    Michael Grimm Services, Inc.
Initially, my husband and I set out remove a row of hedges that separated my yard from my neighbor's yard independently. We spent 2 hours working and managed to get 1-2 of the bushes out! That's when we said no more we need help! I did a quick google search and found Michael Grimm's webpage and saw that they offered the landscaping services we needed.
The initial call was simple enough; the scheduler was very nice and it was a relief to know that the company was flexible enough to come and assess the job without us being home since we both worked during the times/dates that were available. I promptly received a quote for the job (less than $400) both by email and by mail which I appreciated. Accepting the bid and setting up a day/time to do the work was also as simple as getting the quote. The day before the work was to be done, the company reached out and let us know that the work would be done the next day and to call with any questions/concerns. The next day, I came home from work and the job was done! They did exactly what we had asked for and even left the area neater than it was when they came!
We were so happy with the work that we had done, that we reached out again to get a quote for a retaining wall. I was contacted by Fred Cross (the landscaping manager) and discussed in length what we wanted and what our options were. Again, they were able to come out and assess the area without my husband and I being present which is so helpful when working full time. I received an emailed quote within a few days and was impressed with what I saw. The quote not only included a description of the job but a computer graphic of what we could expect. But honestly the best part was Fred; he was so amazing and patient as I emailed him back and forth for a few days to make adjustments to the job. He even went as far as sending me pictures of what our rock choices were and examples of what the work could look like once it was completed. It wasn't difficult for my husband and I to accept the bid and move forward due to the fact that we were already so impressed with their work and appreciated that Fred really took the time to understand what we wanted and to ensure that the job fit within our budget. This time, when the work was in progress, my husband was lucky enough to be home to witness the transformation. The crew that day brought everything they needed and got to work quickly demolishing our old retaining wall and grading the slope to match the planned retaining wall. My husband reported that the crew was professional and efficient throughout the time that they were at our home. It was nice to see how the crew was familiar with the layout that had been decided on between myself, my husband and Fred. The retaining wall was rebuilt quickly and not only met but exceeded our expectations. Not to mention, it was nice that they cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave a mess for us to clean up once the work was done. I should mention that the crew worked around the challenge of a semi-completed deck that we were in the process of building which I am sure made the job more difficult.
I am so glad we went with Michael Grimm for both jobs. We are actually looking forward to using them again this season for some landscape work!

La Face Tile & Mason Co Inc
Lorenzo Laface was easy to reach and communicate with, gave us a good estimate, and was prompt, very competent and professional doing the work. He knows the work very well, is easy to work with, and there were no surprises. The work was done quickly and very well for a good price. After he did the porch, we had him come back to do the sidewalk work at our house, and eventually had him do the sidewalk at our parents' house. We would highly recommend him (them) and will be using them in the future for any masonry work we might need as our home grows older.

    Capital Home Construction LLC
I am very impressed with the quality of service and the quality of people at Capital Home Improvement.  An ongoing but intermittent leak in my kitchen roof was really bothering me.  Capital Home Improvement was friendly and responded promptly to my service call.  They inspected my roof and chimney and were able to seal up the source of the leak.  I have not had any problems since.
I would recommend Capital Home Improvement for home repairs where you need a professional who knows how to do things the right way.

.Scott fully explained all aspects of the project in advance, and was available  and responsive throughout the work.  His team was polite, very had working, professional, careful with lawn and plantings, and cleaned up afterwards.  The job was completed ahead of schedule.

    DH Ferrarone Company LLC
Mr. Ferrarone's bid on our roof repair, backed up by a 3 year guarantee of his work, was considerably less than it would have cost to re-roof that section of our roof. Time will tell if his repairs do the trick, but we are hopeful that they will work, and appreciate his confidence to stand behind his work for 3 years. If the repairs hold up that long, by then perhaps by then we will be ready to re-roof. We appreciated his efforts and suggestions regarding repairing our front door step; for this, as with his other work, he stands behind the workmanship for 3 years. In replacing the rotting window sills on our dormers (something we weren't aware of when we initially contacted him about the roof), he was efficient & effective, using pressure treated wood to help resist rot in the future. If we could have gotten the work done a little sooner, that would have been even better; but I understand that contractors are a busy lot, especially towards the end of the outside home repair season. All in all, a positive, professional experience. (P.S. Two years out, all the work that Mr. Ferrarone did is holding up well.)

    MORRIS & MORRIS
The concrete patio was extremely thick (8-12" thick) and had heavy wire mesh in the middle. All the  concrete had to be jackhammered, which took approximately 6 hours by 3 men.  The  excess to the work site was fenced in and all materials  had to be wheel barreled  or carried through a 4' gate making the project more difficult.
Dug down to about 9" of earth, added estimated 6" of crush/run stone, tamped down and then added stone dust and then tamped down again and again. Entire paver surface edge was bordered by an edge & spike containment system.  Finally the patio and walkway bricks were treated by brushing in the joints  (grouted) with Polymeric sand.
We used Cambridge pavers 4"x8"  Herringbone pattern, Ruby Onyx color with onyx natural blended in. He also installed 2 underground drains to accommodate  rain gutters.  After all the brick was in he brought in topsoil and landscaped the edges, seeded and laid straw down. Job was completed.
Mr. Morris did an outstanding job in the layout and design of our new brick patio, new pathway  and new steps with split block with inlaid brick.
Mr. Morris  and his men were  punctual and worked harder than anyone I've ever seen, I might add that several days were high 80 degrees.
The work was completed in 4 1/2 days and the end results were "OMG" that is beautiful.
I would highly recommend Mr. Morris to anyone who wants  a master  brick paver, a master at design and layout.
