    Pacific Lawn Sprinklers
Pacific Lawn Sprinkers were faced with several challengers due to the rules and regulations of our Water Authority. They met all the challenges in a very professional and timely manner. The workers were very hard working and efficient. In addition they were careful to do as little damage to our plantings as possible.

    Remodel Magic
I own a house in Great Neck that has a really old basement and that got damaged due to a flood from the water tank bursting. I called many contractors to give estimates. Remodel Magic gave a awesome price leave it to me, I make it beautiful. Best decision of my life. These guys came in destroyed the old walls took out all the garbage including an old oil tank and gas heater. Made a brand new custom bathroom. New plumbing and electricity for the basement including a 220 volt which i wanted for a foreign appliance. LED lights, custom washing machine place. They also did some extra work that was not discussed in the contract free. Whole thing took around 10 days with 4 guys working on most days. I wish I took a before and after pic it was insane transformation. The elderly man who rents the next door neighbors basement asked me if I would give him our basement for 2k. Not for rent im going to enjoy this place for myself with a large TV and leather couch.

    NDA Kitchen & Construction Inc
Things are great when you're in contract. Post-contract customer service is utterly disappointing. My husband and I decided to go with NDA after speaking with multiple contractors. NDA was the most expensive option, but they were also the most thorough and professional. NDA's contract is extremely detailed in regards to material and pricing. Their designer, John Nelson, is amazing. Big shout out to John for designing a beautiful and functional kitchen. He took the time to design a great dining area while other contractors simply wanted to keep the old layout and slap on new cabinets. The workers on-site were efficient and diligent about keeping the place as clean as possible. The one major complaint I have is the grout and caulk work - both in the kitchen and the bathroom. The caulk between the backsplash and countertop has separated - for the second time now. Grout in multiple areas of the bathroom developed a crack. The grout at one corner of my bathroom window is cracked and yellowing. Our major concern is possible mold, which is a pain to remedy. We've reached out to NDA about these issues several times since November. They still haven't been able to resolve the issue. There's a general reply about checking worker schedules or reviewing the request but NO follow through. This has been very frustrating. Based on these events, I would not recommend or use NDA again for future projects.

    A.M. Shield Waterproofing Corp
I had an excellent experience with AM Shield from start to finish. The cost estimate was competitive and the job was completed on time, on budget and according to the specifications. I highly recommend them for all waterproofing work.

    Stanley Gelber & Sons Inc
I hired Stan Gelber & Son to install a new furnace, humidification system, and HEPA filtration system on the furnace and two other units in the attic. The unit was a steam humidifier which brings water into the unit, heats it into steam which then goes through the ductwork when the humidistat calls for humidity. During the first week, my thermostat showed that the temperature in the house was reading about 80 degrees, when I was calling for low 70s. . However, my thermostats in the house showed extremely low humidity- only about 22%. The guy who came did not really give me any information on what had gone wrong, but that it was electrical. Well, things then went from bad to worse. The humidistat kept registering over 60% humidity coming back into the ductwork, the humidification unit did not appear to be running and my humidity in the house itself was down to low 20s. Visit number two. The guy who came said that while some humidity was being sent through the ductwork, it appeared most of it was making a loop and simply going back into the return. Mr. Gelber suggested at that point that they take the humidistat off the unit and place it upstairs in the house. He wanted to charge me an additional $300.00 for that work. There was no attempt to find out why the reading in the return was so high, and no one checked out the unit itself to see if it was even operating when humidity was being called for, or why all the humidity seemed to be going into the return and not the house. It should have been obvious that it was the first place to troubleshoot, and that if all the moisture was going back into the return and not going through the ductwork into the house that moving the humidistat was not the answer. I finally called a different company for an opinion. It turned out that , the humidification unit was not signaling the furnace blower when humidity was being called for. In other words, the unit was not even operating. Whatever the first guy did concerning the electric problem he said existed, the second guy made it worse and screwed it up so that the unit was not even operating on demand.I In addition, as per the manufacturer of the steam unit, who I spent lengthy amounts of time on the phone with, the humidistat was supposed to be at least five feet upstream from the humidifier, and it was not. The humidistat was picking up on all the moisture in the unit which was not being pumped through the system, which was why the reading was so high. I hired the second company to remove the unit and put in a pass through unit, which I have had no issues with. Brian Gelber really should have looked into the reason the unit was not even operating and sending humidity through the house instead of trying to soak me for extra money for a procedure which would have accomplished nothing, and possibly led to damage in my basement from leakage and/or flooding. The steam unit, BTW, was so corroded that there were pieces of broken metal lying all over it and tons of calcification from the water which just sat there. The inside had cracked and corroded so that it looked like it was decades old instead of merely about six months. When I told him he really should reimburse me for the humidification system as well as for half the yearly contract I paid him for, since I did not feel I wanted him to do any further work in the house, he was willing to return some money if I signed a non-disclosure promising I would not tell anyone, would not post on social media, write reviews, etc. He even sent me a copy of what he wanted me to sign along with the letter telling me what he expected in return for a refund. Something tells me he would have a lot more negative reviews but people are taking his deal to shut up in order to get some money back. I felt it was more important to warn people about this company. A photo of the corroded steam humidifier is shown below They also installed two HEPA filtration systems on my attic units which are way too small ( he insisted the area was too small to warrant larger units) and as a result I have dust everywhere because the units to not clear it all out. They now need to be replaced. A very disappointing experience, not only because there seems to be a lack of knowledge on how this unit was supposed to work and therefore the inability to troubleshoot it on the part of this company , but because they seem to want to keep charging extra if there is an issue when the initial price of thousands of dollars should have assured me of a working unit without additional charge. I am also out the money for the unit and its installation as well as the money for part of a service contract, but then I had to pay someone to remove it and install a new system as well. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Our bathroom sink was clogged. I took apart the drain pipes under the sink but the clog was deeper in the pipes in the wall. Found Maco on Angie's list and they came that afternoon. Very Prompt. They fixed the problem and reassembled the pipes I had taken apart. Very professional and quality work. If you are looking for fast, quality service I would recommend them.

    Men On The Move
Very professional company and reasonable prices with no extra charges at the end! They made a stressful move so much easier. They were prompt, didn't damage anything and took care of minor things (such as getting into building, where to park, dealing with front desk reception, etc) without having to bother us with every little detail. We were very lucky to have two of the nicest movers help us, Greg and Sidney. They were personable, kind, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was just right.

    E Scheblein Plumbing & Heating
I used Eric Scheblein and his father before him for decades. They were reliable and knew their stuff. All of a sudden, they have become unreliable and unresponsive. I called for three months trying to get to at least speak to Eric about the work I needed done and could not get a call back. His office kept telling me he was so busy he was never in the office and they never even "saw him". Give me a break. He had just gone tens of thousands of dollars of work for me in this new house within the past couple of years. Something has gone very wrong here, he has left me without a plumber, and the lack of response after decades is disturbing more than puzzling. Obviously his company has become unreliable. They certainly are not responsive.

    Optimum Electric LLC
Paul and Nick were consummate professionals. They came to my house to provide a free estimate, and their estimate was lower than others I received. They went above and beyond to reach out to my village building department to find out if any permits or registrations were required and took care of it ahead of time. They were also very responsive via text, email, and phone. Finally, they finished their work quickly and efficiently. They estimated 3 hours, but were so on-task that they finished in two. Would definitely hire again. A+.

Fast Locksmith and Security Systems NYC
After an exhausting day at work, coming home, realized I was locked out of my apt. Probably the worst emotional experience that a human being can go through. I called Avi and he was extremely prompt, showed up with a smile and he was finished under 10 minutes. Thank you Quick Locksmith for showing up and thank you for your great customer service! Will recommend to anyone.
