Roof Cleaning reviews in Flushing

Vincent the owner and Vincent his assistant did an excellent job. They came promptly and did the jobs on hot days, they cleaned up after themselves and in another place where they were not even working. They are also very polite. In addition to the gutter job on Angie's List we hired them to do chimney work and they did great work and sent us pictures of everything. Reliable and honest work. I do not know how the price compares with others but it sounded reasonable. Not cheap but reasonable.

Discovered a problem when painting the living room, there
was a patch of crumbling drywall.  A
friend who works construction told me I needed repointing work done as rain/moisture was most likely coming in through the exterior wall.  Maxon were about half the price of the other
3 companies I contacted.   Mumtaz came on
time and gave us an accurate estimate and schedule for how long the work would
take.   Initially the work was going to
be just repointing a three storey wall, and applying a coat of sealant (and
    recaulking the windows).   However,
Mumtaz spotted some additional problems with the roof (one of which I had known
about myself and had patched up temporarily?so I knew he wasn?t inventing
problems), and advised getting those fixed too.
I have a flat roof, and the previous roofer had only applied rubber
cement to the short vertical walls along the side of the roof (i.e., he hadn?t
put in any roofing material).  The cement
had started to split in places.  The
previous roofer had also not applied the chemical that turns the roof shiny and
grey (I forget what it?s called, but you see it on most flat roofs).   Mumtaz took care of all of this, and also
replaced the drain from the roof, which was leaking onto the brickwork.   All of that for $5800 is a bargain,
especially given the other prices we were being quoted.
He also removed some graffiti from
the side of the house before applying the sealant, and his guys repointed the
stoop that abuts the wall they were working on.
I held off redoing the plaster in my living room so that I could see the problem had been
fixed once we got some heavy rain.  The problem has been fixed, and I?m very happy with the work.
Mumtaz?s guys cleaned up after themselves quite thoroughly every day when they finished
    work.  Nice guys too.
If you plan on hiring Maxon (and I recommend them), just be aware that cash payment is
preferred, and partial payment is desired after the first day?s work (at least
it was in my case). I wasn?t aware of either of these points going into the
project, but luckily the bank was still open when I found out!

Excellent crew. Showed up when they were supposed to. Hardworking. Nice guys -- they understand English, although mostly of Mexican origin probably. Above being nice, they are very competent and work well together. Also, they respected that my neighbors driveway had to be cleared of nails, and every night they swept it-- broom clean. My neighbors never complained.

Paul Whigham, who managed my job, was highly responsive. He listened to my concerns throughout the job. He answered all of my cell phone calls within 5 minutes, even once while standing on a roof.

Paul has a good eye for detail around a home and was able to zone right in on problems I did not even see. The job expanded, but in retrospect I am glad we did what we did. First, he told me that better to redo the roof, if I'm going to do the siding. That really did make sense. Also he noticed the chimney was slanting away from the house, so he took it down and waterproofed it and rebuilt it. Another thing is that we did not know what was below the siding, so Paul advised us to rip down all the old beaver board which was shredding. We also ended up redoing all of the windows that bordered on the siding as Paul felt that would be best to not have any leaks.

Paul  uses very good products -- the siding and the roofing products have very long warranties. The company delivered everything on a timely basis. Also, Paul's office person is very good about sending the paperwork for the warranties. Also, I did want to mention that John Whigham Inc is a certified installer for the product, which makes the warranties good.

If you are looking for someone, I would advise you to use Paul, (who is John Whigham's brother) but try to get into the "what ifs" up front. So, if you are doing the siding, before he pulls it down, try to get a price on the rip of the old insulation if that becomes necessary. Also, ask him to oversee the job as a whole up front so you know what you are getting into before a nail is pulled. Again, let me stress, I don't think he led me to do anything that I did not need to do, it's just that he wants to do the job right and so do you, so get a better idea of the costs up front. Also, if he sends out the sales person, that's fine to get a rough estimate, but don't sign anything until Paul sees the job. Paul will be the day to day manager, so don't sign anything until he sees it.

Paul is very reliable, and, actually is a very good salesman. He may come off as aggressive, which could put you off, but I do, in retrospect believe that it comes from a sincerity that he will do the job right. And he did do the job right. It was money well spent. And the house looks great!

Mohamed was just great -- friendly, professional and hard-working.  Couldn't really have asked for a much better result.  He went the extra yard and then some.  Has some of the most sophisticated equipment I've ever seen among power washers.  10 out of 10!

They were so quick and so efficient! They were polite, respectful and cleaned up very nicely. I get so many compliments on my home now. The owner Joe would always return my calls promptly and everyone on staff was very professional and respectful. I would HIGHLY  recommend them. It is very difficult today to find responsible companies. I was so glad to find Roosevelt, Joe and his crew! It was a score!

I was impressed with this vendor from the first time I met him about 4 years ago.  He has been retained on numerous occasions with the largest job being installation of our new roofing which was completed in September of 2010.  He now comes back for roof maintenance.  Everything is left spotless and the workmen are so accomodating and polite.  It would be worth a trip to our premises to see how well it is maintained.  On tap for this vendor in the fall is scraping/rustproofing/painting all our metalwork.

I hired Fred's Magic Cleaning to sweep the chimney on my oil burner furnace after having a mason rebuild the chimney. Fred and his team were on time and cleaned my chimney. He suggested a few items that I needed (chimney cap and a cap for another vent), which I had installed. He looked over my fireplaces and explained which ones could be used and what would be needed to use them (I just purchased my home) He also explained that I needed the chimney lined. He explained that the high efficiency boiler I had was creating an issue at the top of my chimney that would cause it to deteriorate without the liner. He clearly explained everything and showed me information on what he was suggesting. He also brought a binder of prior work and places he had worked on.I declined to have the chimney lined as it was not in the budget at that time, but was grateful of Fred's explanation and would use him in the future for any other work.

As a landlord with many properties in Syracuse, Marty has done a lot of work for me over the years, and I have seen the work before, during and after it was done so I know what he is capable of. He could be a general contractor, due to his skills and knowledge, and just oversee all of the work, but for the most part he does a lot of the work himself. He has had a tough life and gone to the school of hard knocks, otherwise he'd probably be a wealthy contractor by now. Underneath his rough exterior, he is a solid guy who loves his daughters, and I consider him a friend now even though I don't need to use him as a contractor much anymore. In general his prices are very very reasonable considering the quality of his work and his ethics in an industry that lacks these qualities, so I would try to let him make a little money so he can continue in the industry and treat him right if he does a good job for you. You do need to keep tabs on him like any other contractor, make sure the work is being done the schedule you need it done (don't let him do other projects at the same time), and use common sense (pay him as the work is done and not all up front), but my sense is he has a good sense of responsibility and ethics and you will be happy with his work as long as you keep on top of him to make sure it gets done on a reasonable schedule.

They came immediately. They are ultra-reliable. If he was even going to be a little late he made sure to call. He is very consciencous. They're very down to earth. They're so good at what they do and whenever I need them they'll be here.
