    Honest and customer-friendly:
    Bill Nibur was recommended by my neighbors - he lives in our town and has quite a following here, it appears. At any rate, my diesel's glow plug warning light started blinking while my teenage son was driving thecar. I decided that this was a problem serious enough to have the car towed to Bill's shop. Bill told me someone would look at the car immediately upon its arrival and he would get back to me with a diagnosis. Within a few hours Bill did get back to me to let me know what he thought the problem was and that it was a simple fix and that he spent almost no time on it and therefore would not be charging me for
    it! Zero!  I think you could say that this mechanic is honest.
    And, after telling me that, he told me he would have two of his guys drive my car back to my house, which they did by the end of the day! Apparently, he often does this for my neighbors. Not sure if I should be sharing that info widely, because we don't want to lose that benefit, but it just illustrates Bill's positive, customer-friendly approach.

    the guys at Hastings tire are always friendly and accommodating. I use this gas station exclusively to fill my tank and to get routine service on my car (tires rotated, oil changed, brake pads replaced, inspections done) and I am always satisfied.

    I had a bad experience with them.  I thought they were incompetent.  They were rude.  They broke something fixing the car and then I had to pay for it to be fixed. I didn't bring it in with something broken.  I just didn't like the whole interaction.  I would never ever go back to them again.  I thought it was horrible.  They should have told me ahead of time that they do break things.  The guy said a lot of times they break and I told him he should have at least warned me ahead of time so that I would have known whether or not I should use them.  I had gone with them instead of my regular mechanic because I thought that they were specialists in what I was getting done.  The price was high because they broke something and I had something off so I had to pay to have that whole piece replaced.  I would never recommend them.

    Last Wednesday I noticed unresponsive steering when I drove my daughter's car at highway speed. Since she was embarking on a 10-hour drive the coming weekend, I called Straub and they cheerfully made an appointment for Thursday morning. I dropped off the car and gave my cell phone number. They called me with the diagnosis and estimate, and I approved the tightening of the bolts in the rack and pinion steering. They called later in the afternoon to tell me it was done -- and that while working on the car they had noticed it was in need of an oil change. They had tried to contact me (indeed I had a couple of missed calls) to get approval to do the oil change, but went ahead and did it since they were aware that my daughter was going on a trip. I thanked them and felt confident that she would have a safe trip -- which she did.

    after waiting 12 weeks for car as ordered (I was told it might take that long) I was subjected to classic last minute (hi ball?lo ball?) reduction in trade-in value, down 1300 dollars from original offer,.there was no change or additional damage to the trade-in car. I walked out and canceled purchase. I found the entire experience sleazy and unprofessional in the extreme.I believe they were expecting trouble. when i arrived check in hand, th car was not prepped and ready.

    Bob's Service Station has done all of my auto work for a long time. I like that I can drop my car off and they will be done with it quickly and even bring it back to my home for me. I think that is great. I have had a very good experience with them. They are very responsive. They always call me to keep me up to date with how the work is going.
