Dance Studio reviews in Flushing

This is the most unprofessional dance school in Queens. Please do not put your children in this dance school. Ms. Tina has no idea had to run her business in a professional manner. She lacks communication, professionalism, and does not have the best interest of her clients and the children in mind. The staff members and families are clearly unhappy based on their facial expressions. My child attended the 9:30 am Saturday Tap/ballet class. The Owner Tina was late along with her staff almost every Saturday morning. Even on the days where it snowed, all families would wait outside in the cold until her and her family arrived late. (The baby tap ballet teacher quit in the middle of the semester)She was an amazing teacher, but was unhappy clearly just like the parents. The first year my 3 year old attended I allowed her to continue because it was our first experience dealing with a dance school and my baby expressed that she loved to dance. The recital put together was a complete nightmare. All recital outfits arrived late, (even though she was charging a late fee if you didnt pay on time) This resulted in a cancelation for dance picture day; which was rescheduled 2 days prior...many parents spent money getting their kids hair done, like myself.....unfortunately we had to turn around and get our kids hair done again because of the lack of communication and unprofessionalism of Ms. Tina. I decided to give it 1 more try for another semester, but found out Ms. Tina lost the dance school for some unknown reason and relocated. The dance class size went from 13 kids down to 5 kids for the new semester. Clearly, many parents did not return to this dance school for some of the reasons i just mentioned. We went to the new dance school location, and my daughter was very unhappy. It was very unprofessional, the day we arrived it was 17 degrees, the back door was letting in a cold breeze. (this is where the children had to change clothes) My daughter did not like this sudden change of facility, and dance instructor so we decided to drop out of the dance school. 1 week before we dropped out I paid $75 for the recital outfit, plus I was already paid for a month in advance of dance services. Ms. Tina stated that I could not get a refund $75 for the recital outfit nor could I get back my advance payment for dance services. However she would still purchase the recital outfit and give it to me in May. Today June 14 is the dance recital and she states she still doesn't have my childs dance outfit. I lost out on my 1 month payment, and $75 recital outfit fee. My friend who referred me here also lost out on over $600 because her daughter sprained her ankle, she obtained documentation from her doctor that her child could not dance and could not perform in the 4 shows she was supposed to be in, and some dance Competitions. Ms. Tina did not offer to give her anything back, and did not give her the 4 costumes prior purchased for the show. She only gave her 3 costumes and said she had to lend the costume to another dancer. Like "what? "Where did all this money go? People say support "Black owned businesses" blah, blah, blah....never gain. Ms. Tina dance school is very unprofessional and is all about the money.

My daughter has been taking tap and jazz classes at The Dance Project for the past 4 years and absolutely loves it! Her teachers are amazing and she has made some great friends. Everyone here makes her feel welcome and at home. She has learned a lot and is always excited about going to class. Her teachers always encourage her to try her very best and this in turn has pushed her to practice at home to perfect her steps. She just had her dance recital this past weekend and I was amazed as to how well everyone performed. There are some very talented students who attend this dance studio and the recital was a reflection of all of the hard work both the students and teachers put forth. At times I felt as if I was watching a broadway show and not your typical dance recital. My daughter plans to continue her classes with The Dance Project and I am thrilled because there will be many wonderful opportunities for her to not only be a better dancer, but also a more confident and strong young girl.

The Dance Project is the best! I went there as a child / teen and now my daughter just finished her first year there. She took the tap jazz combo class and looked foward to going each week. My daughter learned so much from her teacher, Ms. Jeanine. Ms Jeanine is a dedicated and loving teacher who is amazing with toddlers and pre-schoolers. Ms. Jean, the Director, is always welcoming and runs the studio smoothly. She has a way of making you feel like family. Even the receptionists always have a smile on their faces. We couldn't ask for a better staff. The recital was last week and my daughter enjoyed every minute of it. It was a truly captivating performance. I highly recommend the Dance Project Of Whitestone. It is a great value for your money and you will be happy you did. We are excited to be part of such an excellent dance studio! ck

I am very pleased with them. They teach children to enjoy. They are charging about 150$ per month for three classes. They are excellent. Additionally, they have an end of the year-show where they put on all the children and it is abolutely delightful.

Mambo Bravo has a very friendly environment. They have a good learning area. They are welcoming. There are many different types of people that come there. It?s demographically and age-wise very widely ranged which is helpful when it comes to learning new things, especially Latin dance. I thought that one has to speak fluent Spanish to learn this dance form but they don?t give that kind of pressure there. It comes to $125 for a group class. In terms of a local dance studio, it?s definitely worth keeping them in business. They teach different styles of Latin dancing so it?s not boring or anything. They teach professionally. They are very encouraging and very patient. I plan to keeping on going there; in fact I?m going there tonight.
