    Mister Gutter Inc
I've had many projects crossed off my list this year. New driveway, stone work, pool repair, electrical work done and GUTTER CLEANING. I have to say of all the contractors/companies I worked with, Marty from Mr Gutter has been the best. Responsive, fair, up front and accommodating. As a business owner myself, I have to say it was a master class in service. This is how you treat customers and do a great job.

    Conlon Exteriors Inc.
From the initial call to obtain an estimate for a roof replacement, to the completion of the job, Conlon Exteriors surpassed my expectations. Friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and flexibility to work with my work schedule, both Jim and Michele (owners) were on point during each step of the project... arriving on time for the scheduled initial estimate, Jim actually went up on the roof to perform a visual inspection (other companies didn't), a well written and extremely detailed cost estimate was provided by mail only a few days later which contained fact sheets providing information on all the products/components deemed necessary for the project (Conlon supplied a job folder to keep it all organized as well shingle color samples to review at my leisure - loved that!), ease of scheduling, and the crew was very professional working efficiently to complete my job in only one day and left my property completely clean.

    Michael Basile Maintenance Inc
Mike appraised the condition of the chimney, made suggestions on how to handle the repair, and gave us a fair price. The chimney was framed, cased and painted, and the area cleared of any debris in the time estimated. Mike has also pressure washed our house, deck and vinyl fencing, cleaned the gutters, and painted our shutters (per his suggestion, rather than replacing them). It's a pleasure working with Mike and his team. He brings years of experience to the job.

    Leak Stoppers Inc
I had a bad experience with another roofer which led to leaking skylights.  I called Leak Stoppers and was able to set up an appointment rather quickly.  John came out, looked at the skylight from the inside and then hopped on the roof for a few minutes.  He came back with a detailed estimate and several pictures of the issues he found.
John was able to diagnose the skylight leak.  He also informed me that my bathroom fans weren't vented through the roof as they should be (just blowing moist air into the attic), pointed out deficient chimney flashing, a cracked chimney crown, and questioned whether my soffits were properly vented.  In addition to the diagnosis, he gave me a quote for full repair of all issues, as well as a separate quote for stop-gap repairs if it wasn't in my budget to fix everything now.
We went ahead with all repairs.  The work was scheduled quickly and his team was very efficient and professional (they even took their shoes off when they came in the house).  No issues with the quality of the repairs.
10/10 would recommend these guys.  The peace of mind is great to have back.  My house is dry, and John was able to help remedy some other problems that would certainly come back to bite me in the future if they weren't addressed.  This guy is a pro.

    Allied Construction Corp
I waited a long time to write this review, giving Allied a chance to right their wrongs. That has not happened. Full details below.
The company was very responsive after I purchased the Big Deal, and we scheduled the work shortly thereafter.
My original roof was about 27 years old. There were no issues with the roof, I was just trying to be proactive in having it replaced. I have two skylights, and I assume they were just as old. I specifically asked during our consultation about the skylights - whether they should be replaced or if they would be affected by the work. I was told no, they didn't need to be replaced, and no, they wouldn't be affected by the work. The roof was put on, and I was pleased.
A month later, we got heavy rains, and I had water pouring in from the corners (at the base of the drywall) of one of my skylights. I immediately contacted the project manager who worked on my roof. He said he would come and take a look. He sent his foreman (young kid) who spent a few minutes on the roof, told me he couldn't find a problem but would re-silicone everything.
Fast forward a few weeks, I still had water coming in. Again, I contacted the project manager. He and his foreman came out this time. Again, they couldn't diagnose a problem. They removed the shingles, put down all manner of protection (ice shield, flashing cement, etc.), re-shingled and were on their way.
Fast forward a year, I still have water issues in certain weather conditions. I sent an email to Allied, told them the situation, and that I would like to have someone different come out and diagnose the problem. I received a call from the owner, and he told me my original project manager would contact me. The project manager never contacted me. An awkward three-way phone call later, and I was in touch with the same project manager. I told them to just give me an estimate on replacing the skylights. They cancelled their original estimate appointment because the foreman "forgot his ladder" - not joking - that's the reason I was given. I haven't heard from them since.
I have since contacted another company. The owner came, took one look at the water stains and immediately had an idea of what the problem was. He went on the roof and confirmed. Not only did he diagnose the skylight, but he found issues with the chimney flashing, pointed out that my chimney needed some repointing, that my crown needed repairs, informed me that my bathroom vents weren't venting to the roof but directly to the attic, and offered to check that my soffets had proper ventilation holes to the attic. Everything was supported by pictures and detailed conversations. He quoted me for all the work and discussed in detail that we could make repairs if it wasn't in the budget to out-and-out replace everything.
From this experience, I have deduced that Allied is just a sales machine. I'm sure the project manager from Allied was a subcontractor, and a poor one at that. There was a clear lack of knowledge there, evidenced by the fact that he couldn't determine the issue. The owner of Allied, despite tough and concerned-sounding talk, did nothing to follow-up with me to make sure I was receiving the proper service after all these problems. While I wasn't charged for any of the follow-up visits by the subcontractor, they did use my extra shingles which were never replaced.
Bottom-line, these guys don't know what they're doing. Having the skylights replaced AFTER having the roof done is, without a doubt, costing me more money than if I had replaced the skylights at the same time. I'm left with water damaged and stained drywall around the skylight and down the adjacent wall, and I'll no doubt have to pay for drywall and paint work, too. They're not skylight experts, they're not roof experts, they're not customer service experts. I would not recommend that anyone use Allied for a roof. How they have an A-rating is pure chance, in my eyes. Find yourself a smaller company that will do the work themselves and guarantee it. Night and day between Allied and the other company I contacted.

    JC Roofing
Found and repaired a roof shingle area which was not repaired properly in the past by another company, allowing water to enter the house in small quantities.  He instantly diagnosed the problem, and since I had matching shingles, was able to repair the area on the initial visit.  Total time spent was about 15-20 minutes to fix the area, and his response time from when I called was only two days (no rain was in the forecast).  It's been two weeks and no leaks.  Would recommend to others.

    Leak Stoppers Inc
Everything seemed to go as planned. They were punctual. The price was reasonable and, hopefully, it passes the next rain test. If there is an issue we will call them and let you know.
    A nice experience so far.

    Fred's Chimney Magic
It was simple and convenient to make an appointment for the gutter cleaning.  The 2 man team showed up at the time scheduled, calling to let me know they were on their way.  They did a thorough, professional job cleaning the gutters (I knew one was particularly blocked as there was vegetation growing in it) testing to make sure all were draining properly.  Last couple of big rain storms we had here the gutters worked like new.  While on the roof, the tech noticed the rotted top of my furnace chimney (which I have been meaning to get fixed for some time).  He recommended having it fixed, and I agreed.  He studied the chimney to determine the best method of repair, took all the measurements and told me they would call back with an estimate.  The next day, they called back with the price, which based on some research I felt was a reasonable price.  They set an appointment at a time convenient for me, and again arrived as scheduled, after confirming the day before with an approximate arrival time, calling when they were on the way.  They did a very professional job fixing the chimney and putting on a chimney cap.  I was quite happy with all the work done.  They left the property in exactly the same condition as when they arrived.  The 2-man team was very easy to work with, explaining what they were going to do.  I will certainly use the company again in the fall!
