I can't comment on Dr. Susan H. Lee as a surgeon, but I can, and will, comment on the way her office is managed. My 80 year old mother was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 1/2010, her last sonogram showed a cyst that had formed near the site of the lumpectomy she had performed by Dr. Damani ( a great surgeon and lovely person, her office is in Manhattan and my mother wanted a doctor in Queens), the sonogram report suggested a biopsy be performed. I contacted Dr. Susan H. Lee's office on Oct 8th to make an appointment, the person (Jennifer) did ask me if this was an emergency and I said no; we were given a Nov. 22, 2010. After looking at the doctor report I saw the doctor who read the sonogram ranked the cyst as a category 4, I called Dr. Lee's office to see if we could see the doctor more quickly. Jennifer asked me to have the referring doctor's office fax over my mother's reports, which they did, I called back three days later and was told Dr. Lee was on vacation and to call back the following week. I contacted Dr,. Lee's office on October 19th and was asked to again fax the report, I did. I called back on October 21st and was told Dr. Lee was out of the office on Oct 21st and 22nd, the office staff told me to contact her on Monday and send the reports again, this time to her (Jennifer's) attention. On Monday October 25th I called and was now told to fax the reports directly to Dr. Lee. On Friday, November 5th @ 4:30 in the afternoon, Dr. Lee's office manager contacted me to try to change my mother appointment. She said the information had just come across her desk. - almost a month and the report is just coming across her desk?! I don't think anyone should have to work this hard to change an appointment. My mother is 80 years old, suffered a stroke in 2008 that left her with significant right side weakness and an inability to verbally communicate - can you imagine having breast cancer and not being able to ask questions and have to depend on someone else for your care. Anyway, Dr. Lee may be a wonderful surgeon. She was recommended by my mother's oncologist (Dr. M. Fulman) who we're very happy with, but there's no excuse for having to wait a little less than a month for someone from a doctors office to call you back to adjust an appointment. On Thursday, October 28th, I sent a fax for an appointment, no referral, to Dr. Dominic Filardi's office, they called me back on Tuesday, Nov 2nd with an appointment to see Dr. Filardi on Thursday, Nov. 4th.

Dr. Roger was very thorough. He performed the operation, and it turned out very good. My wife spoke very highly of him at the hospital. He explained everything to us, and even showed us diagrams of what was going on.

The surgery went as expected except the doctor told me because of my previous history I would experience pain differently, more intense and longer. Almost no more scar.
