DAVID SVANCAR Have you ever felt that stabbing dread of looking for a new contractor due to the sudden urge of adrenaline coursing through your veins - your body's way of preparing for the possible outcome of an extremely tardy delivered and appalling workmanship of an apartment renovation? Well, NOT with DAVID SVANCAR of CONNECTION AND CONTRACTING. Upon countless of interviewed contractors, I stumbled on Connection and Contracting (David Svancar). After he came over to assess the complete renovation I wanted to be performed on one of our floors, all of my nerves seemed to subside, as you can immediately tell, David is not one of those "shady" Contractors. He entered the property, assessed our situation and immediately provided multiple suggestions, a game plan, and told me this project could be done within the time I proposed of 4-6 weeks (pending the arrival of appliances, kitchen cabinets etc...). Previously, other contractors I interviewed were taken a-back when I proposed the 4-6 week aggressive timeline. Some even suggested that they would “squeeze in my project” with other projects. I reject that idea for many reasons. David, on the other hand, reiterated to me many times before and after the start of the project that he will never work on multiple clients at once but only focuses one project at a time to ensure the quality, care/attention and timeliness the project deserves. Additionally, his utmost professional behavior is coupled by the reassurance of his humor, attention to detail, identifying problems and suggesting multiple solutions. DAVID took initiative to enlighten me of ALL the possible ideas to make the infrastructure and aesthetic of my new apartment look amazing. His team would always arrive at the proposed time of 8am-4pm (Monday – Saturday). He and his team worked tirelessly on making sure the project made my family and me HAPPY. I genuinely felt that he was looking out for my best interest and that is all that really matters - an act of Altruism that is easy by definition, but difficult to execute. At the finalization of the project, David met the 4-6 week deliverable (despite the holidays of Christmas and New Years) and provided excellent quality work!! I really hope that you choose DAVID SVANCAR to help guide you in your next choice of renovation. You won’t regret it! I'm already in the works with David for other house projects!

Daniel did a great job, as usual.  This was my third experience with him and he never disappoints.  He takes pride in his work and will not consider a job done until it meets his standards, which are high.  He is punctual, respectful, and honest.  He does great work and I would not hesitate to recommend him.

The add said we would get 5%off for being Angie's List members, he said that was on material only. Not on labor or service, feels like it was misleading from the add in the publication.  They do great work.  I have used them before.

Mark and his colleague did a great job. Mark is a real professional and a pleasure to do business with. His price was fair, his communication was clear, he was neat, courteous, and thorough. Already planning my next project for him!

They were running late on a previous job so the work got started a day late but that was not a problem. Everything went fine and the work was completed timely and to my satisfaction. The wallpaper looks great on the walls and it all matches up. I got a beautiful receipt that I printed out for future use.

All Star was incredible. The work was for a coop so they were great about staying on top of the paperwork. They squeezed us in when our schedule wasn't very cooperative. The work was flawless. I can't say enough nice things about Danny and his team. They work clean. They work hard and they leave beautiful work behind. We had A LOT of trouble finding a good wallpaper hanger (we even had problems with some of the higher rated people here) but AllStar came through for us. Also, they're all very nice, which doesn't matter in terms of work, but makes for a pleasant experience. Our first wallpaper hanger didn't work out, but I'm glad it led us to discovering AllStar.

Went very well, 2 workers on day one & two worked tirelessly and neatly. James & Danny both checked in every day to assure quality. Day 3 two workers and both James & Danny  worked together to get job done on day 3. Wallpaper came out very good and I will use them again in the near future for the living room.

Today, as usual, everything went just perfectly.     The room looks neat and beautiful and the trim on the house is done to perfection.   Richie came on time, immediately got started on the job, and all went well, as usual.

We had old wallpaper on our main bathroom walls that was coming off in places and needed to be replaced. To save money, we decided to remove the old (strippable) wallpaper ourselves. This took us(my wife and myself) about 5 hours. When Steve Romenelli showed up, he told us it would take 10-14 hours to skim coat and plaster the walls to accept the new paper(which he felt was rather thin) and to paste up the new paper (he uses his own mixture of paste). The work done over two days. There are difficult places to fit paper in the bathroom, small inserts for cups, etc. and Steve expertly fitted paper around these "obstacles." When the job was finished Steve cleaned up everything and left at 9:30pm. The work was satisfactory in every way!

As a landlord with many properties in Syracuse, Marty has done a lot of work for me over the years, and I have seen the work before, during and after it was done so I know what he is capable of. He could be a general contractor, due to his skills and knowledge, and just oversee all of the work, but for the most part he does a lot of the work himself. He has had a tough life and gone to the school of hard knocks, otherwise he'd probably be a wealthy contractor by now. Underneath his rough exterior, he is a solid guy who loves his daughters, and I consider him a friend now even though I don't need to use him as a contractor much anymore. In general his prices are very very reasonable considering the quality of his work and his ethics in an industry that lacks these qualities, so I would try to let him make a little money so he can continue in the industry and treat him right if he does a good job for you. You do need to keep tabs on him like any other contractor, make sure the work is being done the schedule you need it done (don't let him do other projects at the same time), and use common sense (pay him as the work is done and not all up front), but my sense is he has a good sense of responsibility and ethics and you will be happy with his work as long as you keep on top of him to make sure it gets done on a reasonable schedule.
