It was a great experience. Jose, the masoner, who works with Tim is an artist. His workmanship is second to none. The asphalt work was done by Tim and he was extremely easy to work with. We are thrilled with the final result!

Sven came and gave us an estimate to replace old, full nose bricks that were coming up and not secure around my pool.  He was timely, professional, and very communicative.  His estimate was on target and very reasonable.  His team worked quickly, efficiently, and they cleaned up after themselves.  The work started on a Thursday.  We notified Sven that we had a party that Saturday.  He made sure his team didn't start any areas they couldn't complete, and again, they made sure the area was clean and clear of any materials or work tools.  I can't say enough about Precision Masonry.  Would not hesitate to use them again.

We met with Giuseppe who is the owner and manager at Gappsi. We decided on a liner and a coping and he gave us an approximate starting date. The 3rd party liner installers showed up to measure and came to install about 3 weeks later. They installed the liner. It looked great except that one wall near the steps was now at an angle. You could tell they did not tamp enough. They gave us some lip service that the coping guys could fix it. That turned out to be a lie. The coping guys (3rd party) showed up one day without any advance warning (no phone call). They let our new puppy out. Fortunately, he returned about 4 hours later on his own. The coping was installed and it looked great. On further inspection, I noticed that the mortar had gaps between the liner and where the coping started. Then we turned the light on one night and noticed that the liner has what looks like bubbles all over. We called and left messages for Giuseppe that went unanswered. It seems Giuseppe doesn't have a mailbox on his phone and he may not get all his messages from the office (there's never anyone there). When Gappsi called to settle the bill, we asked if anyone was going to come over and look at our issues. I then received a call from an irate Giuseppe. He was claiming that we were trying to get out of paying and bringing up issues in order to make paying him difficult. He constantly told me how he wasn't making $1 million dollars on my job. I paid him after hearing him complain about how much money he lost on doing my pool and realizing that he wasn't going to do anything but waste my time if we met to look at the issues I had with his work. He was obviously not interested in even looking at it. I told him that now that he was paid I wondered if he would even care about the sub par work that was done on my pool.

I haven't heard from Gappsi since I paid them. Giuseppe is not someone that you want to do business with. He uses 3rd party contractors to do the work and then never checks or cares if they do a good job. Use someone else that does the work that they give you a quote on.

    Anthony Peter Masonry
Anthony assessed our situation with our existing patio which had grading and leakage problems.  He came up with effective solutions that met our budget - where others couldn't.  He kept things simple and explained his approach in terms that we understood.  We agreed to move forward and then we had to work with each other's summer schedules to figure out when the job would get done.  Again, Anthony made this a fairly painless process.  He accurately estimated the time he would need to get the work done and then worked around our vacation schedules and his own booked work.
Once the job started, his team remained dedicated to its completion until it was done.  Anthony Peter was on-site every day and very hands on (literally) with nearly all aspects of the project.  With regard to our grading/leakage problems, Anthony and team put a new layer on the patio that insured that rain would drain away from the house.  I can't adequately describe all aspects of the job, but in many ways - big and small - the team went above and beyond what was requested/specified in the original estimate.  One of Anthony's mottos is "I work the job like it's my own house".   Here are some examples of how he did that at our place:
    * the team performed some landscaping at the areas immediately around the patio and walkway.
    • * they applied a resurface coating to some concrete walls below the patio - to make them look good
    • * they continued the job through a potentially dangerous situation when an unseen/underground yellow-jacket's nest

Anyway, the finished product came out great and has been enjoyed ever since.  After 12+ years living here with a mediocre / somewhat broken-down patio area - we finally have a beautiful space.  Thanks Anthony!

The whole experience with this company was nothing but professional, from start to finish.  I called to get an estimate in the middle of the summer last year, and while they explained it was their busy season, they still got to me within a few days to get me a quote.  Devin came by our home, and he was so knowledgeable it made our head spin a little bit.  You can tell he's been in the business for a long time, but he must have worked really hard to learn everything because he couldn't have been older than early 30's. That didn't matter though.  He explained what needed to be done to make our backyard look how we envisioned it, and then the next thing that happened pretty much sold the job.  We didn't even care what the price was after this.  THAT NIGHT he told us he had a 3D design and a contract ready for us to sign, if everything looked good.  He came back two days later, showed us the entire presentation on his computer and that was really it.  Nobody else did that.  Nobody else even came back for a second visit with us.  It may have been an average job to a mason, but for us it was a LOT of money, and we wanted to spend it with the right people.  After all the song and dance, with the follow up post card to thank us for our time to the 3D presentation, he was still literally only a couple of dollars more than our family friend who is a mason.  He was about $10,000 less than the other "big" company that came by to sit with us.  We  are not nuts about getting estimates, as 3 is more than enough, but we wanted to do our part as members of this site to let you know that if you're considering calling Flawless, you don't have to think about it anymore.  They didn't know us from a hole in the wall.  We didn't get special treatment or pricing.  We got the feeling they treat every customer and every job like they treated us, and we want you to have the same experience.

I had been searching around for a masonry company to replace a very old, unsightly walkway and stoop, a job we put off for years due to financial concerns. The stoop had started to crumble, and I was worried someone would get hurt, so I bit the bullet and started calling around for quotes. I wanted someone who knew what they were doing, but I also knew this wasn't going to be a $30,000 patio or pool job, so I figured it wasn't going to be easy finding someone legitimate (as in, licensed and insured) who would be willing to do a smaller job. The first couple of calls I made to people, I had to leave messages; no one ever called back. Eventually, I managed to get two different companies to come out and quote, and they came in around $6-7,000.00, trash talked their competitors, and swore they'd make my house a and quot;showplaceand quot;. I didn't want a showplace. I wanted a mason who could replace my walkway for a reasonable price. I had seen a black and white ad in a local publication (those big color show-off type ads make me nervous), placed by a mason named Tom McNally, who I later found out is the owner of Atomic Brick Interlocking Pavers. He was from the neighborhood, so I figured I'd give him a call. The person who answered the phone when I called told me it might be late at night, or even a few days, before I would get a call back, as Tom was so busy. I figured, ok, I'll give it a few days - but he called that night (can't lie, I was kind of surprised) and said he'd come by to check out what I needed. He showed up the next day, listened to what I wanted, and offered a number I could live with. I asked how long it would be before he could do the job, and he said it would be a few weeks -maybe beginning of November. I mentioned that I was worried about the stoop being broken, and since Halloween was coming, I had hoped to have it fixed before the 31st so kids wouldn't fall or get hurt trick-or-treating. He offered to come by before Halloween and reset the broken stone as a stop-gap measure (no charge), as well as bring a sample stone in the color/style I was considering for the walkway. I decided right there that he was the guy for our walkway - the quote was fair, he was friendly and honest, and I figured, he lives right around the corner so I can always bug him if he screws up (just kidding - sorta.) About a week went by, and I didn't hear from him - I figured he forgot about fixing the stone. Then, I was on my way out one day, and there he was, fixing the step. Then a few days later, he showed up with three different shades of bluestone so I could decide which one I wanted for the step. We discussed the layout of the walkway, how high I wanted the stoop to be, and a few other things, and he GOT it. He knew what I was after, DIDN'T try to tell me what to do (which the other guys tried to do) and, most important, understood our budget concerns. Long story short - we were really impressed with Tom's masonry skill. He definitely takes pride in what he does, and is on the job site for all the important parts of the project. (I was a bit concerned when he left for an hour or two towards the end, but his guys obviously knew what they were doing, so I worried needlessly.) The walkway and stoop/step came out beautifully, we love the Cambridge paving stone, the layout, and the pattern/layout he and the two guys working with him figured out. My husband, who is notoriously suspicious of pro contractors, was really impressed - so I'm hoping we can use Tom again in the future for a couple of other projects I'm mulling over for next year. It was a pleasure working with him, and we are very happy with our new walkway.

    Anthony Peter Masonry
Anthony sized up the work a few months earlier and gave us an estimate. He promised to work our small job into his calendar when he was less busy. This worked fine for us. When Sandy hit, we got a little nervous that Anthony's schedule would fill up with big jobs. So we called to follow up. He was very responsive and assured us that he hadn't forgotten his promise. A date was scheduled and he stuck to it. He worked the project with one assistant and it came out great.

    Best Way Chimney
Work was done on time and professionally. Estimate included only re-pointing the brickwork and patching holes as well as installing the liner and limited sealing. When work commenced they determined that the 5 top layers needed to be completely redone and it was completed at no extra charge. Original problem was condensation after installation of new efficient boiler. all condensation has disappeared.
