    The dishwasher is still malfunctioning after two service visits. I understand that intermittent problems can be difficult to diagnose, and I could live with that. But the second technician stayed only a few minutes - just time enough to strip and mangle several plastic screw mounts and on the control panel. So a couple of days later when my wife opened the dishwasher, the control panel came halfway off and a piece of the one of the screw mounts even fell out! The technician should not have been using a torqued-up screwgun with screws that went into the plastic control panel.

    I had diagnosed the problem to a specific part. The service person (Mr. Ralph Packard) was very helpful in confirming my diagnosis, but I hadn't dared to disassemble the probable affected part. The service person did the dis-assembly, repair (removing a foreign object), reassembled and everything is fine. I was very happy with the patience and competence of Mr. Packard, the service person.

    I had a broken refrigerator water line and the shut off valve failed, so I had to shut off water to most off my house. I went to Angie's list for plumbers and I placed a call to two plumbers including Michael's. Michael's got back to me within a half an hour and were at my house about an hour or so after the call back. The work looks good and the price of the fix seemed reasonable, although my experience with plumbing prices is minimal. I was extremely impressed with the quick call back and very grateful for the immediate response.

    Informed me the dryer repair would cost as much as a new dryer. Told us the Samsung  model that we had purchased was built with cheap pot metal, cannot withstand normal wear and tear.
    Informed Samsung and they insisted on their own repairman. He confirmed the same circumstances. $800.00 model tossed after 3 years.

    Initially, I visited the showroom and spoke with Joanne.  They have a small showroom and Joanne showed me their inventory and discussed with me the pros and cons of electric vs. inductive type cooktops, as well as brands.  Then she told me to research the various cooktops on line (she also had catalogs) and she would order the appliance for me.   On my second visit to the showroom I met Frances.  Both Joanne and Frances were very friendly and helpful.  I could reach them by phone as well as email to ask questions, and they were prompt and responsive.  Besko will do installation and also remove the old appliance.  In addition, if service or repair is ever needed, you just call them and they will take care of it.  I wish I had known about Besko for my last major appliance purchase!  I definitely will use them again.

    A DEPENDABLE APPLIANCE REPAIR
    We had two issues- an over-the-stove microwave that was installed in
    1996 that started to turn on when the door opened, and a broken handle
    on a dishwasher.  When I told Jeff the problem over the phone, he said
    it is either a microswitch that will cost about $10 for parts or
    something major that would mean a new microwave.  He arrived on time and
    within 15 minutes had determined the problem was the switch (he gave us
    the old one to show us exactly what happened) and had installed the new
    one, checked out the microwave, and put it all back together.  When we
    asked if we were living on borrowed time, he said these units were built
    to last and he would not recommend replacing it until a major component
    fails.
    With the dishwasher, he explained that the handle on this
    model was troublesome, and that they had moved away from it.  He also
    said we didn't need it- the unit would work just fine and the door could
    be opened without it.  He said we could get along without it, or we
    could order one.  I told him we wanted one because it looked better, he
    ordered it, and within the week it arrived, he called to schedule an
    appointment to install it, and he arrived on time again and was in and
    out within 10 minutes.
