    Fix In A Zip
    I'll start by saying that they did the work and the iPod works, however the rest of the experience was awful.

    I went to Fix In A Zip on 9/3 to drop off my daughter's iPod that had a broken screen. When I dropped it off I asked about how long it would take to repair and they said they couldn't tell me but maybe about a week. They stated that phones were their priority so obviously an iPod would slide down the list. 

    On 9/9 I called to find out if it was ready and was told that it still wasn't ready. I called again on Friday, 9/13 and got voice mail. I left a message with my name & phone number and wasn't called back. I called again on Monday 9/16 and got voice mail, left a message but never got a call back. I finally got someone on the phone later that day and when I asked if the iPod was ready I was told that it was. When I went there I was told it wasn't ready and there was no way anyone would have told me it wasn't. I told them that there's no way I would drive all the way over to their shop if they hadn't said it was ready. I was then told it should be ready the next day.

    On 9/17, two weeks after dropping it off, I got a call that it was ready. When I requested a discount due to the length of time and the misinformation about it being ready the day before the owner grudgingly gave me $5 off claiming that the repair cost $89 per their website and he "only" charged me $84. (Upon returning home I checked the website again and discovered that the advertised price is actually $84!) When I told him that I felt I deserved a larger discount due to the false information on the phone he stated that there's no way I was told that and basically said I was lying.

    Upon leaving I told him I would be leaving a review on Angie's List and on another site and his answer was simply "that's just one review".

    Needless to say I will never use this company again!

    We contacted the manufacturer (APEX) directly. They submitted a service ticket and told us that action would be taken in 2-3 weeks. Considering that this is our only TV, I found that to be a bit long, but we complied.

    After 3 weeks with no updates, we contacted them again. They had not yet determined how our case was to be addressed, but were told that it would be expeditied to a supervisor.

    After another week with no update, we called again, and were told that we needed to ship the TV (They sent a call tag) to them and it would be repaired or replaced. We should expect this process to take an addtional 2 weeks.

    We spent $60 on a custom built box to ship the TV, but were told that it was still damaged in shipment, and could not be repaired.
    Their decsion was to send a "new" unit.

    We picked up the unit last evening from Fed Ex, and not only was it not new, it has a gouge in the screen.

    DO NOT purchase this brand. Not only is the quality poor, despite the regular price tag of around $800, but the warranty service is appalling. It's not been 2 1/2 months and we still have no television. It's completely unacceptable.
