The day after contract signing the bathroom was demoed without any further contract. no work was done for another 7-10days. He starts to prime all 3 bedrooms on 5/16/15 without fixing damaged wall (nail holes and such from previous owner as well as damaged that was cause by him demoing the bathroom). The condo smelled of Tobacco smoke and Weed.
My SO and I went back to condo to check up on the work on the 17th...He never finished the priming job, the place was a mess. We texted him to see what was going on he has not reached out after we have attempted to reach him by phone, text and email.
We have lawyered up. He took a 50% deposit that we need to get back for the $16,000 job
Here is the first email we sent to him with more details
My SO and I have discussed the progress of the job and some issues we feel need to be addressed ASAP
As per the contract work started on 5/2/15 - was told 2 1/2 to 3 weeks for work to be complete. Please note that the 19th will mark 3 weeks and as of 5/17 less than half of all tasks have been completed.
For the record we have only seen the carpets ripped up, the bathroom demoed (not including tile ) and the start of priming. No plumbing, electrical work, new flooring installation or wallpaper removed from guest bathroom has been observed in nearly 3 weeks.
We where told by you as a rule you only take one job at a time. My SO has told me that you had been working on another job at the start of the job. Is this the reason why no work was done on the week of the 10th?
We have been told via text text message on at least 2 occasions that the  electrician  will be there (the 13th and 16th). No evidence of any work being done in the attic, closet outlet, replaced outlets in rooms, lighting fixture installation that we where rushed in to purchasing.
We where also told the plumber would be there via text message on the 13th and we have not received any update as to if he came/what was done/what still needs to be done.
We have noticed shortcuts taken not discussed prior to contact signing. If i remember correctly, we where told that the fans would be taken down for the ceiling to be painted, then told that the blades would be removed instead, then told that painters tape would be wrapped around the base instead of the removal of any hardware. We have noticed paint on one of the globes still attached to the ceiling fan on 5/16.
While it may be common to place tile over tile in the bathroom for cost reasons, it was not discussed before/at contract signing. We where told (after questioned on 5/16) that you would check under the mudfloor from underneath to ensure the integrity however there is no proof/explication as to how this was done.
As of right now all paint and bathroom hardware has been purchased by My SO and myself.
We have not been provided with proof of order/purchase of tile or flooring. Please provide actual receipts for tile, flooring and vanity, or proof of order via email or in person. We need to ensure that work is being done/items have been orders to mitigate further delays.
The demo in the bathroom has left the wall in the master bedroom damaged. There are two noticeable hammer marks on the exposed side of the sheet room. The walls are being primed without necessary repair. Regardless of TV/TV mount placement this will need to be fixed.
Marks throughout upstairs from previous owner/bathroom demo were not spackled before wall was primed.
We where told on May 11th that the walls in the bathroom "should be closed up by the end of the week" via text message. There is been no updated as per our last text and voice mail left for you on 5/17.
As for the working environment we have cause for concern regarding OSHA compliance as the jerry-rigged scaffold (later and thin wood plank) flexed under pressure. Please ensure your workers safety. Please be advises all workers to not smoke in the condo. The first thing we noticed on 6/16 was the smell of marijuana and tobacco smoke. We ask that no workers smoke cigarettes inside the condo and drugs be kept out of the work place for safety reasons.
The delays, lack of communication and other causes for concerns have forced us to address this is writing please reply in kind before any further work is done. I will be sending you a text making you aware of this email.
Please set aside time later tonight between 7pm-10pm to discuss further.

Carmine first came out to the house in July and suggested that we install new basement windows and window wells.  We did this and things were fine till December , when we had water in the basement.  Carmine came out again and inspected everything and suggested a partial french drain after conferring with Ed, the owner.  Work was schedule for 1/2/2014.  Ed called on 12/21/2013 to confirm that they would be there Thursday morning and not to worry about the weather, they would be able to do the job.  We were scheduled to have a snow storm that day.  He called at 7 am Thursday morning to say that he was sending extra crew members to do the job, the snow wasn't supposed to come till later that day and they would be finished by 12:30 - 1 pm.  A group of 6 men came, dugout for the drain, installed sand, pipe, gravel, sump pump and on the outside a pop up drain.  They also installed drain pipes from each window well to the drain. The area was cemented over.  The crew left at 11:30 am, well before the time Ed said it would take.  The men were professional, courteous and neat. You would never know that such a job was done that day, not a speck of cement dust was around.  Ed came by to check on things and explain everything to me and called later that day to see if I was satisfied with the work that was done.  So far there has been no more water in the basement and that is after several rain and snow storms.  This seems to be the answer to our problem.  I would definitely recommend them, the were terrific.
