Piano Moving reviews in Flushing

Frank advised he would show up with his team at 8am. He showed up at 8am. They took the piano out of the home without any issue. Frank advised they would need to stop in Brooklyn before coming to Queens. They showed up at our condo in Queens around 2pm. Took them a half hour to bring the piano up the stairs. Original price agreed upon was $350, but due to the difficulty and structure of our stairs, Frank requested $400 as the new price. I agreed seeing the difficulty of the situation. I would highly recommend Frank and his team if you need to move a piano. Don't bother getting other quotes.

The two men positioned their truck on an inclined driveway perpendicular to a four step entryway to the house. Using the tailgate, plywood sheeting and lots of  muscle. The piano made it's ten foot move across the plywood and partially onto a  5'x6' deck to the doorway that was a right angle to the deck.  The tolerances to angle the piano sufficiently could not have exceeded a half inch and could only be maneuvered by experienced and powerful personnel.  This was done and the placement of the piano inside the home was completed fairly easily. The piano was turned on and played perfectly.

From the first communication with John to the job completion can only be described as "perfect".  The coordination and actual move was flawless.  There was a great deal of potential for damage to property and piano.  None of which happened.  Not a scratch or dent, nothing at all.  It was actually amazing to watch them work.  The delivery men were very professional and courteous.  I can highly recommend NYC Piano Movers without reservation.  A very fine moving business!

I contacted Bill via email to obtain a quote for the move and possible tuning/repairs. He responded promptly (within 12 hours) and the estimate he provided was in the middle of the 3 quotes we had solicited, but I was impressed at the specificity of the questions he asked about both locations and the piano itself. I felt that of the people we spoke with, he was the most knowledgeable about the specifics of moving the piano (as opposed to some companies who seem to be movers who also offer piano moving services). He was able to offer us a convenient time a week later, which fit our schedule well.
The move itself went perfectly. He arrived at the other home to pick the piano up, and when I spoke with the owner, she said she was very impressed with the care he took to protect not only the piano, but her stairs and doorways. She felt he was pleasant and professional, as was his assistant. When they arrived at our home, he took a number of measurements of the doors, and we discussed placement of the piano. I was astonished at how fast he and his assistant were able to get the piano through a tiny door (with barely any clearance on either side), positioned where I wanted it, and without a single scratch. He offered advice on protecting the piano from any damage, and played a few scales/chords to check the sound. We had been concerned about two sticking keys, but he explained they would be fairly quick fixes, and offered us a discount on the work, as well as the necessary tuning. Overall, I was very impressed with his professionalism and pleased with the work he did. I felt the cost was more than fair, and worth every penny, given the fact that he had to navigate a difficult passageway/door.

I sat down to read the newspaper thinking that the movers would be late, but I couldn't get to the first article before I saw Jimmy's truck show up in front of the apartment, right on time.  The move was from a one-bedroom apartment, which is up one tricky flight of stairs.  The two hardest pieces were the upright piano and the sleeper sofa.  Without complaint, two of Jimmy's guys were able to turn a tight corner and get these items downstairs.  I was also concerned that once they saw the apartment and all the items we had in the attic, they would try to increase the price.  Nope - I had done my best to describe the job, and there was no question about price.  The quoted price was it.  I was surprised that it included moving the piano, a ton of rubbish (including discarding it!), taking things out of the attic and making two stops - one at a storage facility and another at a home location.  Jimmy is also extremely professional, especially in a business which can be a little suspect.  He clearly aims to do the best job he can at a good price.  He will also be truthful enough to tell you if he can't do something or can't make a particular day or time.  He is clearly motivated to do a good job and get good reviews and if you use him, you will see that he absolutely wants you to be satisfied.  He's smart because he knows reputation is everything. I would happily use him again.

Overall the hauling was done very well.  Each room of the house, the basement and garage cleared, packed and taken out to the trucks.
Great care was taken to check with me before hauling items away.

The house, garage, basement and backyard were left clean.  Everything was left broom swept.  In some rooms wall shelves had to be dismantled .Old carpets had to be cut and removed. An old wooden worktable in the basement had to be taken apart and hauled away.

I am very satisfied with the excellent completion of this work.  I could have been stressful and difficult but because of the manner that the crew worked it was a relief.

My experience with this company (Big Piano Movers) was quite good.
    Phase 1 - Estimate
I called the company and spoke to Frank. Upon providing the necessary details (i.e. piano height, locations involved in move, and details of any staircases at either location), he was able to provide a price for the move which was very reasonable compared to the other piano movers I called. The price also included cost of insurance pertaining to the move - covers floor, wall, piano.

Phase 2 - Scheduling of Move
This company is able to move pianos on weekends, and does not charge extra for doing so. (which seemed contrary to other piano mover companies I called) Frank was able to schedule my move for Saturday of the same week - at 8AM (which I believe was the first move of the day).

    Phase 3 - Move Details
On the day of the move, Frank and 2 other guys came to pick up the piano. They arrived 30 minutes early (which is better than being late) and were able to efficiently wrap the piano in cloth/plastic, put it on wooden brackets, and haul it down some stairs. After securing the piano in the truck, they drove to the destination location and unpacked the piano in the final location. The entire move was completed by 8:15AM. The piano arrived intact and in the same shape it was in prior to the move.

    1. You can tell that this company specializes in moving pianos based on how quickly/expertly they package the piano prior to the move.
    2. This company also provides other services (e.g. tuning, repair). I originally wanted to have the piano tuned the same day of the move, but Frank correctly informed me that it is necessary to wait a week or two before tuning (so the piano can adjust to the new destination environment) I also had some pre-existing blemishes on the piano (i.e. areas where the finish seemed to be dulling), and Frank was able to provide his guidance on how best to fix it.
    3. The truck used was a Budget rental. At first, I was a little concerned, but given how well they packaged/protected the piano and how they took the time to secure the piano in the truck - my fears were put to rest. I think some other companies I looked at used padded/environmentally controlled trucks - but at added cost to the consumer. All in all, this moving company served my purposes (i.e. Piano moved from point A to B quickly and efficiently with no damage).

As usual, the movers were consummate professionals. I have used this service 4 times in the past for home and office moves. I would not consider calling anyone else.
