    Precision Overhead Garage Door Service
Went well. He needed to replace a part. The noise that was there was gone. We still had some questions about the springs vs the weight of the door which are pending. I would give him a B+ or A-. Nice guy.

Long Island Garage Doors Repair & Services
First of all, he told me that he will be there at 4pm, and also, he said if he can't get there at 4pm, he will give me a call and he didn't call me and I was waiting until 5pm to see if he is really coming, the first thing he got into the house, I told him the problem of the garage door and immediately, he just told me that which part was broken, and he wanted to charge me $300 dollars and he kept saying that he charged the cheapest in Long island. and I told him that last time when I asked someone to come in, he only charge me about $100 or so, and it was just an alignment problem. Since he didn't even inspect what was going on, so I refused his service, and he charged me $40 just because he came over to my house. I paid him the $40 anyways because I didn't want him to make a scene in my house when my kids are there. then I called up another garage company, they came over and they inspected my garage and found out that it was only a replacement of the garage and he charged me $140 for the same matter and now my garage door is working perfectly. This company is such a scam! You should be very careful with this guy, he was very unprofessional and I would never recommend him to anyone.

    Becker Garage Door Company Inc.
Sam was the guy who came to do the service. He cleaned and lubricated everything that needed it. He also went above and beyond to make sure a battery I did not know I had was changed.
I would highly recommend this company

I bought a $100 coupon here 1 month ago.  It took 4 weeks for the first  appointment to be made.  That was a no-show.  Another appointment was  made for the end of the week.  That appointment was cancelled only AFTER I called to see it all was well.  My experience with this company  stinks.  Makes me wonder of the A evaluations are legit.
So far, I paid money for service I have yet to receive.  And it does not look like I will get the service any time soon.

    ROLL-O-MATIC GARAGE DOORS
Roll-o-matic had already replaced an old electric opener mechanism a year ago and did a fantastic job, and then helped us after Hurricane Sandy figure out how to work the manual override. When I backed into the garage door and damaged it severely (we thought), we were concerned that there would be a lengthy and expensive repair/replacement process involving lots of parts and hardware. It was none of those things. John came and fixed it promptly and very inexpensively. Roll-o-matic is phenomenal - prompt, professional and reasonably priced. I have and will continue to recommend them far and wide!

    ROLL-O-MATIC GARAGE DOORS
f When my wife atttempted to leave for work in the morning, the garage door would not open.  After manually opening it for her, I closed it and attempted to open it electrically.  It would just make a noise, but the chain would not move.  I then did some research on the Internet and learned that I probably had a stripped gear in the motor.  Replacing it myself appeared to be a rather daunting exercise, so I accessed Angie's List and found Roll-O-Matic.  I called and left a message on their voicemail/answering machine late in the day.  They called back first thing the next morning and sent a repair person within 3 hours.  The repairman was extremely knowledgeable, knew exactly what was wrong, and provided me with a number of repair options.  He fixed the unit in about 30 minutes, replaced the bulb socket as well (I had complained that the light bulb always seemed to loosen), replaced the battery in the external remote opener, and lubricated the rails with White Lithium; a very thorough job!  I was very pleased with the work and professionalism and would definitely call them again.

    L & L Overhead Garage Doors Inc
While 3 other vendors said they could not come for several days, L&L showed up in the rain within 2 hours of being called, saw what needed to be done and took care of it right away. They were professional and personable. Unlike a prior vendor used 1-2 years ago, they did not try to convince me to change or replace the entire unit/door. Great experience.

    Mastercraft Remodeling & Construction Specialists
In the spring of 2010 Carmine gave us an estimate for the renovation of a small bathroom. His estimate was slightly higher than that of another contractor. We ignored items Carmine itemized, like leveling the floor and ceiling, getting walls plumb, etc.  We assumed that those were self-understood and selected the other contractor due to his lower estimate and his membership to BBB, NARI, and NKBA. Big mistake! We ended up with many issues, some related exactly to the items Carmine listed (like horrible tile work), and, even worse, with a couple of leaks that contractor refused to even check on. This expensive lesson made us appreciate the value of a thorough estimate listing up in front issues that could be expected and, where possible, price associated.

Therefore in November 2010 we asked Carmine to provide us with an estimate for the master bathroom renovation. Carmine impressed us again with his thoroughness: he studied the plans with great care, realized that some sizes did not add up and had an associate check all measurements from the plans. He found the mistake and therefore the plan was corrected. We decided to hire Carmine for the master bathroom project. At the time he was working on a whole house remodeling project, but he expected to finish it in 1-2 months. However the home owner kept adding new items to the scope of that project and Carmine was not available to start our project until June 2011.  (During that time we kept in touch and, though we were disappointed about the delay, Carmine made sure that we understood that when he started a job he finished it to the home owner satisfaction, no matter how long it took.)

Before the work started Carmine met with us to discuss & nail down all details; e.g. when he heard that waterproofing was a major concern he proposed solutions and their additional price. The work on our master bathroom project was an example of how a perfect home renovation project should be run. Carmine took care of every detail (from materials to the sub schedules to days he spent setting the ceramic tiles veins patterns to make it look like marble). He checked with us before making any decision and made cut-outs from cardboard to help us visualize the result.

The bathroom came out beautiful and it made us trust Carmine with more work we wanted done: we decided to remodel all house interior. We also wanted some repairs done to the exterior, which turned into a whole house siding and painting job. The project was completed in early March 2012. During this time Carmine was as thorough as in the first day and he did not consider any minor detail as less important than major work items. He juggled jobs based on craftsmen schedules, such that  the project went on at all times. His main concern was for us to be happy with the results and he worked with us to insure that.

We were so happy with the result that we already discussed our next project, the kitchen renovation, in the near future.

    VANN'S GARAGE DOOR
The battery backup failed to work some time later, when we had a power failure. They sent a tech back to "fix" it, and it still did not work with the next power failure. Vann himself then told me that it was an "add on" backup", and they had problems with it, since it apparently does not work with most openers. He offered to replace the opener with a brand new unit which had a built in battery backup, and said he would give me a credit for the one he was replacing. He gave me a price somewhere in the mid $200s. I called a few months later, and he did not return my call. I called at least four times, getting someone on the phone one of those times, and left messages. He never returned any calls, and I never heard from him again. I finally got someone else in who replaced the unit with one which had the built in backup, and it cost less than what Vann's was going to charge me with a "credit". Not only did this other company do a great job, but the new opener is quieter and faster than the one Vanns original installed. I would not go near Vann's again, no matter what.

    VANN'S GARAGE DOOR
The battery backup never worked. Although someone came here a couple of times to troubleshoot it, Vann later admitted that there were problems with the battery backup, that it did not work well with the garage door opener. The only option he could offer was a small refund of what it had cost, and the chance to buy a whole new opener with a built in battery backup. Eventually, I called a number of times, with no response to my messages, to talk to him about removing what was here, and installing a whole new unit. I was willing, at this point, after being without power one day for nine hours, to spend whatever I needed to to change the unit for a working one. I never heard from him, and could not reach him.
