    Above & Beyond Contracting
Bud replaced my three season porch with a garage addition and front door portico. I couldnt be happier with the work performed. He checks all the boxes if youre looking for someone thats professional, responsive, respectful, friendly, and truthful. Bud sets very high standards, is thorough in detail, and not satisfied until youre satisfied!

    NY Worker Bee's Inc.
Had our basement finished by them. While the work appears to be of good quality (only one major issue since completion 5 months ago that was addressed and remedied immediately), communication with Larry often proved to be challenging. While he was always very prompt at responding to us with any questions/concerns, at one point I felt that I needed to have some sort of paper trail and would only communicate with him via text/email as many things that were discussed had been forgotten or confused. The job also took 4 months longer than it was supposed to (contract said estimated completion in April 2018, job wasn't completed until August 2018). However, the basement looks beautiful and I am happy with the final product. One of his main guys Brian, and Larry's partner Kim, were very easy to work with, while we sometimes had push-back from Larry on ideas of ours. Upon final inspection, he pointed out flaws in the work done by some of his "inexperienced" workers (his words) and basically threw his own guys under the bus. I appreciate the honesty but that came off as a bit unprofessional. I believe that doing decks/porches are more their forte, as they have lots of amazing reviews for that kind of work. Maybe finishing a basement is too big of a job for them?

    European Craftsman and Remodeling
Exceptional work and totally professional. Everyone who Anton brought onto this job was a great craftsman, and each was polite, arrived early, worked the whole time diligently, and seemed to really specialize in whatever their job was. The level of work is exceptional, the attention to detail really impressive. I work from home, so I kind of had my eye on the guys throughout the job, and just watching them size and cut each piece of siding not only put me at ease, but also taught me a lot about carpentry. The dry wall on the interior is top-grade. I got fussy over paint colors, and Anton was gracious and accommodating with my changes of heart. Anton also has a deep knowledge of historic, reclaimed woods, as well as quite an inventory to pick from. He was so good with the cedar trim on the exterior that I had him frame a painting to hang in our main house in the same style and it looks great. Best of all, they came up with solutions to problems I didn't even know I had, such as how to properly frame the exterior light that I installed myself before they got here (see photos). Please note that the exterior work is not painted in the photos, as it is too cold to paint, so we'll wait until Spring.

    Mountainside Builders
Overall it was an amazing experience and I highly recommend Mountainside Builders. The quality of workmanship was very high. Chris attended to details while possessing an artistic sense of craftsmanship. Our shower tiles are perfectly installed and look great. They adapted well by replacing needed plumbing materials and extended the original shower size. Chris is very versatile in his skills and knowledge. Services were completed in a timely manner and the work space was left extremely clean. Also, the workers are very friendly and professional.

    Above & Beyond Contracting
This was our first ever renovation project, and the other reviews have confirmed the impeccable quality and service by Above and Beyond Contracting.
After about 2 years in our home, we decided that we were tired with a small shower, along with 2 unusually configured closets and a sitting room that didn't work.  In October 2014 we sought multiple bids from contractors, ranging from "you give me a budget, and we will work within it", to $7000 to $40,000.  Bud's bid was near the higher end, but was with clear indication as to why.  It really wasn't a ballpark, it was what it was.  Others' gave the impression that they were unclear as to how much it would actually cost.  Bud presented us with an itemized estimate, that was spot on.  Our initial quote with him was lower, but after great discussion we decided to move walls to make our space work.  Despite the changing of the floor plan, this did not significantly impact timing or budget.  Other contractors told us it would be astronomically different in pricing if we moved a few walls.  This clearly wasn't the case with Bud.  If anything, it was maybe 10% more considering how much work we were performing.
He was flexible with his scheduling.  We were on a strict timeline due to expecting a baby, and he met the timeline as expected.  As soon as we had all of our materials, he was ready to work the same week.  His workers and subcontractors always showed up on time and he had always notified us of any delays due to weather, or other unforeseen circumstances.  The bottom line was that he was flexible with scheduling, and provided an accurate timeframe for our work - approximately 30 days.
Bud worked with us from day 1.  Even before we hired him, he worked with us to map out different ideas or plans as to how to make our space work.

Bud was on site almost every day, which is something that from other contractors you do not see all the time.  He provided the day's gameplay, and expectations for the week.  He went over any changes that needed to be made (which were minimal).  His crew, ranging from his carpenters to the electrician, plumber, painters, flooring, and tile experts were phenomenal.  First and foremost, they were always kind, courteous, and knowledgable in their trade.  They all valued a very clean environment.  My house was NEVER left a mess.  Drop cloths were put down to protect floors, walls taped up for sanding, and the entire workspace was cleaned and vacuumed every day.  Even on demolition days, the space was clean and tidy.  All debris was removed from my premises.

All of the workers/subcontractors were trustworthy.  I trusted every person that came in my home, as they all had a level of professionalism that was above and beyond my expectations.  I felt comfortable leaving my house, and that everything would be safe and well cared for.

Each of the craftsmen/workers were highly skilled in their trade.  I needed not to be nit-picky with the work or finishing touches, as the completed the work right the first time.  They were very helpful if we wanted minor changes.  For instance, while the electrician was here, I requested that he move some switches and coax cable that wasn't in the initial scope of the project.  They were happy to do so, and it did not significantly change our timing, and wasn't an astronomical change to the budget.  We had also provided fancier toggle switches to install, for which they had no issue.  All of the electrical work, lighting, came out perfectly, and Bud designed a lighting scheme that provides a tremendous amount of light for our space.
The electrician's scope of work was to relocate & install 2 closet lights, 1 sitting room light, 2 shower high hats, 4 bathroom high hats, 2 vanity lights, and all associated moving of switches, updating electrical, and GFI for the space.  They had to relocate some switches as work was coming to completion, but did so without difficulty.

    As for the other subcontractors:
Joe the Plumber was excellent.  He went through, step by step, as to where exactly we would want each nozzle, volume control, temperature control, etc and made recommendations as appropriate.  All of his work was top notch, to code, and looks perfect.  You can appreciate his expertise with all of the "little things" that he did.  For instance, he knew that the plumbing abutted the wall where I was installing custom cabinets.  He encouraged me to take pictures of the roughed in plumbing with the wall open so that I would avoid the plumbing connections and not create any problems.  I not only took his advice, but also took measurements.  This was so valuable as I was installing the closets, as I would have never known to do such a thing.
The plumber's scope of work included moving the shower drain, shower water lines, tub drain, tub water lines, sink faucet and drainage, moving toilet water line, and moving a large vent pipe.  He also installed all of the bath faucets, fixtures (tub and toilet), and vanity fixtures.

The tile guys did a phenomenal job.  My biggest worry from the whole project was that I wouldn't like the tile job - meaning I wouldn't like my selections, I wouldn't be satisfied with the quality of work, or I wouldn't like the layout (staggered vs brick style vs in line).  From the start of the tiling project all my anxieties were put aside as soon as they started laying the tile.  They were such perfectionists, and always asking questions to ensure that the tile job was exactly what I wanted.  They made recommendations to the style and layout as appropriate, and produced a truly luxurious job.  The tiling ended up perfect, and I can't stress perfect any more.

Their scope of work included installing floor tile in the bathroom, tile with accent around the tub, backsplash over the vanity, and floor to ceiling tile in a large shower with accent wall, and floor.  They also installed the shower bench, and door saddles.
I truly can't say much about the hardwood flooring guys, other than they were in and out in a few hours, and did a perfect job installing hardwood floors in our bedroom.  Didn't interact with them much, as I was out of the house that day.  All I can say is that it was to the standards of the other professionals that completed our project.  Same goes of the painters and sheetrock guys.  I was out on the days they were doing most of their work, so I can only truly comment on the end product, which just like everything else, was perfect.

Last are Vinnie and Miguel.  They were the guys that essentially were in the house almost every day.  The two of them are truly fantastic people, and it is clear by their teamwork that they love what they do.  They did all of the demolition, construction, finish work, and finishing touches.  Just like everything else, all of their construction and attention to detail was phenomenal.  I look forward to seeing them again when it is time for us to finish our basement.

As you will read in other reviews, Bud is excellent at what he does, and is a fantastic person on top of that.  He takes pride in what he does, and only chooses the best of the best to enter your home.  He will provide you guidance, give you examples of "what not to do" to prevent problems in your space.  You can tell that he chose his business name appropriately, as everything that he did in my house was Above and Beyond my expectations.  It is why I will choose and trust him for other renovations, as I know and trust he will get the job done right, on time, and to perfection.  We are so glad we chose Bud for our project, and will have him and his team in our home for other renovations.

    My Way Home Improvement Inc
My Way Home Improvements gets my absolute highest recommendation. They were a pleasure to deal with on all accounts:
    1. Very professional
The contract was clear and complete, and the price was very competitive. Jimmy and Luis always arrived on time (or early), and often worked until dusk.  Besides being very competent they were also very pleasant to deal with.
    2. Added Value
Before siding Jimmy and company sealed the house up tight with R4 foam.  Attic vents were added where they had been done. All openings were nicely boxed for lamps, plugs, vents, etc.
    3. Great attention to detail
The siding install was beautifully done.  Gutters are seamless and covered - much better that what was there before.  Tony installed the sliding glass doors and the accompanying trim, an it all looks amazing.
    4. Excellent quality materials
The 25 foot siding lengths made for very few seams.
    5. Office support was very responsive
They were willing to adjust per a change in our schedule,  Lisa always responded to calls the same day, and communicated well any adjustments to the work schedule.

    Local Dad Repairs

One of the best things about dealing with Local Dad Repairs is that they do all trades with their own staff.  My project consisted of carpentry (replacing sliding glass door, replacing wood trim around front door, laying new hardwood floor); plumbing (replacing several shutoff valves and dishwasher hose) and painting (interior hallway and exterior window).  All jobs were completed according to Jeff's quote with high quality and care.

Jeff's staff is courteous and very careful.  Each night, they did a thorough cleanup before leaving.  When they said they would be here they were always on time.  Terri, in the office, kept in contact and answered emails promptly.  Overall, I highly recommend Jeff Eccles and Local Dad Repairs.

    Above & Beyond Contracting
We hired Bud, the owner of Above and Beyond Contracting, after speaking with quite a few contractors.  We felt Bud was the most knowledgable from many suggestions he gave us during the initial consult.  We also felt that he would be the easiest to work with and we were right.
From the beginning Bud helped us walk through the design of the project and gave suggestions based on his past experience.  He applied for all the permits and when the permit got held up due to an inspector's mistake, he promptly corrected the situation.
Throughout the project, Bud worked with 2 employees only.  There was no rotating help.  We felt comfortable with his employees, especially being a mom at home with 2 young children.
Communication was excellent.  All details were discussed with us and nothing was ever completed until it was cleared with us first.
Above and Beyond's workmanship is excellent, from the framing to the finishing carpentry.  The project consisted of a bedroom, bathroom, main room and gym space, which was separated from the main room by a half wall with built in shelving, and a kitchenette.  Everything was framed out in about 3 days!  They worked efficiently.  And they cleaned up the basement every day.
They installed tile flooring in some parts of the basement and in the shower, and it looks great.  One tile got stepped on and pushed out of place and it was removed and replaced without having to ask for this.  Attention to detail was great.
When we encountered a minor problem with the bathroom plumbing, Bud worked with his plumber to come up with a solution that was acceptable to us, but making sure it wouldn't cost us alot.
One suggestion Bud gave us was to install a drop ceiling so that we would always have access to plumbing and such.  This was not even on our radar.  We always thought those looked like an office.  But we ultimately took his suggestion and it looks fantastic.  It cost a bit more, but if we ever have a leak in the future, I know we'll be glad we took his suggestion.
The project is nearly complete and it looks fantastic.  We are very happy with the project and we would hire Above and Beyond again for any future projects.

    My Way Home Improvement Inc
My Way was the best choice for this large job. We needed to remove a solarium that had significant damage to it, and was causing further damage to our home. Tony took great care to remove each pane one by one so as not to cause a dangerous mess and get glass everywhere. They deconstructed the sinking concrete base of the room, and raised the floor so that it was level with the rest of our house, constructed a new outer wall, and took care of all the lighting and heating issues that went along with a new construction. We also put in a shower, and Tony's guys took care of all the plumbing, the tiling, everything! When we needed to find our discontinued vinyl siding to finish our exterior wall, Tony went out of his way to track it down and order it. The My Way workers were always professional. They arrived promptly each morning, and took great care with their work. They put in a full days work even through the horrible summer hear. Everything they did was quality - no sloppy work here! We are somewhat indecisive people, and Tony always had great patience with us, and was able to give us a lot of advice about our options and what would best meet the needs of our family. He is very knowledgeable, and we will definitely use My Way on our future projects.

    MLB Incorporated
Mike took care of permits and kept us informed as to progress. The work went quickly and expertly. We listened to Mike's suggestions and recommendations and the end result was a finished basement which exceeded our expectations. We would not hesitate to hire MLB Inc should a future need arise.
