His choice of sub-contractors complimented his work ethic. CPiccirillo EnterprisesWe hired Tony based on the positive reviews left on this site. I regret to tell you that the reviews are far from reality! Tony has limited knowledge in crown molding and did several major mistakes (see photos). We regret that we hired him as his mistakes are very difficult to fix. I do not recommend his service. FRiedman HomesI have never dealt with such an unprofessional and unethical company. I started working with the sales agent with Riedman Homes in May 2020. In June, I put down a deposit on a lot at their Kreag Road development. I was upfront about what I could spend, and she told me that they could build to my budget. For the next four months, we planned, designed, and I dreamt about my new home I frequently asked about cost, and she always said either that we were still in my ballpark, or she would get it for me soon. She never did. Every step seemed to take longer than expected; sometimes three weeks went by with no updates. In mid-October, after we had the plan and upgrades, she finally gave me the cost. It was significantly more than she had said it would be and which I had thought we were still working toward. I see that costs have gone up, but it seems like an established company would know to build a buffer in prices for that possibility, or at least warn me along the way that they couldn’t keep to that price. I spent the next few weeks working with them to try to get the cost down with some changes, but I finally made peace with paying more and said to go ahead. I signed the contract, then their general manager, Jay Benesh signed it on November 30. But later that afternoon he sent me an email saying he wouldn’t be sending it on to the attorney for approval; that they didn’t think this house was a “good fit” for either of us. They said they thought I still had questions about moving forward, which is untrue. My questions were simply for some points on the contract to be clarified. I even stated when I signed it that I didn’t want to hold things up; I wanted to move things along. He didn’t even offer to try to make this work. Jay and I had one more email exchange, and then he stopped responding. A couple of days later, I called David Riedman, president and founder of the company, whom I had spoken with once a few weeks before. This time I left a message asking David to please call me and explain in his words why they wouldn’t build my home. He never returned my call. Over six months of my time, and theirs, wasted. My best guess is that they have someone waiting to build on my lot, someone who can pay a lot more than what I was planning. Or maybe they just had a problem with me. Of course they deny either of these, but they have provided no other explanation.- Kris T.

FAmerican Masonry & ChimneyI hired this company to repair my chimney. John came over, looked at my chimney, and gave me a quote for $2650 for the total cost of the work. When he gave me the quote, it was apparent that the crown and bricks above the roof line had severe cracks and would need to be replaced. He said the job would take two days to complete. After a late start, the job took two and half weeks to complete. During the course of the project, I asked John to please let me know about any additional expenses that would be incurred and the pricing of these. He was very dodgy and wouldn't give me a straight answer. Finally, after the job was complete, he came by and stated that the final price for the work was $7100. He had added line items to his estimate, which we never discussed. Unless you want to be taken advantage of, don't hire this company- Connor W.

ATodd Jones Custom ConstructionTodd and his team were awesome. They were always professional and clean. They treated my family and I, as well as each other, with respect. The addition looks beautiful, and Todd was able to to change the plan when something didn't look just right. The construction was quick, as they guys worked every day (weather permitting, and we had just about every weather obstacle you could have in January). It was stressful to tear a roof off, but the plan went off without a hitch, with virtually no damage to the inside structure. He made sure that everything we discussed was exactly as it needed to be. Todd was very responsive and involved throughout every step of the project. The group of guys that worked on the house we’re extremely knowledgeable and talented which clearly shows in the high quality of the work they performed. ASCHUMANN CONSTRUCTION INCI worked with Schumann Construction in 2017-2018 on a garage rebuild and driveway project. As a single woman homeowner, navigating the world of home improvements can be daunting and intimidating, particularly of a project of this size and cost. Shane was there EVERY step of the way. He listened and responded to my needs and concerns. He advocated for me when other contractors were not following-through on their promises. He got me new garage doors at a discount and went above and beyond to make sure he installed garage door openers, even though the project didn't call for either of those things, and still kept it under budget! He even responded to text messages from me on Sundays! I cannot speak highly enough about the professionalism, compassion and follow-through of Schumann Construction. I am a small growing business. I estimate each job personally. I hire labor depending on the size of the project plus I have very dependable subs. I take a down payment to start and a payment halfway through and then a final payment when project is complete.

ASeamus was recommended to us by our painter and we were blown away by the craftsmanship and care he took for our new home. He does high end looking work for reasonable pricing. Get on the schedule--you need to choose this contractor. We will be having him back to do some more custom work!

CI waited a year to rate the work provided by Piccirillo enterprises. Tony was very professional in conversation. We hired him based on reviews. He had instead of the crew to work on our house one person and occasionally he came, not often. The work lasted two months longer than projected. The finished product overall looks nice. However after a year I've now had the plumbing fixed in the kitchen and both bathrooms. The problems were basic plumbing not done properly and leaking water caused more issues. I would not recommend hiring this person as you get presented with a plan that sounds great, then in retrospect get to pay thousands to finish the job so it not only looks nice but it actually functions properly. His worker Adam did the majority of the job and as I said it looks nice, but all the major things I had fixed were installed with Tony present. I did reach out to Tony about the issues and he offered to come look at the problems, but after spending alot of money to fix other issues i decided it was in my best interest that I hired another business to fix the problem.

AThis was a huge, multifaceted job--and it went superbly. Beau Rabetoy is a highly skilled craftsman and, no small matter, a terrific guy. He stayed on top of every detail and was unfailingly courteous and friendly, and always had our best interests in mind. (We won't miss the activity, but we'll miss him.) The end result is simply fantastic, like we have a new house. We cannot recommend Rabetoy Construction highly enough.
