  • The new roof looks great. They removed the old shingles, replaced the rotted wood where necessary and installed a new roof. They also installed new soffit and gutters. The crew is very professional and their attention to detail is amazing. After requesting a lot of estimates from different companies, I chose Nisi for the quality of work they offer and I could not be happier with the results. I highly recommend them.

  • One of their representative (Marty?) came to give me a quote. He was on time but I was late 10 minutes. However, he was patient and greeted me with a smile. During the free consultation, he made a good suggestion of relocating the gutter downspouts from the front of the house to the side for better aesthetic. We discussed using the heavier 0.32 thick 5" gutter with a larger downspout 3x4. I picked Mister Gutter because Marty was the only one out of three quotes who carefully walked me around the house and made suggestions for improvements. He was also open to discussion to which type of gutter I should use without trying to push me to get them.
    On the day of the actual work (one week later), Pedro came earlier than expected with a crew of 4. Pedro was extremely friendly and constantly smiling. He also made a good suggestion on that day to redirect the downspout from the driveway to the side yard instead. He noted that directing water down the driveway would ice it up in the winter. I had not thought of that before! In addition, he was also open to last minute changes, like using a longer downspout extensions and removing the ugly unused antenna on the roof. They even applied some kind of sealant on the old nail holes that used to hold up the previous gutter downspout. After that, they applied white paint on where the old gutter downspout used to be. Finally, they picked up all the dirt and used a blower to clean up the yard space around the house.
    In all, I was very impressed. They did not leave any work to be done afterward.

  • One of the partners (Marty) came out on Saturday (per my request) to estimate and price the job. He showed up promptly, as scheduled. Sent me back an official proposal the same evening. I accepted the proposal and we scheduled for the following week.

    The crew showed up on time, and performed everything as discussed. Went without a hitch. The whole process took ~1 hour.

    Overall, I would use them again.

  • Every single major repair was done flawlessly and timely. The least significant was the column and it proved to be the most troublesome. It took over a year to accomplish. The employee who was in charge was out for a few months and then left the company and the project fell through the cracks.

  • On December 6, 2012, I signed a contract with P&E Home Remodeling Inc. (NY License #: 1421582) for a roof
    replacement project and Jim/James McCaig (owner/representative) took a deposit of $4663 and promised to start
    the job in a couple week. Since then, the company did not make any progress (not even got a working permit).
    I tried to contact the company through phone calls and emails but have minimal response for over two months. 
    Repeated phone calls and emails were ignored.  
    The company could not even provide me a project date.  On Jan 7 2013, I notified P&E Home Remodeling Inc. through
    email to cancel the project and requested a refund. However, the company refused the request and again ignore us.
    In March 2013, we filed a case against the company in Staten Island small claim court while continue to contact the company
    trying to resolve the case. Again, we were ignored.  In June 2013, I attended the hearing of the Staten Island
    small claim court which
    the defendant (P&E Home Remodeling Inc.) did not show up at all. After I won the judgement which is sent over
    to the company, the owner chose to still ignore the judgement and my phone calls. The deposit check I gave to the
    company for the project was cashed through a check cashing place in order to hide their company bank account.
    In the process of checking the background of P&E Home Remodeling Inc., I found that James McCaig used to operate
    a contracting company named P&E Contracting in 2008 and had a list of clients against the company in the Staten Island
    small claim court. All these evidences showed that this company (and it owner James/Jim McCaig) have
    repeatedly took money from clients and ignore legal enforcement. I strongly believe that a company with a
    valid NY contracting license should be hold responsible for their legal responsibilities or their
    licese should be revoked/suspended so that no more innocent clients will become their victims.

  • The entire experience was perfect, overall.  I had gotten two other estimates prior to meeting Marty from The Gutter Guy, and made my decision not solely on price (which was a bit cheaper than the other two), but also on the fact that The Gutter Guy was highly recommended on Angie's List.
    After our initial meeting, we were able to schedule an appointment for about a week a later.  A team of three arrived at around 8:30am and worked tirelessly until about 2pm until the job was complete.  They cleaned up all the debris when they were done.
    I asked them after they finished the job if they had enough material to put a matching leader on the air conditioning vent pipe (which was not part of the original contract, so it was wishful thinking on my part), but they just didn't have enough material.  After they left Marty called me and told me his crew mentioned my request, and he wants to send them back on another day to do it for me at no extra charge.  This kind of service is very scarce nowadays, and I was very impressed, to say the least.  They came back and installed the leader to hide the vent pipe, and now everything looks great.
    I highly recommend The Gutter Guy. They're fair, honest, and go out of their way to make a customer happy.

  • During the storms of the previous winter, I noticed the gutter running the length of the front of my house was "bowing" in the middle when it was packed with ice and snow.  During the non-Winter months, however, it appeared fine and there was no weight on it.  I was told by the company cleaning my gutters that it needed to be repaired and that they would "re-nail" it to the house.  I didn't trust this solution, so I accessed Angie's List and contacted All Flow Gutter Cleaning using the 1 hour callback feature.  Martin Quinlan, the owner, called me back quickly and said he would come by later in the day to give me an estimate.  He came at the time he said, checked the gutter and explained that the fascia board behind the gutter was rotting, preventing any nails from truly securing the gutter. He took pictures using his iPhone (he was up on a long ladder), showed me the problem, and recommended that the fascia  be replaced in addition to the gutter.  I also mentioned that the gutter over a small, entryway roof was constantly overflowing.  He explained that the downspout was in the wrong location and he would correct that when he installed the new gutter.  I gave him the OK on the entire job, but explained that I was leaving for vacation in a day or 2. He said that he would take care of it while I was away and didn't even need a deposit! When I came back from vacation, I could see that the job had been done exactly as Martin had explained it.  The new fascia, gutter, and downspout had been installed.  I was more than satisfied and would hire him again in a minute.

  • They have done work for me before and there had been a bit of rudeness involved. I saw that he was on Angie's List so I called them again to do an inspection of my roof and gutters. I have a Treks deck and I needed a larger hole cut to fit the gutter coming down. He let me know that he wouldn't be able to do that. There was another downspout by the garage and driveway and he said he thought he would be able to do that. From the beginning, he was abrupt. He kept mentioning that to clean my gutters would be a charge. I explained that I didn't want them cleaned that I just needed the roof and gutters inspected to make sure everything was ok. Once he realized he wasn't getting paid, he refused to get on the roof. We walked back down by the driveway and he received a phone call. He walked out to the street to talk on the phone and I waited until he was finished. After he finished his call, he got into his truck and drove off. No goodbye, no I'm sorry I can't do this, nothing - he just drove off. I'm not sure there is anything else more rude to do to a customer. He never seemed interested in what I was asking him to do. He wasn't cooperative at all.

  • The sub left sharp chards of metal all over the yard. They also did the sawing on my lawn, leaving a large dead patch. It wasn’t until later in the season that I discovered the mess, so I chose not to pursue it. However, I was very dissatisfied with the service overall.
