    DAVID SVANCAR Have you ever felt that stabbing dread of looking for a new contractor due to the sudden urge of adrenaline coursing through your veins - your body's way of preparing for the possible outcome of an extremely tardy delivered and appalling workmanship of an apartment renovation? Well, NOT with DAVID SVANCAR of CONNECTION AND CONTRACTING. Upon countless of interviewed contractors, I stumbled on Connection and Contracting (David Svancar). After he came over to assess the complete renovation I wanted to be performed on one of our floors, all of my nerves seemed to subside, as you can immediately tell, David is not one of those "shady" Contractors. He entered the property, assessed our situation and immediately provided multiple suggestions, a game plan, and told me this project could be done within the time I proposed of 4-6 weeks (pending the arrival of appliances, kitchen cabinets etc...). Previously, other contractors I interviewed were taken a-back when I proposed the 4-6 week aggressive timeline. Some even suggested that they would “squeeze in my project” with other projects. I reject that idea for many reasons. David, on the other hand, reiterated to me many times before and after the start of the project that he will never work on multiple clients at once but only focuses one project at a time to ensure the quality, care/attention and timeliness the project deserves. Additionally, his utmost professional behavior is coupled by the reassurance of his humor, attention to detail, identifying problems and suggesting multiple solutions. DAVID took initiative to enlighten me of ALL the possible ideas to make the infrastructure and aesthetic of my new apartment look amazing. His team would always arrive at the proposed time of 8am-4pm (Monday – Saturday). He and his team worked tirelessly on making sure the project made my family and me HAPPY. I genuinely felt that he was looking out for my best interest and that is all that really matters - an act of Altruism that is easy by definition, but difficult to execute. At the finalization of the project, David met the 4-6 week deliverable (despite the holidays of Christmas and New Years) and provided excellent quality work!! I really hope that you choose DAVID SVANCAR to help guide you in your next choice of renovation. You won’t regret it! I'm already in the works with David for other house projects!

    I had a horrible water damage in my basement that destroyed absolutely everything down there from my entire family's childhood. Brad came in, did his assessment of the damage and his crew took care of all the clean up in a timely manner; while also making sure to check in with my family and I to insure that we were pleased with the work being done all along the way i was very please with the work

    There were 4 area rugs that were totally wet. They informed me that they did not have the equipment to dry them out here so the only option was for them to take the rugs to their facility to dry and clean them. That part of the service cost $399 which could have been avoided if they had the proper equipment to dry the rugs here. They left a dehumidifier and blower for 3 days and that cost $839. The remainder of the fee $250 was to remove a baseboard and clean up. With tax the total was $1,618.00 which I thought was very expensive. Another problem came when I scheduled to have the rugs returned. I was given a 2-hour window (10-12) on Thursday April 13. By 1:30 no one showed up or called so I called them. The person in the office told me he would check and get back to me. By 3:30 no one showed up or called me back so I called them again. I was informed that the rugs had been delivered, however for some reason, they knocked on my door rather than ringing the bell but we didn't hear the knock. They left the rugs in the driveway outside my garage door. I think they should have at least called at that point to let me know that the rugs were in fact delivered. When we took the rugs inside we realized that the non-skid padding was missing from two of the rugs. Overall not a good experience.

    On this last of 4 paint jobs that this firm has done for me over several years, Eli came and helped Lupe, his principal workman, move furniture, and also move it back when the job was finished. In addition, they lifted and reinstalled 2 very heavy art items to the walls as well. He gave instructions and went over my requirements for the job. Lupe was on time and efficient and courteous to me throughout, assuring my satisfaction. He worked well and diligently over 2 whole working days to complete this last job. It is likely that when my needs call for painting or repair in my home, with a licensed contractor, I will call on Eli's Painting & Renovations again, as well as recommend him highly. 

    The paint job was expert, with not a splotch of paint awry anywhere, and beautiful results were evident. In every room, of a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condominium. We did do the jobs piecemeal, as it is necessary to remove breakables and items that could drop or be damaged before furniture gets moved. And such moving is difficult and needs to be done to minimize living disruption in the home. No damages to any of my property by the firm. Very professional. 

    The living room, dining room, entry way were done in this last job. Several colors were used, per my own choice. The only thing that might put off some consumers might be the price, as it is a bit high end, BUT you always get what you pay for, and this firm as I said does excellent work overall. Lupe worked on all of my job over 14 hours of work time, so the price was reasonable actually in this case.

    N. Barlow Construction, LLC was highly recommended by a good friend of mine who had bathroom work done by Narry and his employees ( Brandon, Troy, Chris, Matthew and Ravi). Narry is a complete professional - honest, patient, knowledgeable, a problem solver, highly skilled and takes pride in his craft. As an Art Director, I could rely on Narry's advice & expertise when needing an opinion in regards to visualizing & picking out proper materials that best suit the overall modern design of the kitchen. As in all renovations, there were several instances where problems arose due to the outdated build of my kitchen. Narry came up with timely solutions that did not compromise nor sacrifice the overall look that I wanted. The employees of N. Barlow Construction work hard and diligently to get the job done correctly and immediately brought to my attention when they saw potential problems that might occur. Narry always checks on his workers to make sure they are doing the job properly and carry out the plans we envisioned. Communication was smooth & effortless. I could text when I had an idea or question to ask. Narry did a great job in texting different floor tile options, counter tops, backsplash tiles and overall process of the remodeling when I was at work to ensure the correct process. I will eventually need more remodeling done to my place and I'll definitely call N. Barlow Construction LLC, to get the job done. Narry & his employees made the vision that I had for a modern, updated kitchen become a reality! Just as my friend did for me, I highly recommend them to whoever needs a remodeled kitchen.

    Dennis was great. Let me tell you, for his level of high professionalism, his prices are a bargain. He was professional, courteous, and he has equally professional people working on his team. His bills are very detailed and include floor plans. Dennis also advised me with regards to getting insurance involved. In the end, it was less expensive than I anticipated, so it wasn't worth getting insurance involved. I ended up paying out of pocket but at least the premium won't go up. Once the repairs were done by a plumber, a friend helped me put up all the drywall by myself (a simple enough DIY project) to save money - that was the only reason I didn't re-use his service.

    I had Nunez Construction totally renovate my apartment almost 3 years ago, 6 rooms with a total gutting of kitchen and bathroom. The work took 6 weeks and I was stunned and delighted with the results, and still am! A few weeks ago the tenant above me had a toilet overflow which ruined my pantry ceiling and wall and I also noticed that due to slight shifting of the building, there were slight cracks in the moldings and certain walls, so I called Efren Nunez and once again, he came to my rescue! His crew, especially Erick and Pavel are as professional and caring as Efren, they spent 3 days at the apartment and not only did they go over everything that I asked them to, they found things to fix that I didn't even notice needed attention. While they were there I had a serious door emergency and without any hesitation, they attacked that problem and fixed it. Most contractors only like the big jobs, where there is big money, but Efren Nunez and company will always be there for you, no matter what, they proved that to me with their current care and attention. I cannot stress how much this company has done for me, I urge anyone looking for any kind of construction, renovation, painting, masonry, etc., to give Nunez Construction a try, you will not be disappointed! THANK YOU EFREN FOR EVERYTHING!!!!

    We contacted C&G Restorations after we had a flood in our basement. We chose C&G because of the good reviews they had on Angie's List. Guy Reed got back to us within a few hours of our initial call and met with our property manager the next day. As I live out of state Guy sent my estimates via email and got things rolling as soon as possible so that we could remove the moisture and debris left by the flood quickly and make the basement usable again for the tenants. The work started two days after my initial contact. Guy was extremely responsive and communicated all that he was going to do, via phone calls and emails as well. He sent pictures of the before and after so that we could see the progress and even sent pictures of the moisture readings. The manager of the property said that the work went extremely well. The process took about five days and Guy had to come back to make sure the fans were working on the weekend. Guy's crew came and did the cleanup, removed the flood debris, some flooded sheetrock, and some flooring. They disinfected the the full basement and they ran fans and dehumidifiers for several days to remove all the excess moisture. Guy also found that he had to remove another closet floor that had gotten soaked that he had missed in his initial review. This was done at no additional cost. Guy followed up with a report of all the work that was done so we have a record and he even had suggestions as to how to do the follow up repairs and how to help avoid some problems in the future. I am so glad we found C&G Restorations to do the work.

    Rick and his team did an amazing job. The walls were smoothed and cracks taped and filled; wallpaper removed; doors painted; bathtub area re-grouted; and then the entire apartment primed and painted at least 2 times with the finish color. They were efficient, neat and friendly. The place looks like new and I've decided to try them out on the wrought iron fencing in the front and back as well as the sofitt and front entrance.

    Jordan and his Emergency Fire Services team went above and beyond in helping go through the entire process of dealing with a house fire.  My 87-year-old father's house burned down in April of 2015 and I soon after hired Emergency Fire Services to clean out the house and secure it from incurring further damage.  Jordan and his team worked so quickly and were so helpful I hired them to do the rebuild of the home, which too started ahead of schedule. 

    Throughout the process I leaned heavily on Jordan to educate me as much as possible in issues related to the insurance claim process, support services that provide temporary housing, the pros and cons of hiring a public adjuster, and so on.  Jordan was always responsive, always on top of things, and if a few days passed and we hadn't spoken, he would reach out to me just to update me.

    It took eight months from start to finish, but Jordan and his team rebuilt my father's home from the frame up.  Everything was done to scope and code and there was never a hiccup from a permit standpoint.  Wherever I could amend a few things, Jordan was accommodating to the fullest extent possible.

    Overall, I feel lucky.  No one was hurt in the fire.  I had no idea what I was doing but I lucked out in meeting Jordan and EFS, felt I could trust them, and they ended up doing right by me 100%  My dad is back home now and relaxed.
