    Sunset Roofing LLC
Terrific. The quality of the work is excellent and issues with the old roof were thoroughly explained. Danny and Roman were meticulous in their work and looked after every detail including cleaning any debris out of the gutters and repairing flashings on our chimneys even though that was not requested in the contract.

Jason and his crew were among the most professional that I have ever experienced working with. Jason was knowledgable, caring, friendly and extremely easy to talk to. He had no problem answering even the silliest of questions that I had. His crew leader Rick was of amazing talent. And also just so pleasant to work with. Jason and his crew worked in my home for about 4 months. And I gotta say now that they are done My wife and i miss the company. lol excellent job Explicit Exteriors. Thanks again

All details concerning the scope of the job and estimate were done within 2 days. Team showed up on time everyday and completed the entire job in 3 days. They were polite and neat, all debris was hauled away and yard area was raked upon completion of the job. I would happily recommend this company to anyone in my area.

    Serrano II, Inc.
Outstanding. Ovid Figueroa came on a Sunday to discuss the work. This was convenient because both customers work full time and have a difficult time getting time off during the work week. Also, the work involved a change from rubberized roofing on part of the roof to all shingles. This saved us $ 2,000. In addition, because of this change, I wanted to select a different color for the shingles, and Serrano was able to make this change quickly. There was some damaged old plywood on the roof, found near the skylight and elsewhere. Serrano II charged extra for this unanticipated work, but the charge for materials and labor was reasonable, $ 585. Serrano II cleaned the scraps up, so the grounds looked neat.

Site inspected & measured, quote given in writing & in person. Deposit given, installation date set. Arrived on scheduled day & time in clean truck. Floor in bathroom protected before beginning work, job completed within 2 hours. Complete & thorough cleanup, not a speck of construction work anywhere. Very polite, knowledgeable & professional.

The crew came when they told us they would be here, they worked diligently all day and completed the project in an appropriate time period considering the weather and materials supplier.  Great service.

We are completely satisfied with the quality of the finished work - even more we are delighted with the quality of the fit & finish of the work. The structural work was the responsibility of an architect who was also satisfied with the quality of the work. Renovation of one bathroom was done to a very exacting schedule - an upcoming wedding - and Povero met the deadline.

The work was done more or less on time - all the agreed on deadlines were met (which included a wedding) and were done in highest quality in finishing. My only regret on the project was that, on the architect's advice, this contractor did not do the interior finish work on the addition: his finish work was much finer than the general contractor's work who was more concerned - understandably - with the reinforcing bars in the 11' retaining walls he was responsible for. My only warning to anyone considering this contractor: when he did the work for us he was very much in demand - therefore book this contractor well in advance. I had no complaints at all with the work or workmen - the only complaint on the whole project was the neighbor who complained to the sheriff that one of the carpenters on the job was singing along with his Ipad while doing boring work e.g. hanging wall board and taping joints. The deputy was stumped about what to do about the complaint but decided as the carpenter was only singing during normal working ours he would take no action. (I did agree that the carpenter couldnt carry a tune in a covered basket.) While on another job bettween the stages of our project, the carpenter's Ipad was stolen, so I gave him another Ipad. There were several instances when the work was held up awaiting materials and some material that was delivered was unsatisfactory and required replacement. Therefore a strongly urge anyone considering a renovation project to allow for unanticpated delays caused by damaged materials.

First: the time critical portions of the project were done as promised. Next: the quality of the work is OUTSTANDING! The fit and finish are superb - doors, windows, flooring and all. The only repair needed was a leaking sink: The sink was not installed by Povero but by the granite counter top provider who insisted that only his installers knew how to install a sink in granite. (One sink installed in granite supplied by another provider was put in by Povero and has never leaked a drop) One do: Povero is quite in demand so you have to allow sufficient lead time to get on his list. The only recurring problem was obtaining materials: The first two shower enclosures were damaged - one in shipping or handling and the other in production. When it came time to do the 2nd shower, Ed instisted that we select an enclosure on hand rather than ordering an enclosure. Although this limited our selections, it did work and we had the shower in time. Biggest problem was light fixtures: On the archichtest's recommendation, we acqulred plumbing and light fixtures ourselves - therefore there could be no criticism of the contractors' choices. However, the exterior lighting fixtures for the exterior stairs were a problem: although the vendor insisted they ahd sufficient quantity on hand to fill our order, they lied! the order was only partially shipped and after a considerable delaly, the vendor admitted that they could not complete the order ever. We did eventually obtain a complementary fixture, but in the mean time Ed had finished all the other work he had to do on our project; he did later return to install the fixtures; there was also the same sort of problem with metal balisters for the stair rails; Ed had to return to install them. IMHO this is an aritfact of globalization of supply i.e. you get what ever the Chinese put on the ship and it gets here whenever it gets here in whatever condition it gets here. There are interesting ironies: no problem getting exactly the Italian marble we want when we want it but light fixtures you get what you get when you get it. Moral here: Order very early. Local vendors: we started with Home Depot but switched to Leows and were quite pleased with Loew's service. No secret that the person selling you a box of nails is working hourly, but the big ticket items people sell on commission. We found that the Home Depot salesperson was only interested in the initial sale and wouldn't talk to us when there was a billing problem aka sleazy sales practice while the Leows people went to bat with us with the suppliers to get the problem resolved, even calling the manufacturer to find that no matter what the manufacturer's catalog said, the item was no longer made. What I can't say is whether this is a systemic problem or simply the stores we were dealing with. The final do: I would use North Coast aka Povero any time and would recommend with only one reservation: Plan ahead!
