  These guys are the best! They came on time to first appointment to provide a quote. Their prices were fair and they performed the work in one day! The crew was very professional, clean, and super polite! Mike, one of the managers was very clear in providing the quote and what work would be done. We felt very comfortable hiring Royal! We would hire them again and recommend them to anyone!!!

  They were honest m told me I deserved a credit bc I didn't need a sweep bc it was clean ... They were prompt ...honest and knowledgeable... If only all businesses were run this way... I will b the first to recommend them to anyone I know

  Bill White Roofing & Waterproofing

  I purchased from Angies List the $69 skylight sealing and roof inspection. Mr. White came with a worker and an associate, I'm not sure exactly. After the worker was on my roof for less than an hour. Mr White and partner went up to inspect the roof, I showed them  damage in my kitchen and under my windows from what seemed to be water. They really didn't seem to know where the damage it was coming from although they noticed that my windows in the rear of my home were not sealed. At first they said the roof needed repaired and sealed, they quoted me a price of $4,000.00. When they saw that I was reluctant, they were persistent and were eager to do the job that day, that they had the availability  and said they would repair the roof and seal it for $3,200.00.
  I said I wanted to shop it around but they were insistent and offered to seal the windows as well. So I agreed. I don't know what kind of repair they were doing however the worker barely made a noise. I think he just tared around the seams and the chimney. I then looked on AngiesList at the deals and found I deal for $1,349.00 which stated a "Flat Roof Revitalization" from Vandelay Contracting. This seemed to be exactly what I was getting and I confronted Mr. White, he said that the were some cheap contractors on Angies List and that he would be doing a quality job and that he was also going to seal my windows. He insisted I show him the deal which I printed out and showed him. I thought another $1,850.00 just to seal my windows and who was to say I was getting a quality job or this other contractor was not quality. I felt that very little was being done for what I was paying and I really needed to cut my losses at that point and said that I would pay him for what he had done and not to proceed any further. Mr White said he had done half the job already yet they had only maybe sealed the seams of my roof and chimney. It hadn't even been coated.  After going back and forth with him and his associate about what really needed to be done and what he had really accomplished for the price, I said fine I'll pay you $1,600.00. I just wanted them out of my home, but he insisted on finishing the job and coating the roof for the $1,600.00. A second truck came with the coating material and his worker went onto the roof and again I barely heard anything. He finished and I paid. I figured the coating needed time to dry so I waited before looking at the job. When I went up to the roof, it was not coat, again just the seams and the chimney were coated. I would never use this contractor again nor recommend him to anyone. They are high priced, dishonest and high pressure.

  Really loved this company. First it started with Jeannette's communicativeness. But the bulk of it was due to Evan's professionalism and almost engineer-like grasp of chimney structural intricacies. And his smooth salesmanship. When he informed me of the corroding terracotta, I didn't believe he was trying to simply make the company more money by suggesting the liner. The way he described it made perfect sense. Plus I had heard about that stainless steel liners are now required for all new constructions. I didn't want to mess around with safety. The Lifetime guarantee of the work also makes one feel at ease.
  Initially his price point was high compared to other reviews on Angies List. They negotiated with me which was great. He even offered for me to talk directly with the owners if I had any questions. I can tell they really respected the owners (not always the case in any business!) which I think has alot to do with the workers' high morale.
  Liam and Tommy were top notch too. Very sweet guys. They had to do some jackhammer work as the flue opening was too small for the liner and Liam knocked on my door to let me know it was done and I won't be disturbed anymore, though I never complained about it. Tommy even shoveled my steps!
  Only thing is they caught me off guard when they came because they didn't call beforehand to let me know they were on their way as Jeannette promised.
  All in all, probably the best experience I've had with workers on my house so far.

  Best Way Chimney

  Roger came unassisted (his usual co-worker was ill) & did all work himself, having to circulate between roof & basement to get various tasks done, but was finished in a comfortable 2-2.5 hours. He explained very clearly (& wrote out on his bill) exactly what was done.
  I am very impressed by Roger's professionalism, apart from the work itself: from his prompt, clear & detailed price estimate to the fact that he called in twice while detained on the day of the job. His manner in all cases was friendly, accessible, unhurried, & lucid.
  I was also impressed by this: When I explained some of the options that another company wanted to perform along with the essential liner/chimney cap work, Roger explained why he felt that these were superfluous (from my viewpoint, a positive thing for not adding to cost).
  Finally, relative to the price estimate I got from the other company, Roger's price seemed very reasonable.

  Knockout Masonry Corp

  We chose Knockout Masonry upon getting a referal from another contractor who after analysing our needs suggested a more specialized company that deals with masonry.  After meeting with Jimmy in person and hearing his evaluation of the scope of work we wanted, we had no hesitation to sign up with him.  Everything that has been written up about him by other reviewers is totally correct and it is hard to add anything to what already has been said by others.  He impressed us with his knowledge about his trade, his attention to detail and his passion for what he does (this was a very significant reason why we chose Knockout as we wanted somebody who cares to work on our house).  While he is not inexpensive, he is worth every penny in our opinion.  Our scope of work required a total of 3 weeks of his team being on site so we had a chance to evaluate not just him but the team he uses as well. He starts when he says he would (we had to wait for 3 months for our work to begin because he was already booked that far in advace - we initially met in April and started work in June), he is not only on site to supervise his team, but also sends updates that recap the work done to an otherwise busy homeowner and he finishes on time too.  I wanted to highlight the fact that he updated us diligently and fully and it felt very reassuring to know that we are being taken care of and handled with such professionalism. It is clear that he is being sensitive to the needs of the homeowners and works to stay one step ahead of the expectations, so hard to find! The major part of our scope of work (both in time and work) was full restoration/repointing of the brick sides of our 1930s house - he walked us through all the stages, warned us of the noise/mess and logistics associated with it and overall described every detail, it made both us and our neighbors, who had to live with the scaffolding that was errected in our shared driveway, feel very reassured about it.  His crew (we had up to 10 men on site at times) is diligent and hard working and it is obvious Jimmy instills that drive to perform well in them with his leadership. The other parts of the job were done just as well - waterproofing was done so neat and clean that we feel sorry now that it is in the area of the house nobody actually sees, our chimney is no longer in danger of collapsing and the house overall took on a fresh and clean look that brought it into the 21 centery and we are proud to show off their work.  Overall fully satisfied clients who would not hesitate to hire Knockout again, the freedom from any worry that Jimmy gave us is trully priceless to us.

  B & P Chimney Cleaning & Repair

  I was told by 3 different brick pointing companies that my chimney needed total repair and pointing because of a leak inside the house over the window. But these companies did not take a ladder to the roof and examine it. One of them diagnosed my problem through pictures sent via e mail. B and P came over, pulled out the ladder and examined the roof. He found that my gutter was full of debris and that it was holding water. That was causing the leak. While he was up there, I had him cap my chimney and remove an old antenna. He was fair with me and didn't try to take advantage of my ignorance. I really appreciated that.
