  • He was a terrific worker as was his crew. He is always punctual, polite, extremely clean and does the work completely and well. There was no job too big or too small. I highly recommend him and will certainly call him again if I have other work that needs to be done. I also found his price very reasonable.

  • Davide is a really nice guy who cares about doing good work. It was a pleasure having him in our home replacing the shower floor and pan. He was able to accommodate the particular way I wanted it done and a mix up with the tile colors. My advice is to book him early as he seems to be busy. Also, buy your tiles as soon as possible and look them over to make sure it's what you want. There can be a lead time and mix ups with tiles. Would definitely use him again.

  • Excellent job , appraisal of the job was detailed, clear, well explained. Tim was easy and professional to work with. He followed up after the work to make sure we were satisfied. Sam, who did the work , was pleasant, careful, skilled, left the job area clean and neat. They did all that was contracted, did an excellent job with both restorations.

  • Great job! Mike showed up first thing every morning and the entire project was finished quickly and came out beautifully. The work was absolute quality and precision. It's obvious that he takes great pride in his work and cares about his customers' satisfaction. Best of all, he is the neatest contractor in the world! He removed all tools, materials, and even dust at the end of each day!! I would highly recommend him and would use him again in a second!

  • I live in a co-op so some time constraints as work needed to be done from 9-5 weekdays.

It was original kitchen and bath from 1962. Biggest challenge was walls, floor etc not plumb. Jeff had good suggestions for making kitchen more workable and suggested a hardwood floor (from international flooring-separate cost) which looks nice though had issues w this company.  Cabinets look great and way more storage than I had.  Jeff used someone to do the bathroom, Kolec Lissi, who I definitely do not recommend. Importantly, he has another job and could not come until 2:30 or 3pm so could not work for very long. Jeff kept telling me on other jobs he works till 10 or 11pm (which I don't know why anyone would want). Kolec is nice and was very thorough making sure the beams in the bathroom were reinforced and plumb so that the wall would be straight. tiling was not very professional.  He made a few significant errors which should not have been made by an experienced tiler.  He was unsure about the shower lining installation and did not get guidance from Jeff.  I had to measure the width of the bathtub in our hall bath and draw lines for where the shower stall had to end and curb begin (or I would only have had a shower and toilet!) The original tiling over the curb was uneven and looked bad.. I had to ask him to redo it. Then he started tiling in the shower and worked out so there was about an inch at the bottom uncovered (I picked 12 inch tiles-) so I came up with a solution using a partial strip of the decorative insert. Not great but looks ok.  He didn't tile through the doorway far enough so the saddle did not extend enough to cover the carpeting we have in the bedroom. There was a patch of raw floor which Jeff patched with a 2 inch strip of wood saddle. Again, looks OK but people notice it as a mistake. Then for whatever reason, he did not line up the tiles on the wall of the sink and mirror so the pencil bullnose did not line up!  He left a 2 ft gap and told me the mirror would cover it?  Each of these fixes took an extra week because Jeff had other projects.  Fairly early on I expressed my concern and Jeff said he and his guys know how to tile but didn't have the time!

Needless to say this spilled over to the kitchen as I had lost all confidence in Kolec and did not want him to tile the back splash. I had picked glass subway tiles which can be tricky.  Jeff did not step in and make sure it was done.  I have decided to hire someone else to do the back splash.  The walls need to be plastered and built up to be straight. The kitchen was gutted for about 2 wks after the wood flooring was installed but no one available to put up drywall (which would make putting up back splash a lot easier)  Jeff's workmen did paint the dining room and hall to match the kitchen (not in the contract) to make up for the project taking so long but the kitchen ceiling never got painted. They were also very helpful the day the toilet, sink and medicine cabinet came, carried up one flight to my apt. I tried to arrange everything through Best Plumbing so would arrive on the same day.

The electrician Tom, from All in one electric was great but all electric was extra, Counters were done great (silestone) partly extra fee, also a separate vendor but Jeff was there with installation. Renovations are stressful and you do need to stay involved and check things.  Though my kitchen not done as yet, cabinets and layout are beautiful and much more functional. The bathroom does look very nice overall and is in the master bedroom so generally not used by company.  Am hoping to find a company that specializes in bathrooms for our full bath in the hall.

  • Reliable Contracting did a good job with the shower surround, sheetrock, counter top and floor.  They warped the bottom of the shower door frame because they did not cut enough off to have it fit properly.  However, we did not realize that at first when the shower leaked.  Reliable came quickly to recaulk the frame.  They were not going to clean the old caulk off before recaulking until I insisted they do so.  They also did not completely dry the frame so that the caulk never hardened and we ended up having to remove the doors again, caulk the base of the frame and wait for it to dry before we could remount the doors.  As for the installation of the toilet - I bought a toilet with a full back that covers the waste pipe.  When Reliable's plumber mounted the toilet, instead of moving the water valve away from the back of the toilet, he mounted it right up against the valve so that it could not be turned thus preventing being able to turn off the water if necessary.  The plumber also reused the valve that had been in the bathroom - probably a twenty year old valve - instead of replacing it.   Reliable's response to my pointing this out and asking why someone had not said something before the toilet was mounted was that if the plumber had done what should have been done they would have been here alot longer and it would have cost more and also that needing to turn off the water to the toilet is not a common thing to have to do, if needed, the water can be turned off in the basement.  Furthermore, instead of looking at the toilet before being ready to mount it, Reliable said the situation was my fault because I did not tell them I had purchased a non - standard toilet.  For some of the repairs to the floor under the shower, where there was a little bit of rot from the old leak, Reliable was going to use used plywood rather than new.  We repaired the floor with new plywood before the job continued.  I got the feeling from Reliable that they were happy to do the job but would do it the quickest and easiest way they could rather than always doing things the maybe lengthier but better way.  The sheetrock and taping job in the bathroom were fantastic, as was the floor tiling,  and they were very neat and clean.  Overall, however, I was not satisfied with their performance as we had to do many things ourselves to have the job the way we wanted it.  I realize that the toilet issue was really with the plumber, but as the GC, Reliable was responsible for their performance as well.

  • So let me start by saying this review is long overdue, but since we purchased our new house in February it's been non-stop for my wife and I and we're finally catching a breather!
As soon as my wife and I signed a contract to purchase our new home we new we wanted to remodel the kitchen and were looking at different kitchen and bath designers to come by and give us a quote.  Well, we moved into our house the day before the 14" snowstorm that hit the area and figured that there was no way Steve Ferrari would show up on that Friday as we had scheduled.  We were totally shocked when we got the call that he was on his way and he was there at our doorstep on time as 10" of snow was already on the ground and it was continuing to come down hard (first great impression!).  Steve looked at what we were thinking of doing and offered a great idea to extend the kitchen even further which we hadn't considered, but quickly realized his idea was really great.  Steve never pressured us.  We asked him about costs, timing, etc. as it was a bit of a mad-house since we just moved in the day before.  Steve looked us straight in the eye and said "people like me because we use quality products, it costs what I say it will cost, and it takes as long as I say it takes".  Needless to say, we were sold.  He could have been full of it, but we just new he was sincere and let me tell you that's exactly how it transpired.
We were assigned to one of his designers/project managers, Margit, who is a true pleasure to work with.  We were very happy with everything we picked out and I made sure to let her know that she should stop us if we selected anything that when finished just wouldn't look right together.  In the end she offered good advice and managed the project from start to finish.  She guided us through the various countertop choices, backsplash choices, sink size/depth and explained the pros and cons of each.  Margit remained in routine contact with us regarding the progress of the job, selection of the sink, faucet, deliveries, etc.  When all was said and done the job truly cost what they said it would and they (including their subcontractors) were finished on time when they promised.  My wife and I are truly thrilled with our new kitchen which looks gorgeous (I think they were happy too...Margit snapped a few photos which will hopefully grace their portfolio/website for other potential clients).
We cannot recommend Ferrari's fact we already did to a neighbor who inquired and we made sure to remind her to ask for Margit if they go forward with the job.  This is an honest company who does quality work.

  • R J Contracting did a good job and always came on time. They were very meticulous and very careful with everything. They made sure that everything was very clean. That was one of the main reasons I used them. They left everything spotless.
