Landscaping reviews in Hastings On Hudson

I wanted to be fair, however I feel compelled to write a negative review. First of all they didn't show up for the scheduled quote and didn't even bother to call me! Then he came a few days letter when I happened to be home and gave me a quote. I liked the price and scheduled the work immediately for 2 weeks later. Guess what, when I called back to confirm a few days before the scheduled work, he said he couldn't find anyone to do the work. He said he would try to find someone and would give me a call later in the day. Of course, the call never came and the scheduled work never came. He didn't bother to give me a call to follow up. I feel like this company is very unreliable and I wouldn't trust them to do any work. The communication is horrible. Avoid this company as much as possible.

The owner, Bob, came by on the same day I called him and they started tree removals that afternoon. They finished everything the next morning. The work quality was top-notch. They did exactly what they said they would do, and they did a superb job cleaning up afterwards. The trees are gone, just as I wanted. Bob is a very friendly, knowledgeable, experienced, patient, capable, and honest person to do business with. (As a certified arborist, it was pretty fascinating just listening to him effortlessly rattle off the identity of every tree on my property.) Bob and his employees were exceptionally considerate, managing to complete their work with minimal disruption. If the need arises, I would unhesitatingly use their services again.

Highly recommend Potanovic & Sons - Bob was punctual, friendly, the trees look great, zero evidence of ever having been here. He took pride in his work, wanted to make sure I was satisfied and generally happy with what he did. My new tree guy.

They come out every week. They come on a regular basis, they mow the lawn and blow. They come through very quickly and try to get as many customers in as possible and you can't expect a great deal from them unless you hire them to do extra work.  They are very pleasant. The work is ok, but it does the job and keeps the hedges clipped. They could stay a little longer and spend more time. They haven't really slacked off, I just think this is how they all go here. The price is competitive.

Great. Jerry educated me on the system, made adjustements to the sprinklers, conducted an overall inspection, fixed a broken sprinkler head, and provided thoughts and options around fixing/replacing the 20 year old system.

Did not deposit the down payment until the work was scheduled. Work was started and completed on schedule. They accommodated inclusion of a heart shaped slate from the old walk in the design of the new walk at our request.

    Doctor Pavers
He will probably be doing work for us in the next several weeks. So far I haven't had much experience with him other than meeting with him for the quote but I was very satisfied so far. I don't know on how the price stands up yet.

Robert came soon after we called for an estimate, and although his estimate came in within the same price range as the other 2 contractors we were considering, the timeline was better for us and we were also impressed that he included photos of the path with notes assuring he understood our concerns.  The office remained in contact in the event our work could be moved up, and as it happened our start date moved up a couple of weeks.  Upon arrival, Robert introduced me to his team, and let me know who I should report to with concerns. The men went to work breaking up the old path and saving the 80 year old pavers to the side.  Where there was damage, they used some replacement stones.  The entire walkway was built up with fresh concrete to a perfect smooth path and the next day, the stones were set back in place. We were able to use the path the very next day and we are so happy with the results.  Two of our neighbors with the same style walkway asked for contact information, as they were excited to know their walkway could be restored.  Dr. Pavers was the only contractor that never questioned our wanting the original walkway repaired as opposed to rebuilding with new material.  There was great communication throughout the entire transaction from estimate to final payment.  The 2 primary workers; Santos and Alex were so tireless in their work that it was finished a half day sooner than expected.  Our front yard was left as clean as when the work started.  We couldn't be happier or more confident in recommending Robert and his team. We have already asked for another estimate  on some other masonry work we need.

    Glinski Tree and Landscaping
He came to my house first. I told him I wanted stumps removed, a Rose of Sharon removed and a dead arborvitae removed. He advertises stumps removed too. I also wanted them to trim some trees so I had a better view of the Hudson River from my deck. He told me it would be 8 hours. He said they started the time from the time they left the shop and it runs until they arrive back at the shop. He left and I called Angie's List and said that was not what I read in the ad and that I really did not like that. Several other companies were a lot less for four hours than $400. I am not sure how long it would take him to get to my house. Apparently Angie's List called him and he agreed not to do that. I was using the $1400 big deal purchase because I wanted to get three things done. When he came he told me I was in charge of the guys here and he left. The guys were working. At one point they disappeared and I guess they were having lunch. They were gone for about 45 minutes in the truck, I think. I did not like that because I was paying for that. He came back at the end and I told him I wanted the Rose of Sharon stump removed and he said I told him I wanted other things done and they were taking priority over this. He was kind of talking a little down to me and then they did take the stump out. they did leave one stump. We had, like, an hour to go and he started wanting them to pack up. I said they still owed me some time and he told me what he had previously told me. I felt like it wasn't that professional because he said he had spoken to Angie's List about this and that his time started and stopped as he already described. The workers were very good, by the way. He ended up spending another half hour there but he seemed rushed and I was not comfortable with that.

    Michael Bellantoni Inc
Daniel from Bellantoni provided an onsite estimate and also came on the day when the work was done. We were happy with his very knowledgeable approach on many aspects of landscaping. He was honest about areas outside of his expertise  and service of the company (he recommended an arborist to sort out some "tree needs"). He was very professional and patient with out many questions during the estimate and work. Daniel also followed up after the work was complete to ensure that the job went well.
The crew of three gentlemen who did the drainage work were all punctual, very pleasant, professional, and super efficient. They cleaned up, carted away debris, graded the areas with additional soil, and laid down grass seed over dug up areas.
We will be using them again in the future. Great service and expertise at reasonable prices (within range of 3 other estimates).
