Driveway Pavers reviews in Henrietta

Doug called after my initial inquiry the same day and came out for the estimate in a day or two. Once I signed the contract the work was done within a week. All the workers were very professional, friendly and left our lawn etc as it was before they started. The work was done on a very humid day but they finished in less time then they had originally estimated. I will definitely recommend them to others.

    Rochester Driveways
The did an excellent job. What the owner proposed to do was a multi-step process , that was more thoughtful and economical. It resulted in a driveway that looks good and will last for years.  Also, the owner said he would be here & supervise all the work and he did.
The only reason I gave him a B on responsiveness is they were not the easiest company to get a hold of but once we made contact he came when he said he would & followed through.  We are very please with the results & recommend them without any reservation.

Got a card in the mail to seal our driveway for $84 with $5 off if we called within a couple weeks. Sounded great! So we called. "Oh, your driveway hasn't been sealed before? That will be a little bit more." OK, fine. How much?
"Well we just measured your driveway with the satellite image, and it will be $269."
We were afraid it was bait and switch. Their service might be great, I have no idea. But I won't deal with a company that pulls that kind of stunt.

    R&W Paving

We contacted several paving companies for quotes. Some didn't even talk with us, but merely looked at it and send it  by mail. Our first contact with R & W was very pleasant. Karen scheduled our appointment and Gary came out on time as promised. He went over everything in detail and answered all of our questions. My husband has some background in this area and felt confident they would serve us well. Our driveway was completed today and R & W did a FABULOUS job. They completely removed the  old and laid a layer of crushed stones..... after 5-6 weeks they came today and added another layer, leveled it and poured the blacktop. Gary actually did a lot of the work. He and his staff were extremely professional and respectful of our property. They left us instructions on dos and don'ts for the upcoming year along with regular maintenance suggestions.

We would highly recommend R & W to anyone looking to replace or repave their driveway. You won't be disappointed!!!!!!

    G & G Sealcoating & Paving Inc
Gand G did not complete my instructions. I spoke with the receptionist about tarring and filling the cracks. The tarring was performed satisfactorily; however, the small cracks were not worked on. The reason I tried Gand G initially was their advertising stated they performed this service.

Called and scheduled sealing.  Stated they would be there in 3 days.  Told me they would charge $20.  if they showed up and check was not there.  Never showed, never called.  I left 2 messages and never called back.  I will send them a bill for $20.00 for not showing up,  ha

    Magic Seal LLC
Very good phone service for the initial call.  They used aerial/satellite photography to estimate the job cost and set a date.
The three young men who came out were on time, polite and did a very nice job coating the driveway.  Payment was very easy.
Unfortunately, it rained h****** the driveway that next morning (as predicted by the weather forecast) before the sun had a chance to cure the whole driveway.  (The part near the house was in the shadow of the house when they applied the coating, so it didn't cure before the rain the next morning.)  As a double whammy, the rain splashed the coating up on the white garage door and the house trim - and that's where the sun cured it later that next day...
The their credit, the company did send out a power washing firm - but it did no good - and I had to paint the door and trim.  They also sent out a crew to recoat the part of the driveway near the house- which went well - although you can see where there is one coat vs. two.
In retrospect, now that I understand that the coating is like a sun-cured paint, I'll balk very hard at having the driveway recoated if there is any chance of showers before the sun can cure the entire driveway.   The decision to spread the coating in the face of potential rain before adequate opportunity for cure needs to be made in conjunction with an informed customer.   In this case, the significant consequences of these foreseeable problems fell to the homeowner.
These problems likely impact anyone in this business.   What can make a big difference is how a company deals with a less than ideal situation.
To their credit, Magic Seal remained very responsive and easy to work with thoughout this process. They send out the supplemental services (without my asking!) and a re-coating crew.   I'm sure they didn't make any money on my job.  Their professionalism does count for me and I'll use them again next year - but they won't be coating near my house if there's showers  in the 24 hour forecast.

    Winton Paving
We contacted at least six companies to get estimates for repairing our driveway. Several never called back, some started the process and then stopped returning calls or some other thing that got us to drop them. The two left in the running were Pittsford Paving and Winton Paving.
Pittsford was professional and responsive. in the end, they cost more and gave us less detail on what would be necessary to do the job.
Winton Paving was very professional. they came when they said they would (seriously - like within 10 minutes of when they promised each time). They explained in detail what would be involved. We had a driveway that was 20 years old, never topcoated (just an exposed binder coat) that was starting to break up and developing potholes as well as being bumpy. They explained that they woudl take off the asphalt and leave teh gravel bed if it was deep enough and sound. Otherwise, they would have to dig and replace it. They gave us a number assuming the gravel was fine and would give us an updated number if it wasn't.
In the end, most of it was fine. They had to replace a little gravel that was on a section that was added after the main driveway had been paved, and supplement some spots with additional gravel. We used to have a little grade right by the road because it is higher than the driveway - a problem in winter sometimes because it would freeze over. They added enough gravel to make the driveway a smooth grade from the road up the drive (our driveway is about 150 feet long).
Because they added the turnaround, they said they wanted to wait a month for it to steel before paving, otherwise it woudl end up bumpy after a few years. It was frustrating having to wait, but we respected the care they showed in wanting to give us a good result that would last for years.
They were put off by weather many times, so we ended up waiting a long time for it - we contracted with them in April and they installed it in August. The day they wanted to pave, their supplier had a breakdown and they had to put it off a week. We asked if there was anyplace else they could get asphalt. He said "we could, but we don't like the other places' quality, and you're not going to get as good a driveway." We respected that. Hiring them was totally worth it. The driveway is beautiful. We love it. It is smooth, gradually tapers from the road to the garage. There are no visible seams even though there are a few pretty wide parts. They did a fabulous job. We would recommend Winton Paving, and would hire them again in a minute.

    R&W Paving
After seeing the neighbors replace their driveways, I decided it was about time to do mine as well.  Especially since our properties are on a slight upslope from the street, and with the storm gutter, there is enough of a bump at the bottom that some vehicles bottom out trying to get in.
As I said, I had watched the neighbors driveways being replaced and thought I knew what to after getting three estimates, one from the company that did a neighbor's driveway, and finding them all within just a couple of hundred dollars of each other, I decided to go with the middle estimate, which also happened to be the largest company, R&W Paving (they also do parking lots and malls in this part of New York State as well as private drives).
First, I was surprised that they would not do it in one day as the others had done.  After removing the old driveway, and resizing, laying gravel, leveling (and shaping it the way I wanted)  and rolling it, they wanted to let it sit for at least three weeks, and hope we get a couple of good rains in that period to help compact it further. They wanted me to drive on it as much as possible during that time. They explained that not doing this was the reason that many driveways have sink holes and imperfections that show up a few years after the work was done. We did get a substantial rain!
Yesterday, they came back to finish the job...and brought enough men and machines to do a parking lot!  Their equipment was parked almost the full length of our street, from my house (third house on the street) to the cul-de-sac, 5 houses up!  They had three different sized rollers, the paving machine itslef, two tractors and a number of trucks to haul the equipment, the asphalt and the 7 men who were to do the work.
I was thoroughly impressed with the quality of the work, and the professionalism of the workers.  They had obviously done this before and knew what they were doing, working well as a team.  For example, staging equipment before they started so it would be in the right place when it was needed. They had all worked for the company for many years (except for one "trainee") and looked like they enjoyed what they were doing.  After leveling the gravel, and measuring the sides so they would have straight lines, they rolled the gravel, they used the paving machine to lay a "skim coat" of asphalt over it and rolled it again.
Then they detailed the edges and along the garage floor edge by hand, and finally brought in  the paving machine for the top coat.  The operator of the machine drove it very slowly, constantly adjusting the depth and sides of the machine to spread a level, even layer of asphalt right to the marked sides.   They  carefully laid and rolled it level to the street gutters, removing the "bump" that had been there for 40 years!  They also made sure to slope slightly away from the garage so water would run away from the door. They also built little "dams" to compensate for the slope in the garage floor near the edges so that water wouldn't run in.
They used a power blower to clean up after they were done and even cleaned the street under the trucks before they left.
When finished, unlike the other neighbor's driveways, I was told not to drive on it for 10 days, as the asphalt doesn't  harden enough in that time to be able to prevent eventual tire marks and depressions.  They said that three days the neighbors were told is never enough.
They guarantee it for 3 years...
Looks great...better than I expected.  Their work ethic, preparation and finishing was much better than what I witnessed on the neighbor's driveways, and the price was very competitive. Especially for the vastly superior work I witnessed.  Not to mention that they were all very friendly, easy to talk to, and were willing to make adjustments as i saw fit to request them, or explain why my idea might cause future problems.
If you want a quality, long lasting, well guaranteed job, call R&W...

Moe was very polite and pleasure to deal with. They ripped the three year old Dukes driveway out. Regraded driveway. Added new stone. Dug out the areas closest to the street and garage. Assures me of good quality workmanship. They have done several driveways in my neighborhood and the look good three years out. Would recommend them to any of my neighbors and friends.
