    OKEEFE PLUMBING & HEATING INC
Wow!! Two of my radiators were not working, and the heating system was noisy. One of the radiators had been examined by another plumber who could not identify the problem. Tim quickly diagnosed the problems and fixed both. I don't understand all of what he did, but it involved removing an old expansion tank and replacing some other part. He replaced a toilet tank part at no charge. He is knowledgeable, personable, and a complete delight to deal with.

    Freedom Burner Service Inc
Wow. Companies like Freedom are getting rarer and rarer as the days go on. They are truly exceptional. I bought a house and moved in on Memorial Day Weekend, only to find the house had no hot water. Obviously we didn't need the heat, so this was my only indication that something was amiss. With an infant, hot water is important. After trying a few companies that would not come out for a couple days, I was recommended to Freedom Oil. "No problem," they said, and Nelson came a short while later. Apparently the motor seized, and the boiler would not ignite. Nelson showed me everything, and explained to me what to do the next time this happens so I can save on a service call. Nelson got it up and running, checked the oil quality, chatted a bit, and then went on his merry way, with me having hot water. The following week it happened again. I went through Nelson's checklist and for some reason I still couldn't get it running. I called Gwen (VERY pleasant) who then sent over Glen for a service call. Glen further investigated the issue, and discovered a number of disturbing things. For one, the (forgive me for my layman terms) the thing that would ignite the motor was faulty. In addition, the fuel filter was too small for such a big system. Furthermore, after the burner would shut off, the oil still flowed into the combustion chamber (super dangerous). He showed me that certain valves were placed on the wrong sides, and showed how the radiant heating setup was awful. We discussed the different options at-length. We could do a piecemeal replacing parts here and there on a 40 year old boiler, and hope it solves any problem. We could install a new boiler with a water coil inside for hot water, but not as efficient, or we could install the "Cadillac" of boilers with an additional zone of heat to run through a brand new turbo max water heater. Glen never once pushed me, pressured me, tried to convince me, etc. what to do. He laid out the three scenarios and the prices (which are amazing, by the way), and let me decide. I decided on option three. We now have a Biasi boiler, an additional fourth heating zone to heat our new Turbomax water heater, as well as a new adjustable radiant heat manifold. Glen even replaced the lines going into the oil tank! This was a four day job, and we never went a day without having hot water despite swapping boilers. The work Freedom did was like a work of art. You could tell Glen has a real passion about what he does, and doing what's best (and right) for his clients. Nelson is amazing as well, and will explain things to you even if you're having a hard time understanding and he has to explain again and again. This was the first time I dealt with a company in the trades where I was genuinely sad when the work was done and it was time for them to leave. Freedom, Glen, Gwen, and Nelson are just so pleasant, it's like they're family when they're there. Luckily I haven't seen them since the install since everything is working perfectly. I do look forward to working with them in the future for oil deliveries and maintenance! **Pictures were from the work in progress and not the actual finished project

    D C CRANE SVC INC
It was only a few years after we bought our new (very old) house before we started having plumbing issues. Brittle old main drain and flow issues with what turned out to be most likely an original install cesspool older than my wife and I combined. We limped it along for a year or two with all too often expensive pumping before we started looking into replacement of the system. The job was big. It turned out to need the services of both the septic installer and a plumber since we ended up having to re-route and replace the main drain so the new system could be installed in an accessible location (the old is in our small backyard and heavy equipment couldnt get back there). We like on a hill on terraced property and we knew with all the trenching and excavation there was going to be a mess. We hired DC Crane of Bayville (Bob and Lynn Hotine and family) on a recommendation from our cesspool service company and it was the right choice. DC is a family run business and they treat you like their own. They do the work like it was being done on their own property, install what you need and dont sell you what you dont. Bob spent a lot of time explaining everything to my wife who had plenty of questions. They came on the agreed date and everything was done on schedule. They explained the permits you need (and have to pay for yourself) but handled getting them all. The excavation caused a lot of damage to the hill were on theres no way around it having to move heavy equipment up to do the work but the work was done great, on-time and they didnt leave us with a mess to clean up. They spent considerable time when all was done, hooked up and working to grading, backfilling and top soiling the property again. It was ready for new grass to go down. Settling is to be expected but a year and a half later and its been minimal if at all. Essentially removing and replacing the entire waste plumbing and storage system in your house is a huge job. Bob and DC Crane made it stress free. We couldnt be happier with the work, price and customer service they provided. If theyre available and you need work done, make them your first call.

    HELP CESSPOOL SVC
I had the need for "Help! Cesspool and Sewer Service" today on Saint Patricks day. Sean on the phone was very helpful and sent Mike over after Mike had a difficult job prior to coming to our house. Mike could not have been better, he worked his As* off. He wouldn't give up. I thought we had an indicator stick as to the location of the cesspool but apparently it was way off. My wife and I had dug up the ice and snow in preparation but of course it was the wrong spot. I tried to call the Town of Oyster Bay building Dept in an effort to get copies of plans but their computers were down! Our luck. All the while Mike didn't give up. He reasoned to me where and why he was trying different locations and don't you know he sure as **** was right he found it. (Pun Intended). Once located he pointed out a few things and explained how water must be continuing to come in to the cesspool. I checked and the upstairs toilet was leaking all night and i have to change the clapper valve thats broken. The quality of work and the prices are very fair, well worth any dollar at the point we were at. I called to thank them but it was late. Not five minutes after i left the message Sean called right back to say thank you for my thank you! incredible service, I will highly recommend "Help Cesspool and Sewer Service...

    OKEEFE PLUMBING & HEATING INC
We've used Tim O'Keefe several times. First was for a gas emergency that required extensive troubleshooting to identify a gas line leak and replace a large portion of the supply lines. A new water heater was also installed during that visit in 2015. Tim answered the call fast, was very professional and responsive. He and his crew do excellent work and their fees are reasonable. They respond to calls and show up when they say they will. We were happy enough with the work they did to hire him again in 2016 for extensive main waste line replacement in conjunction with a new septic project. His team's work included through-foundation plumbing, excavation and replacement of a large portion of the lines inside the house. Again, the work was done professionally, on-time and dependably. I have no reason to consider any other plumbers in our area and would recommend him highly.

    PAPIRO LANDSCAPING INC
We called a few local landscaping companies including Papiro Landscaping, Inc. Papiro was by far the most professional, attentive and friendly company we met with. We hired them to fix our wall (rather than replacing it since settling was still likely to occur), sod the whole area, install proper drainage from our gutters underground and do some plantings in the front. The work came out wonderfully. They coordinated with our sprinkler company that installed some new heads to ensure the area was adequately covered, and did excellent work overall. Though we were warned it would be difficult to repair and match the wall, it came out looking better than it did before. We're very happy with the work and our interactions with them. I'd recommend them for any work and fully intend to call them again when we're ready for our next outdoor project.

my boiler was acting up on a saturday morning and I knew cold weather was on its way. i reached out to okeefe plumbing. the operator was helpful and courteous. she took detailed info and assured me someone would reach out to me shortly. within 30 minutes, I got a call from Tim. he gathered information by asking me for model # and pictures of the unit so he could come properly equipped. he gave an estimated time of arrival and was prompt. he diagnosed the problem within 15 minutes and was very frank about the cost, which i appreciated. gave me an estimate of how long the job would take and was true to his word. had everything working withing 90 minutes. he took the time to explain to me what he fixed, what he thought was inefficient about the current setup and how he would fix it if i chose to do so. he also gave me an upfront quote on that work. the following day, i had another unrelated issue and he was receptive to my texts and called me to walk me through some steps. he ended up fixing it over the phone. i really appreciated the prompt and professional work. Tim was very knowledgeable and willing to help when he could. i would definitely use him for any future work.
