    Luis Calderon
He and his team were wonderful. We added on several other jobs and he did everything I needed. He did a big repair in the attic/ceiling . I found out that he is skilled in almost anything that you need. Luis is professional and very easy to work with. I felt very comfortable with him in my home.

    Mr SOS
I had a wonderful experience with Mr. SOS. The person who did the work did a fantastic job, was extremely friendly, and is a true professional and extremely experienced in his field of work. The sales rep was very reliable, answered all of my questions and ensured everything was done in a timely manner. I would rate them an A - excellent - on all of the above, hands down. I really don't have any comments for improvement - my experience was outstanding and I will certainly call again in the future.

Update: I have since had them come back and paint  my master bedroom over. Not only was it cheap, but finished in one day (which was unexpected) and done beautifully. Thanks again!!

    Lazer Contracting
I have been using Lazer contracting for over 10 years. When I bought my house in 2004, not only did Mike, the Owner, perform an initial inspection on my house before I bought it, he has worked on several phases on my house since then. I can say that his work is second to none. The quality and workmanship is the best I've seen from any contractor, and he is fair in his price. It started with my roof. Then my windows and siding. Few years after that, he completely renovated my basement to a living and play area.

When ever I have needed Mike to do the job, he was there, and the best part, he does the job right the first time. and because it is quality work, you never have to worry about it down the road. If you want the best there is, Lazer Contracting is the way to go. If you want second rate work done, go on to the next guy, who will charge you more and do less. I highly recommend Lazer Contracting for any work you need done to your home.

    Jerry's Handymen
Jerry's crew were very professional and courteous. Jerry recommended alternative railing components which were of better quality at the same or lesser cost. His crew showed up as scheduled everyday and Jerry was excellent at keeping us informed of when his workers would come. Everything was done very professionally and they cleaned up all debris. Another important plus, Jerry is very good about returning phone calls!

    Handyman Express
Jamie came recommended via family to build our new deck. He came and quoted us at approximately $19,000 to demo the existing wooden deck and replace with a Trex deck. I was told that the job would take a maximum of 2 weeks. After he tore down the existing deck, I was advised that there was a gas line on top of an old concrete stoop that needs to be moved and to move it, they would have to jackhammer out the stoop. That added more money to the job. After the first few days, the crew showed up sporadically. It took approximately 6 weeks and $30,000 to finish the deck. Jamie told me the delays came out of him having other jobs he needed to work on. I kept having to pay them in cash as he would not accept a check. The deck did come out amazing. It just cost a lot more than I expected and took a longer time.
Last week, I contacted Jamie again because I have a small scuff on one of the railings and a tiny nick in one of the boards. The estimate he gave me to fix was $1,500. Another company told me they could do it but would feel bad because they would have to charge $500.

    Mr. Handyman of Nassau County
The company was very professional in setting up appointment, showing up on time, and working with the customer. The handyman assigned was terrific--thoughtful, communicated well with me, made suggestions for fixes or alternative solutions. He was extremely cordial, great personality and clearly competent.

There has been no better example for me of the adage, you get what you pay for: $99 for 3 hours of a handyman.  The most frustrating experience had to be with the management and less to do with the work. Conservatively I will estimate that there were 5 appointments that were not met/stuck to. The first appointment was to be on a Thursday at 9AM. I took off from work and when I did not hear from anyone by 10AM, I called Sal who had to make some calls and determined that the worker he was to send had a family emergency, as his daughter went to the hospital.  Due to this situation, he was not going to make it. Things like this happen. But it is the many attempts to reschedule and subsequent appointments not shown up for and excuses ("we could not send anyone because of the rainy weather, they could not work" (BTW, all the work was to be done inside) or miscommunication ("Oh, you didn't get my email', which was used 2x and NO, I did not get the email) or just some general incompetence ("you are my first appointment, they will be there by 9" and when i called at 10, I was told they would be picking up the truck at 11 and then coming to me") . The most recent excuse prior to today was that he wanted to get some people who really specialized in wood work and all he could get were painters. The reason I bring this up is that the two gentlemen who showed up this AM, expected to be painting and while the job they did was better than I would have but barely adequate, they did not have a special skill in this area. The baseboard was done poorly with some gaps and some corners missing. They also left a number of nails lying around which can be a hazard with a curious dog. To be fair, to make up for some of the missed appointments (there were days I would wait and leave a message and then just leave after waiting for 3 hours) Sal did send 2 people to do the work when the coupon I had bought through Angie's list only called for 1 person. They seemed like nice people and did a better job than I could have, but the overall experience was frustrating and would lead me to STRONGLY NOT RECOMMEND them for ANYTHING in the future.

    Mr. Handyman of Nassau County
There is a 2 hour minimum & as with any house, there are multiple little jobs that I ask to get done at the time of the visit.  The company is licensed and insured  and has a track record. They are also part of a national franchise.   The rogue handymen out there may be cheaper, but it's a huge gamble letting those guys in your house.  Mr. Handyman comes in a marked truck, with tools, and the workers are uniformed and professional.  Robert, the handyman, came on time, was efficient and knowledgeable.

    iPaint and Contract, Inc.
I had a ball park start date, but Nick was able to schedule me a week early for powerwash. Over the next five days, his guys did the sanding, scraping and prep work including removal and filling of some rotted areas in the woodwork before beginning the painting. Everything is perfect. As a single woman with small children, I always appreciate Nick's staff who are polite, professional, clean and trustworthy. When they're on site, I have no qualms about leaving them the key so that they can access the facilities, and if the kids get home before I do, I know they're safe.
