Hvac Repair reviews in Greenwood Lake

  • Mark Lindsay & Son's personnel were courteous, polite and very professional. They explained everything in detail and answered every question that I had for them. They did a good job replacing sections of pipes that had frozen and busted as well as repaired my boiler. They checked and rechecked everything to make sure that I will have heat during the freeze we were having. In addition, they made recommendations so that I will not have the same issues I had. Excellent company- I will not use anyone else for my HVAC and plumbing needs.

  • I had a problem with a spider that made a nest in a real small tube in my gas furnace. The nest was preventing the gas from igniting properly throughout the system. It took them a long time, but they found it. It wasn't your typical problem.

They do good work and maintained it under warranty. They show up on time.

  • The technician was very professional and really knew his trade.  He went right to work and included me in on decisions that needed to be made.  At the end of the prior season, we noticed that there was a bit of water on the floor when the boiler would kick on.  It turned out that the pressure tank for the boiler had gone bad.  We were informed that this was not uncommon due to the age of the boiler.  We had our boiler installed 11 years ago.  All of the work was done quickly and efficiently.  My only problem was that the initial price quote was for $600.  I aid yes to the repair, as it had to be done. The final cost was a bit more than $900.  That final cost was a bit of a shock, but I guess good service and repairs from a reputable company costs $$ these days.   I am very happy with the repairs and I have already noticed a difference with our heating system.  The real test will come with the cold days and night in January and February.
The ladies in the office were very good on the phone setting up the appointment.  They even went the extra mile to call me back as there was some confusion with contact information and the location of my home.  They did a great job in tracking me down!!

  • I was informed by the operator that it may be a delay due to the snowstorm. I was called around noon that a technician was on the way. Jon B. arrived, took a look at the job and provided the service. He was courteous, professional and thorough. We were given a price up front, and we were charged that price despite him doing some extra work (a second leak). I have used Jones before and Jon's work was some of the best work I have ever received from them. My only issue is that Jones' price always tends to be on the high end. I understand it was an emergency call and everything, but I always weigh the work quality versus the price I will be charged before I call them.

  • We woke up to no hot water so we called GREENWOOD LAKE HVAC to look at the water heater they had installed. He stopped by the next day, took one glance at it, and said he'd have to come back the next day and talk to "Technical Service". I though HE was the SERVICE provider??  He didn't get back here for two days, the whole time two professional people were left w/ no hot water. He finally arrived - three hours late. He then proceeded to call the "Technical Support" of the manufacturer. I'm PAYING for all of this BTW. He then got into an argument with the tech support person he was dealing with. I overheard him asking, sounding angry, when SOMEONE ELSE could call him back and help him fix my water heater, as he had angered the first Tech Support person. Further conversation overheard was - he didn't want to have to just start replacing parts..

I asked him for some clarification: Let me get this straight, you're going to learn how to fix these doing this job, you are planning on replacing parts until something fixes it, I am paying for labor, parts and shipping. You cannot tell me when it is going to be fixed and the whole time we still wont have hot water.

for this he did not even offer any kind of solace whatsoever, he replied with a "YUP" a goofy grin. I told him that "I was not happy about this" in a manner that said - you have an unhappy customer, what are you going to do about it???

He then had the nerve to tell me not to be so naïve, shaking his head at me like I was some kind of moron.

I told him I no longer wanted his service and to leave my property. He started with a barrage of insults and I had to remind him twice to get off of my property.

I then called the "Technical Support" myself. Using Skype to view the unit we had it fixed in under ten minutes. When it was being installed the installer, Greenwood Lake HVAC, was supposed to remove ALL protective plastic coating. This was not done. some of the plastic had dried out, shifted position, and covered a vent. The vent then collected dust eventually blocking air cooling intake, causing the unit to heat up and trip some circuit. We cleaned it out and it works fine.

The guy at Greenwood Lake HVAC got kind of scary, I'd never go near them again.

  • He did not know anything about servicing this expensive unit. Remember we art two professional people that go to work every weekday like everyone else. We need hot water, the whole time this is going on neither my wife nor I could use any hot water.

He stopped over to look at the unit. the first time he was 3 1/2 hours late. No phone call - nothing. He merely reset some type of fuse by pressing a button. The unit turned on. He said "It works now." I asked him why the thing tripped and would we have to worry about it. He just shrugged and said he didn't know. His demeanor was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL the whole time, calling me "dude" and "bud". He never acted like he was sorry any of this happened even though he installed it himself about a year ago.

So I said to him "So basically you are going to learn how to fix that by replacing parts one by one until it works. The whole time I am paying for the Parts, your  time, and we will have no hot water!". He thought that was kind of funny as he just said "YUP". I said "Anthony I'm not real happy about this, then repeated my concerns mentioned above.

I was calm, did not raise my voice, use foul language, nothing like that. He continued to argue the point even after I had stopped.

When I asked him to drop it. He started to get loud. I told him to get out my house and he challenged me to "make him". I am disabled. Handicapped. I've had RA for 16 years and it has pretty much done me in and this guy was ready to fight in my own house.  He left the house in shambles, parts everywhere, screaming obscenities from his truck as he pealed out all over my front grass. This man is not only just someone that installs new units then is DONE with them, he's also has a dangerous temper. I should have called the Police on him.

  • I love this company.  I've used them before and I think they're the best.  I want to use them for all my air conditioning/heating needs but it's just too far out of their service area to come to me.  I don't know of anyone else I can trust other than D. Rhode Heating and Plumbing.  Call them people!!  They'll be honest and fair with you.

  • SOS fuels prompty delivers oil when asked to.  As we also use a wood stove we are not eligible for their automatic deliveries.
Their field personnel are pleasant and professional.  The ladies in the office are also helpful and courteous.
There are a few gentlemen in the office who could use a bit of charm school.

  • Can't even begin to tell you how wonderful this company was to deal with. From the estimate to the completed job, I was extremely happy with them. I was told the job would take 2 days to complete and true to their word, it was 2 days. They were professional with just a bit of humor which I liked. They went beyond their call of duty. Would not let me clean up as they did all the cleaning when they were done. There really wasn't a big mess but they vacuumed every single one of my rooms. They even fixed a window for me that I couldn't close and also fixed a light cover that was loose. After taking out the air conditioner, they put siding on the outside of my house that, of course, matched my siding and they fixed the inside wall.
If anyone EVER wants to get central air in their house, please give these people a call. I'm sure you'll love them just as I did.

    - Renee H.
  • They were great. Price was fine. Their responsiveness was very good. Their punctuality was fine. All around, they were great. I would absolutely use them in the future.
