    Response to set up a tech visit for a diagnosis is very good, but with a $75.00 charge. The tech was very young and did not listen to what had occurred thus our claim was denied for a new water heater. We did appeal and the appeal agent, Lydia was very short and only kept quoting the contract which did not apply to the decision, a waste of time. We have cancelled our renewel and will unfortunately not ever recommend this company to anyone.

    I called Choice Home Warranty and their response time was fantastic. A repairman came out within 48 hours, however, the total cost to fix it was $1200 so Choice Home Warranty felt it would be best to replace. At First, they were going to send me $299 check to find a new washing machine, but I had a hard time accepting that; then they offered $349 and I still had hard time with that amount so they finally agreed to send me a check for $400. Choice Home Warranty offers what they feel is retail for a new appliance which can sometimes be lower than regular retail. All in all, I continue to be pleased with Choice Home Warranty.

    I inquired about a home warranty program and the second I filled out the request, I received 8 phone calls in one hour. I told them that based on reviews that I saw, I decided not to purchase a warranty from them. I was treated from outright rudeness to not being able to get the sales person off the phone. I continued to get 3-4 calls a day for about two weeks even though I asked to desist. I still get 2-3 calls a week and most of the time they just hang up when I tell them I'm not interested. If you want to get hassled, harassed and generally bothered at any time of the day or night, this is the company for you. If you want to deal with a professional company that is interested in your business and goes about it in a decent, professional manner, this is not the company for you.

    First, there were several things that I've learned they don't cover even though the sales rep assured me their coverage is equal to what I had with American Home Shield.  For example, my outside faucet started leaking.  Had one fixed before my AHS contract was up and it works great now.  Called Choice Home for the one that started leaking recently and they said "all faucets are not covered on your policy inside and out".   They post updates to the claim on their web site and allow you to post responses/feedback to the same claim, but they hide your contributions from showing up on the audit trail-only their posts appear.  What?  You don't want me to see my follow-up? They will go ahead and cancel a claim without talking to you if they send you 3 follow-up emails.  Sounds reasonable right?  But every time I call in I get 20" minute hold time and I can't always wait that long.  My attempts are not logged.   If you get Septic coverage and pumping, your system has to back-up before they will agree to pump it.  Don't buy this service.   Overall the biggest disappointment is in their customer service -which for most companies is the easier-to-fix item because it involves your systems and your people.  Waiting on hold for 20+ minutes every time you call is horrible.

    The motor in the furnace had started making noise. I was told that the furnace was too old and that parts weren’t available. Choice Home Warranty put the blame on me and would not give money to purchase a new one.

    American Home Shield – Home Warranty
    On July 2nd, we put in a request for a service call. Our sewer pipe backed up and we had waste water coming up out of the drain in our basement bathroom. Within a few minutes, they assigned a plumber and said that the plumber would contact us within 24 business hours. If you do the math, that comes out to three business days! We called both the plumber and AHS, stating that this was an emergency (especially as it was happening over a holiday weekend). The plumber, Brunswick Building Services, never responded to us. AHS put us on hold for 40 minutes, and when the service person said they couldn't speed the process up, we asked to speak to a manager. Needless to say we never heard from one. We finally called a "snaking service" since we had sewage- filled water coming onto our basement carpets. The problem was solved for the same price as the AHS co-pay.
