed space, or replace the boiler with one of three different units designed for operation in an enclosed space. I opted for a new unit (the old one was 13 years old), which they installed the next day. The techs worked late that day to finish up and get our heat back (I had a four-month old baby in the house who was sick with a cold). Another tech came out a couple days later to double check the installation and make sure everything looked acceptable.
From start to finish, these folks were professional and honest. They seemed to really take pride in their work. I really appreciated the effort they put into getting our heat back up as quickly as possible.

County Wide Appliance Service Of Ithaca
i had a relatively new dishwasher - 13 months old (so it was out of warranty). i knew exactly what the problem was so i called and told them what the problem was and what part needed replacing. i had already done my research. the workman came over and quot;diagnosedand quot; exactly what i said it was and charged me almost $90 for 5 minutes work to tell me what i already knew and didn't fix it. he said he had to order the part. so i take another day off and he shows up with the very part i said i needed, puts it in and and charges me another $135 plus tax. ridiculous, overpriced, rude, condescending and basically awful. and the dishwasher is crap as well. i had been warned by several other people NOT to use them. i have now learned my lesson.

Great! They ordered the part, offered to show up at the house, even though they usually do this in shop. Professional as always and helped me determine if it would be cost effective to fix or replace.

    RIVER'S EDGE ENTERPRISES
it was sear's that had not told me i would owe additional $$ if new piping was required. not dick's fault. other than that, the interaction was pleasant. didn't mind the extra $45. as an installer, he had no way of knowing ahead that we needed new piping, Sear's should have alerted us of the possibility, considering the old d/w had been installed 19 yrs. ago.
