    Baughman's Magic Seal
I contacted Baughman's last year to grind put new asphalt on the driveway to repair and even it out. They couldn't fit me into their schedule during the summer and finally one day in November I think it was they called and said they could do the driveway then. I did some reading on asphalt and I know that asphalt should not be put down when it is cold and rainy out or it is much more likely to fail. Well, they called today wanting to do the driveway. This is only our second nice day after lots of rain and late snow and I hear we may get another major chill this weekend. They don't guarantee their work, so if they did a crummy job because I approved the job in the wrong conditions, it would just be too bad for me. I am very disappointed. I wanted to like them - I wanted to think that they do this because they are experts in the field and not just to get as much money from as many people as they can. For me, wanting to do the job at a time when failure is likely is very unprofessional and tells me that they have no pride in workmanship or longevity.

    CAPOZZI PAVING
It took several more days than expected. Some of the work was done when it was dark. They dug up and destroyed a sprinkler head. The lawn was torn up and they claimed they couldnt fix it. They miscalculated on the size of the truck that would work on our cul de sac. That caused several days of delays. When a copy of the original work was made it was done by hand rather than using a printer. As a result they paved a large section that we had not contracted for. Luckily, they never noticed and didnt expect us to pay anything extra.

    REYNOLDS LAWN CARE
The plowing was done each time as stated in the contract.  I wanted the plowing when it was blown in too but I didn't specify that in the contract.  However, they would do it for me if I called and they would tell me the fee in advance.

If you don't know about snow plowing contracts make sure to talk about what you want because snowing 3" is in the contract but the blowing snow is not in the contract.

    Precision Door Service
The rep was punctual and friendly and cleaned up everything.
All seemed to go fine but there was such an effort for an upsell that I felt like something will happen to my perfectly fine garage door in the near future.  The rep was helpful but tried to talk me into replacing springs and all kinds of things on my door that I do not believe were really a problem (at least they were not a problem before he touched the door).   Everything would have been great but I just get my back up when I hire a contractor for one job and then it becomes a lot more.  I understand that happens some times but I don't feel like it was warranted here.

    Vincent's Handyman Service
Vincent and his son showed up on time and prepared to complete the work.  They worked quickly and efficiently.  In addition, to doing to quality work and meeting my expectations; they left the work area as it was before they arrived - clean.  My overall impression is that they take pride in their work and leave no detail out.
My only complaint is of other angie's list members.  Like many contractors who don't sub out work, understand that they book work as it comes in, so don't expect them to drop jobs just to suite your 24 hour demands.

    Precision Door Service
We just purchased the house and, during inspection, we noted that the garage door opener had no floor sensors and was quite old. We scheduled to have a quote done for a new opener, also planning to have them look at the rollers, etc. They were scheduled to show up between 1PM and 5PM. They called at 1230PM and said they would arrive at 1PM. They were right on time. They quickly assessed the situation with our garage. Several options were available for the opener, all costing within the ball park of my expectations. After I asked them to examine the rollers and so forth, Ryan pointed out the wear and tear and I asked what options they had. At no point did I feel like he was pushy. I ended up going with their "rebuild" package which replaced the rollers, cables, springs, and some other hardware. The opener was roughly $600 and the "rebuild" was roughly $700, which included all parts and labor. The work took them about 3 hours. They worked quickly and clearly were experienced. They were very friendly and polite. I would highly recommend this company for garage door work.

    TULUMELLO CONCRETE CONSTR LLC

Charlie Tulumello responded and came to our house the same day we called. One of the contractors from Angieslist (who lives just a couple blocks from us) cancelled twice so lost the bid.

We had to wait a few weeks for their availability and good weather (call ASAP early in the season and expect service after a few weeks), but the 5 man crew was all business. The crew had about 200 years experience between them (really- the 'kid' was in his 40s and 2 of the guys were very fit right-off-the-boat from Italy 70+ year olds). About 20 minutes before the cement truck came they got really energetic like hunters preparing for the kill!

The mini tractor that brought the cement into the back yard from the truck was damaging to surrounding flowers and shrubs- mask with plastic sheeting and masking tape your flowers, lawn, house, and anything adjacent to the work area you want to keep nice.

The 'dust' he threw on the cement to impart the secondary color was a huge mess that rose above the house like a cloud (close all windows, etc)

The price was about $1,000-$1,500 less than relaying our existing unilock pavers or replacing the pavers with new. When we were quoted the price, included was removal of the pavers by Tulumello (which we ended up selling on craigslist and having 'removed' for free before Tulumello arrived). Since Tulumello didn't need to remove the old, maybe we should have gotten a price break. (Removal was a huge job for the people who bought the pavers and would have been for Tulumello, too!)

In the end, we are very happy with our new patio! My wife agonized over which color (Charlie plays it conservative on colors he advises and applies, which is wise, I think). When trying to choose color from their website, it was hard to discuss with him which colors we liked from the website because the samples were not numbered. My wife at first thought we got a different color than what she thought she wanted, but I think she likes now what we ended up with.

Charlie came back after a few days and spray coated the patio and touched up places we scratched with our patio chairs. He also brought us a bottle of his home made Cabernet which we still are looking forward to enjoying.

FYI the photo of the finished patio was done after rain, so the big blotch is just the first spot to dry.

    Ortner's Overhead Door
We had a crack in one of the door panel and one of the clamps was bent.
We got a reference to Ortner's from my neighbor and the person who came
was very nice, polite and explained the problems. He fixed the clamps,
fixed the panel with a support bar, all was done in less than 30 mins
and cost (material+labor) was about 120. A great deal!

    Kfouri Concrete LLC
Work was done by owner and one helper both of whom arrived on the day and time specified.  Work was done completely and professionally and cleanup was thorough.  Overall rating of B, rather than A, is due to fact that contract was signed in August with work to be done in October but due to a variety of circumstances, some weather related, work was not completed until early December.   Estimates were obtained from 3 companies and price for this work appears to be fair.  This company was hired largely because during estimate process  Mr. Kfouri seemed to understand what I wanted done , explained how he would do it and did not push anything extra.

    Ortner's Overhead Door
They came the same day that I called them to fix the door. There were a couple things that were incorrect in how the door had been installed by a previous company and he quickly found the problems and corrected them. The person who came out was very professional and did a great job.
