Obgyn Care reviews in Flushing

I was seen the next day and a sonogram was ordered after which an MRI was also ordered and I've been referred to a surgeon. I have been very satisfied with the doctor and all the staff. The doctor has been with me step by step and is following up with all the oher doctors she has referred me to. I can't be more pleased with the care I'm receiving from them and would definitely recommend them.

It was smooth and efficient. The nurse practitioner, I believe her name was Stephanie, was straight to the point, comforting, and knowledgeable. When she found out the visit wasn't covered by insurance she didn't try to get me to do any excessive processes, just simply fixed the problem and I was on my way. This was my first visit to a gynecology office, and I was put at ease and taken care of in a timely and personable manner. If I could get my insurance to cover it, I'd go back in a heartbeat!

Dr. Hessel is always friendly and listens and answers all questions. The staff is friendly and the office is fine. Dr. Hessel is soft spoken but intelligent and concerned when she needs to be. Also very understanding.

He was really great and I am really, really happy with him. He did a surgery for me and he was really great. I went to couple of doctor and they said they can do the surgery and he did it and he did a very good job and I've been had the surgery for two years already and everything works very well. The staff there is really good and he'd become my doctor and I introduced my friend to him. He is just so professional. When I had the surgery he talked to me and explained to me what he's going to do and what I have to be careful. He basically really gave me a really, really great help.

After many visits to three physicians, who upon seeing my Xrays and results suggested surgery as the only recourse of which I was honestly petrified and fearful of the result. When examined by Dr. ChinQuee, she suggested some noninvasive treatments over a period. I thought about her approach, but felt happy that there was a Doctor, who could take me through this painful affliction and  decided to give her a chance to prove that she had the skills to build my confidence. Her vast knowledge and explanation with
.her sense of caring and guidance through the first treatment offered me some assurance that helped to allay my fears so I was able to tolerate the sessions. I have been able to effect a good amount of mobility and have to date been able to gain the confidence and withhold the dreaded thought of surgery. Her gentle approach to medicine is much to be desired. She is worth her weight in gold.
There should be many more Doctors who can understand the patients fear of surgery. I highly recommend her to family and friends.

I read good reviews of this doctor on another website so I had positive expectations. I was disappointed. First, the positives, I didn't have to wait too long for an appointment from the first time I called. Also, the wait time in the office was good. Next, the not so good. At first I thought that the doctor was thorough and concerned because she asked a lot of questions in her office before she saw me in the exam room. However, she sat behind her laptop typing while I answered her questions and did not appear to be very warm because she did not make eye contact with me. I don't recall even a small smile. During the exam, she was not very personable either. Her personality appeared as cold as the room, which is not good for a gyn's visit, which most women do not look forward to having in the first place. She was a bit rough during the exam. Then when I asked her if I could have an ultrasound as part of my exam since I have fibroids and a history of ovarian cysts (my mother had her ovaries removed due to ovarian cysts), she told me she doesn't do that in her office. My previous gyn, who I've now returned to, does do that exam in her office. So I will not be returning to this cold doctor with an unresponsive staff. Speaking of cold, I received many automatic voice messages from her offices saying I needed to make a follow-up appointment, but a human being never called me.

An assistant tended to me first, took down my medical history. She was nice but seemed very rushed. The practice was pretty busy, so there was a sense of being rushed overall. I was also left waiting intermittently, which was annoying, particularly because I was already in the paper gown waiting for the doctor to come in.
When Dr. Frandina came in she went over my medical history that the assistant had input in the computer and I told her that the primary reason for my visit was to have a check-up and to discuss pregnancy. She told me right away that my age - 43 - was a strike against me and that my chances of conceiving were not good. Also, she thought that I should perhaps see a reproductive specialist directly instead of a regular ob/gyn. While I am aware that a woman's chances of getting pregnant once she enters her 40s are significantly lower, I don't need someone to tell me that over and over. Plus, I tried to explain that while I am 43, I haven't been trying to get pregnant. The one time I did, when I was 41, I got pregnant immediately. Unfortunately, it was an ectopic pregnancy and as a result had to have my left fallopian tube removed.
In any case, she said I should try for 3-4 months, but then see a specialist if nothing happened.
She then examined me which involved a breast exam and a pap smear. But no pelvic exam. Also, she told me that if I wanted a pelvic ultrasound I would have to book another appointment - two months later! So on the one hand she's telling me to hurry up and try to conceive but I have to wait two months for an ultrasound, which I think is necessary since I had a fibroid removed 4 years ago and without even a pelvic exam, how could she or I know that everything was okay.
I also told her that in preparing for pregnancy I wanted to make sure that some other medication I had been taking like Tobradex eye drops (which is a steroid and which according to the drug info says it's been shown to cause teratogenesis in animal studies) were out of my system and so I wanted to know what its half life was and how long before it was out of my system. She told me I'd have to ask the doctor who prescribed it. But the doctor who prescribed it is an opthalmologist and he said I should consult with my gyn. Her response was that there are 500 drugs out there and they can't know everything about them. I asked her about anti-depressants I was taking and about their safety profile but that too she said I should discuss with the doctor who prescribed it.
    Finally, towards the end she was considering whether she should recommend genetic testing for cancer for me because my grandmother on my father's side had died of breast cancer. However, I told her that that wasn't really a priority right now. She said, yes, ok and quot;you have enough to worry about.and quot;
After I'd left the examination room, I realized that I forgot to ask about getting a test to ensure that my existing fallopian tube is not blocked because aside from being able to conceive I also want to make sure I don't have a repeat of the awful experience (ectopic pregnancy) I had two years ago.
The receptionist relayed my question to her and Dr. Frandina's response was that I should start with the ultrasound, but since I had that to worry about as well, she referred to a reproductive specialist.
Overall, I did not feel that she was thorough; I did not like her bedside manner but I'd be willing to overlook that if I didn't feel like I was just and quot;something to get out of the way.and quot; While I understand that she is not qualified to do the ultrasound, I don't understand why she didn't perform a pelvic exam.
I will certainly not be going back or recommending her.

She is friendly, down-to-earth, and professional. She makes me feel very comfortable. My sister goes to her too.  The appointments aren’t as easy.  She works out of more than one place and she’s not at that location all the time.  I wasn’t particularly impressed with the staff. I'll be scheduling another appointment with her soon.

This was my first visit to this Dr.  The receptionist did not greet me,  did not smile, wasn't rude but certainly wasn't friendly. I introtruced myself and stated my appointment time------she pushed some papers toward me and told me to fill them out and return them to her-----never making eye contact.  I sat down filled out the papers, handed them back  was told  to sit and wait  until I was called.------stil no eye contact.     Was called  into exam room met by a young women, she was very pleasant, friendly  but didn't introduce herself---as this was my first visit to this office,  I didn't know if this was the DR. or not;-----my question was answered whenshe told me to remove my clothes ,  put on the gown and the  "the doctor" would be in soon.  I summised this was the doctors' assistant.   Once undressed and in a gown, another young woman entered the room,  very plesant and friendly--I asked if she was Dr. Ravens, she was.    She is very easy to talk to,, actually listens whenyou speak to her, answers questions and is very warm and friendly while still being professional.  My positive experience with her out weigh the semi negative first impression I received in the waiting room.  THe reason I rated the "staff friendliness " question as  good is due to the Dr. and her assistant that led me to the exam room,  otherwise the rating would be lower.

We used this service originally because they provided service in the evening. For a working person like myself, that was invaluable to be able to go to the doctor together. They are a team of doctors and they are all good. Even though out delivery was not high risk, they specialize in that too. The rotation of doctors are very good and it is a busy practice. Loved the front office staff which is usually not the case.
