Water Heater Repair And Installation reviews in Hopewell Junction

  • John showed up right on time and got right to work. Very courteous and professional. I was afraid that since it had been a while since the boiler had been cleaned, it might cost a bit extra, but cost was just as estimated. Very happy with John's work.

  • I utilized Go Green Express for around 2 years with their service contract and maintenance. I received a discount on additional maintenance because I had their service contract. I had an issue with my boiler and needed repairs, which I was told were due to parts needing to be replaced. I was should a book with pre-set packaged pricing with recommended solutions, which I thought was odd, because not every part required replacement. I stupidly agreed and the technician replaced parts for roughly 2 hours. A couple of monthly later I needed additional service, but I called another reputable company to fix the issue. I showed him what Go Green Express replaced and mentioned the price I was charged; he told me that I was ripped-off. He showed me each part that was replaced and went through what each part costs. The amount was less than $400 in parts. I asked him based upon labor and parts what he would have charged and he said not more than $700 all total. That is the last time I used Go Green Express. Buyer Beware!

  • In 2012, Jeff installed for me a tankless water heater.  It is the approximate size of a circuit breaker box and electrically heats water that passes through three heating elements.  On Sunday, 08-02-2015, the hot water rapidly dissipated.   It's not a complicated mechanism so I attempted to remove the elements to inspect/replace them.  The elements are removed from each copper tube from the top. Unfortunately, the first element could not be totally removed because a ceiling beam was in the way.
I called Jeff and explained my situation.  He vaguely remembered the water heater but, none the less said he would arrive the next day.  On Monday, he called and said the was running late.  He said he should arrive in one half hour.  He did.  Jeff inspected the situation and moved the water heater (which is mounted on the wall) three inches to the left.  It took Jeff all of 45 seconds.  As he was leaving, I asked him for the bill. He told me that he could not charge me because it was his fault that the water heater was not placed properly.  I disagreed because he had never installed such a water heater before so how could he know how to replace the heating elements.  He still refused to charge me and actually tried to run out the door when I insisted to pay for gas.  It was only when I threatened to call his wife that he reluctantly took the money.
Jeff is an artist at what he does.  I have called upon his services before and admire his work, never a problem.  He is obviously a man of utmost integrity.  He stands behind his work inarguable. He is the one and only to call when you require work, small or large.

  • The company sent 1 person to install. The tech complete the install. The water heater was too heavy for one person. I had no choice to assist. I have now sprained my back.

I emailed the company and left several messages for my warranty, and requested my warranty which was assured over the phone.

Took a very long time to receive warranty.

    Disappointing experience.

  •  Provider arrived right on time.
Cleaned and replace a part in the furnace.
Explained about a new unit that would replace both furnace and hot water heater.
     Needed to replace a thermostat.
Total time was about an hour.

  • My call was returned within the hour and Mike was at my house within 90 minutes.  He was friendly, efficient and informative.  I will definitely contact him again if the need arises.

  • This is perhaps my third or fourth review of Jeff Eckes of Local Dad Repair.  I could probably cut and paste from my previous reviews except for the different jobs he performs whenever he comes.  I called Terri (Jeff's administrative assistant) and made an appointment for the next week.  I told Terri what I needed to be done, but subsequently e-mailed her because the ceiling fan arrived earlier than expected.  Jeff arrived on time, if not early, and went right to work.  He sent me to Home Depot to buy a ceiling plate for the ceiling fan.  I figured with the list I gave him I could take my time.  I bought the ceiling plate, got a soda and made a few calls.  Then Jeff called me to say he was waiting for me.  He was all done.  I thought, no way!  I was only gone for one hour.  When I returned home I covertly checked and, yup, he got everything done.  Jeff never ceases to amaze and impress me.
The list of services he performed is noted above.  Look at it.  Then look at the amount I paid for Jeff's services.  If you can find a better deal with the quality, professionalism and care that Jeff Eckes provides, I tell you to go for it.  You cannot!  I have tried and wasted hundreds of dollars on shoddy & dangerous repairs.  Do yourself a favor and learn from my prior mistakes.  Call Local Dad Repair first and it will be your last call for home contractor services.

  • By the time he came out it was working again. He said that he though he knew what the problem was and thought it would be best to wait and see if it quits working again. I was pleased that he did not try to sell me a new part.

  • Great. No mess. Done quickly
    - Peter C.
  • I don't really have anything to compare it with, because it's not something you do more than once every 10-15 years. Their pricing was competitive. I was happy and satisfied with their work.
